We purchased a number of items and this was the first one he tried. Lisa explained to us what Wagyu is exactly (we didn't know) and how their farm operates and it was quite interesting! There is a lot of information on their website or just ask Lisa!! They also carry Angus Beef as well as American-Wagyu. Lisa also explained to my husband how to cook Wagyu and to our surprise..NOT on a grill. He followed her instructions and is very pleased! We will definitely be back for more but for now we are stocked. He looks forward to his next steak!!! The Farmstead store has some other items as well including some very awesome full zip hooded sweatshirts (currently $20!) high quality and I have to say I have been living in it If you are local and are looking for a great steak, definitely make an appointment with Lisa!! We tried Matheson Farms for the first time last week. We were looking for a lower fat red meat and…read morelearned about yak. I was happy to find a local source at Matheson Farms. I checked out the offerings on line and decided to try the yak ribeye and ground yak, one pound of each. The farm stand wasn't quite open for the season (it is now open on Saturdays), so I simply sent them an email with my request. I received a prompt response and was able to set up a time to meet Sandra Matheson at the farm stand to pay for and pick up my meat. Both are items were nicely packaged and frozen. The yak ribeye was flavorful, but was tougher than we expected. We didn't do anything to it but add pepper. I think we will try marinating it next time and see if that helps. The ground yak was very good - we cooked patties and served it on a grilled portobello Mushroom cap. In addition to yak, Matheson also sells grass fed beef, which we also intend to try.

It was a very uncomfortable and hostile environment when he is there. Won't go back. The customer service is too rotten when the nice ladies aren't allowed to treat customers correctly, and they try to push rotten fruit in the shop vs you picking what you want. The guy also tries to give you samples of unwashed fruit with dirty hands and a dirty knife used for cutting the fruits. Yuck!!! Parking is very limitted on the gravel next to the shop and your vehicle sometimes gets filthy and covered with dust when you or others drive in and out. Hard pass.

This is an absolutely wonderful little farm with what looks like a billion blueberry bushes. You…read moredrive up, and parking can be a little tight, but it's worth it. There are blueberry bushes as far as the eye can see, and you need your own container, but if you love that summer feeling of picking your own fruit, this is the place. The payment is $1.50 per pound or a dollar per pound if you get 10 lb or more. It's all on the honor system, which was really nice and refreshing to see that there's still some trust in our community. The owner came around a few times talking, laughing, and joking with us and our fellow pickers. he encouraged us to eat as many as we possibly could off the bushes so we didn't put a dent in our haul. He also provides bottled water underneath a tent when it gets too toasty out. The only thing I would caution is that it can be easy to pick an abundance of blueberries without noticing. my friend and I were there for just over an hour, and when I weighed my bag I was shocked to find out that I had done 14 lbs. My only issue now is to figure out what to do with them all! I highly recommend going as an essential part of a summer in Bellingham.

I had no idea there were so many types of blueberries. They had a little sign that listed the type of blueberry and what rows were available for picking. We grabbed a bucket and went to town. You are even allowed to taste them! The blueberries were good quality. While there were some that we not ripe yet, there were plenty of blueberries to pick and they looked good. They weren't like mushy or gross. Blueberries are also certified organic. Payment is sort of on the honor system, at least when we were there. Price is $3/lb. We ended up going up with 4 lbs of blueberries. They take cash, check or venmo. Just record the weight, the price and how you paid. They have other things at this farm as well.

My friends and I were looking for a little day adventure and we found this blueberry farm. It was…read moreso much fun to go out (it was a beautiful day) and come home with almost 16 pounds of blueberries! I picked about 8 pounds and paid only $15. When you get there, there's a small table with walker talkies for you to page the owner. The owner of the farm come out and talks to you about the blueberries and tell you to page him if you have any questions or need any help. The blueberries are beautiful and to me seemed very organic, no pesticides or herbicides seemed to be used. My friends participate in the "CSA" box that this farm offers that delivers a box or fresh vegetables and food to your door and a scheduled regular drop-off. They said some of the vegetables they've never seen before and they love experimenting with different foods they can make. Such a great local farm! Definitely a family friendly excursion!

Go to the website you can see where to click to get started. After you select what you want, there is a good variety, you will get an email confirming your order. Within a few days you will get an email to pay then it gets delivered on the next day for your area. I messed the day up and didn't hear him knock (I work from home and ha headphones on) so I missed the truck. It came back later. The gentleman that dropped it off was great very friendly and helpful. The products all looked great and came in boxes so it was easy to handle. I spent $300 and am set for 7 people for protein for a good 6 weeks and cheese for month. I suggest trying it and if you do as a reminder it's nice to tip the delivery guy no matter if its pizza, mulch or meat.
