When you arrive you take a test to see what kind of perfume category you fit into as a suggestion They even have you meditate for a few minutes in another section of the place to see what pops into your mind and what you are craving in life You do a LOT! We were here for two hours. You even write a post card to your future self and they mail it to you at a completely Random time. Could be tomorrow, could be a year from now. After doing all the quizzes and etc, they hand you a sheet of paper with all the perfume available but they put check marks next to ones they recommend for YOU. Once you get to the perfume wall you smell a bunch of different ones, if you're overwhelmed they give you coffee beans to smell and you can step outside for fresh air. You circle on the paper which ones you like Then, it's time lol. This was extremely hard, but fun. You get to put the ones you picked on test strips and then see how they dry down and etc. And, you have to smell them all together to see if the notes you picked work together I will say, I was in heaven considering I collect perfume and very rare niche ones. And if you are a lover of DIY cosmetic experiences like the birthday girl who picked this for her birthday, you will love it Also, if you are sensitive to perfume, this place is NONTOXIC. It's all clean, vegan and nontoxic I will say, the whole experience was a 10/10. I don't think the perfume is very strong like ones you get at the store (because it's all clean and nontoxic. But, it's better to be safe) The only downside is, we paid 200 plus dollars for the engraving option (again, that package cost more) and the engraver was down. We started with a personality quiz, talked about our intentions and the mood we wanted our fragrances to represent, learned the story behind Elia and its founder, and then went through a personalized meditation before exploring different scents. From there, we connected what we liked back to our profiles and ultimately created our own custom fragrances. One of my favorite parts is that your scent is truly yours. Everyone creates something unique, so when someone compliments your fragrance, you know they aren't going to be wearing the exact same one. They also save your profile, which makes this a place I could see coming back to again and again. You might want something lighter for daytime, something completely different for an evening, or a fragrance that reflects a new mood or intention. It was such a meaningful one-on-one mother-daughter experience, but I could easily see this being amazing for a birthday group, girls' day, special occasion, or even team bonding. The space is large, beautifully designed, and the location is incredibly convenient. It has a great location in Laguna, although I didn't realize they had validated parking until I had passed the parking structure and ended up paying $6.00 at the garage behind the building. So when you go, make sure to park at "The Collection at Laguna" and get validated. The store is pleasant & filled with lots of gift goodies. Items were over priced but no more than the normal Laguna establishment. You pay for a little piece of the beach with each purchase. =) The candle making experience: Creativity: Lots of fun choosing your candle shape, fragrance, color and embellishments. The process is simple and calming. My candle took about two hours to create from start (picking everything) to finish (having the owner meld the wax together.) The dry time is two hours unless you want to pay extra for faster drying so you'll need to come back. The wait won't bother you since you can spend the two hours relaxing at the beach in anticipation of your wax creation. The only downside is I couldn't finish my candle by pouring the filler wax and placing the top embellishments. I'm sure this was a safety rule but in my opinion; have me sign a waver (so I don't sue you) and allow me my God given right to get burned if I so choose to. lol Price: The cost of the candles is expensive. My candle "Moon Shine" and 17 small embellishments cost my close to $60.00. The candle promises to burn for 50hrs. However I think I'm going to need a few days before I can harness my zen teachings of letting go, giving back to the universe and burning it. When compared to how much a candle of it's size costs in another store, $60.00 seems outrageous. BUT consider the creative time you experienced and the joy of creating something from scratch and it makes it well worth the price. Think of Pure Light as a fine dining experience. It may not be for every day but it's a blast when your ready to splurge a little. OVERALL: I highly recommend Pure Light. The environment is great, the creative process is fun and it's a great alternative to the normal dinner and a movie. Happy Candle Making!!

I took the first of a new type of class and way of painting. The studio lighting was low with candles on the stations next to our easels. The class was a contemporary painting that included new to me techniques and was inspired with a guided meditation. First we traced "Sacred Geometry" or a flower of life on the blank canvas for healing and transformation. Then a base color for grounding and next a guided meditation (my mom came through) then we to painted blind folded. It was a great experience. Timree is a genius and intentional without being stuffy or strict. I'm a long term paint club member it's great value and this class was priceless for me.
