As a survivor of head and neck cancer my treatment related dental problems were extensive. Bone grafts to reconstruct my lower jaw, and radiation damage to the remaing teeth had really complicated my situation. The first Implant specialist that I consulted saw my scans and said he couldn't do the surgery. He said "there's only one guy who can do this, this is a job for Kumar". I later learned that my first doctor had studied under Dr. Kumar, and he is in fact incredibly talented. Six months ago he told me this practice was his passion. Now, after months of complicated treatment, I have a full set of Zirconium teeth and permanent implants. Doctor Kumar is very dedicated and professional. His staff is pleasant and efficient. I won't deceive you, it is a difficult process, and requires huge amounts of patience, and trust, but it is worth it. I have none of the problems or inconvenience that come with dentures, and my ability to eat well, and speak well has been restored. I had some Resin fillings and a tooth pulled. One filling fell out before I got home. It was replaced and fell out again along with another one. My feeling is that I should have not let them pull my tooth. The tooth was not hurting, I had a problem on the inside of my gum. I had a meeting with the head of the practice. We had some words but he agreed to replace the 2 fillings. When I went back I saw some other man who had nothing to say to me. He replaced the fillings and got up and left. He did not check to see if any of the others needed to be redone per my request. I will not be going there again. read more

Horrible experience. Went in for Dentures fitting, and found out they basically don't do dentures. They could have stated that when I called to make the appointment. However, instead, Doctor Kumar, wants to sell you on implants for 40K. Doctor trys to push a personal loan on you through his own finances. *****DECEMBER 2021 UPDATE***** This place has only gotten better with time. 4 years later and I still feel like tghis is the best dentist I have been to in my 48 years oon this earth. Case in point. I have been pretty lucky teeth wise. I have never needed a crown or root canal. But as of late, an amalgum filling from 25 years ago has started to break loose. The prior dentist who hacked me up, did a really bad job on that cavity. But the filling was HUGE. I digress. I was told about a year ago I needed to get a crown. My insurace will pay a significant amount, I just needed to get it done. Fast forward to this past Tuesday. I was scheduled for my bi-annual cleaning. Vickie, who is the GREATEST hygenist ever, was mid cleaning when she told me we really needed to ge t that crown taken care of before the new year resets my deductible. She had another staff member check if my insurance would cover it before the end of the year. Well, they would. So she looked at the scheule. saw that Dr. Tran had an opeing in 15 mins. Aftwer we finished the cleaning, they whisked me away to the next room over. She handed me off to Cassie. Guys, be like Cassie. She was so damn friendly. She and I had time to talk while waiting for the Dr. She was super nice to talk to. We talked for a bit until Dr. Tran came in. Dr. Tran is the BEST. Never felt the shots. Like seriously. ALso, he was always asking how I was doing. Always checked to make sure I was ok. 2 hours later I had a temporary crown. Walked out happy. No real pain after the procedure. Jaw was a bit sore from holding it open for 2 hours, but that was expected. TL:DR - This place is amazing. This place doubled the price of my $38,000.00 implants when I returned for service. I digned a paperwork saying I agree to pay $300 for my next service which is cleaning. I come in and they told me the day of service it was ill be $600, why didn't you send me a notice of the price increase. So they canceled my appointment while I was sitting in the chair, sent me a letter a week later about the price. I get here today thinking theynwill honor the $300 I signed for after getting my implants, mo they deleted the paper I signed and put a new one up there for $600. Every experience I have had here has been pleasant. Going to the dentist has been something I dislike strongly; However, after Being under Dr. Kumar's treatment plan my teeth are healthy and looking beautiful! Would absolutely recommend this dentist! Oh and he accepts this dental plan $94 a year, that gives you a HUGE discount on all service! I want to say it's either 40% or 60%.. for those that don't carry dental insurance! FYI! The visit was very nice until I saw the dentist. He started by badmouthing the people who recommeded him and later said the same thing they did. I was told "No charge" for consultation or X rays. The doctor was pushy, I agreed to have my credit checked as they do not accept any insurance and only after my credit came back good did they really start to pressure me into doing the 25.000.00$ procedure. After insisting I was not ready and did not really want to commit while lying in the chair, they agreed to discharge me. Unfortunately I agreed to have a full head scan, of which I was NOT told there would be a charge, I had to pay 318.00$ before leaving! I was told if I have the 25K procedure, the 318.00 would be included. Not a present visit. read more

Recommend not visiting this office unless you want to deal with another dentist office who only cares about making money and lies to patients. I found them through United Concordia find a dentist website. Their address listed they were near 192 and Wickham; however, when I drove to the listed address I discovered they were no longer at that location. I called and found out they were about 10 mins drive North. When I told them I would be late because I drove to the address in the "find a dentist" search tool. They informed me that if I was more than 10 mins late I would have to reschedule. I make before the 10 min late cutoff, and fill out paperwork. I am then informed that I needed to pay $35 for a full mouth X Ray because insurance only covers one every three years and I had one the year prior. I tell them I dont want to pay, since that's why I have insurance and they let me know it's a discount (usually $75) so it's not that bad. I tell them I dont want to pay anything, so they say I can have my prior office provide me a copy of the xray but I will have to reschedule. Even though I took off of work to make this appointment. I asked if I had to have an xray and they said Florida Law requires the dentist to have a full mouth xray...but just found out that is a complete lie. read more

pre-COVID, the dentist recommended work over $7k for my teeth. I finally got a 2nd opinion from another practice and it only cost me $1700! The dentist was very pushy and seemed to only care about $. He was even pushing me to apply for a credit card. To make even worse, they asked for a $50 deposit for my follow up cleaning visit. That is the first time I've heard any dentist do that and I've been to MANY! Will never go back because they are robbers. read more

Her review is below: "While I was visiting family in Melbourne, my daughter shared her raving kudos of her dentist, Dr. Kumar, and his team. I decided to try him out and called to make an appointment with Dr. Kumar. My first experience included being impressed by the state-of-the-art equipment and the very nice & gentle technicians. Afterwards, Dr. Kumar reviewed the X-Rays, checked and explained thoroughly why I needed work on one molar and nothing more. He is soft spoken and gentle in his conversation and was willing to take the time to explain everything. I mentioned that I have return tickets in a week and if he can finish the work by that time I can get the work started that day. Dr. Kumar immediately called his supplier/contractor for the items and arranged everything for me. He personally checked on the supplier a few times and made calls to rush the shipment before I had to leave. Additionally, I did not have insurance. I have been going to a dentist all my life. I am a retired engineer and have found a truly gifted dental surgeon in Melbourne, Florida. DMD Sadesh Kumar, a Doctor of Dental Medicine, that does dental implants, periodontal procedures, regular and specialized dentistry. I was in need of a dental implant. Since implants are complex and expensive, I sought the counseling and the estimates of three dentists. I found Doctor Kumar to be my best choice and his estimate was fair and reasonable. He impressed me with his knowledge and professionalism. He took the time to discuss the implant procedure with me. The level at which Doctor Kumar cares for his patients was beyond what I had previously experienced. He makes an extra effort to care for his patients and puts their needs first. He attended to me and other patients, working well beyond his normal work schedule, working past closing times and weekends, to take care of us. His office, Wickham Dental Care, has state-of-the-art equipment. Equipment and procedures more advanced than what I have seen in other dentist offices. Took wife six weeks to perform what was supposed to be a two week new crown. Temp's fell out as she was driving home from the Dentist office and permanent crown was made improperly several times and had to be remade. I have been with this office since they have opened! Years ago. Over the past couple years service has gone down hill. This past week I went in for my cleaning and that was the last straw for me. The hygienist Vicky was assigned to me today, every time you go in it's someone different which I hate. I brought my mouth guard (that they insisted at the last apt to bring it in because I can't wear it from day one because it hurts) also because I have since gotten a crown and they need to adjust it. I was also told any time I need to get my bleaching trays replaced to bring in my teeth mold (which they made for me, for this reason) so I did. The bleaching trays are good for about a year and then they don't work. The hygienist asked me what I was carrying and I told her- and she through an instant attitude and stated she has never heard of anyone getting new bleaching trays every 6-12 months, I explained that's why this office gave me a mold of my teeth to make it quick and easy, then she proceeded to tell me Dr Kumar was in surgeries and that he didn't have time to fix my mouth guard. I told her that was told to bring them next apt. She huffed and walked away. She came back and I asked if she was having a bad day, her response was I was until you got here with all your requests!!! wow I was floored. Last I checked I was the patient, last I checked I was requested to bring these in, so I got up and told her I was done with her attitude. I went to the front asked for a manager- which they said they don't have- that it is Dr Kumar. So I asked for another hygienist. Not one person asked me what happened at the front desk, apologized or nothing. I sat in the waiting room fuming that there was no office manager to complain to about this woman whom should be retired at home instead of being in a customer service position. As a healthcare worker myself, I would never treat a patient like that. Also working in healthcare there is always an office manager. So I got up and left, called the office and spoke to a woman regarding this incident and requested a call back from the Dr and never got one that was last Thursday. So here is what I can tell you- the majority of the reviews on this page are probably the employees saying how great this place is, here is what I can tell you, years and years of constant issues with this dentist, crowns that don't fit or fall out, hygienist that either hurt you or are rude and the front office staff always looks miserable and like they are in pain. I am not a person to bad mouth a business, but had they called to make this right and apologized there would be no bad review!! I a now moving on to another place. I have had it with this place!! Update- this is how unprofessional they are, I still have yet to get a phone call. So note to people wanting to go here, the employees are always right. Not the customer. I got a letter in the mail saying they discharged me due to other instances. The other instance is when I paid for a crown had a temp in, it came out with in hours. Had a follow up apt for the permanent, got to the office and it wasn't even in. Yet they said that it was never ordered! So I had to get the temp put back in- only for it to fall out the following day. The correct thing that should have happened was them calling me and telling me it wasn't in so I did not take time off of work. Another fail! Then again another issue was the fact that I was to get tubes of whitening gel for life- they changed all that after a couple of years- went to 1-2 tubes a year! So yeah there was other times I was not happy- and rightfully so! Go the other direction!!! You will not matter in this office. You will have a different Dr every time and a different hygienist and it's all about the money for them. Customer service is not their priority- clearly! read more

I live out of state, had massive pain and called. Staff had me come in immediately. Was seen by the dr immediately, addressed the situation and worked out a plan to address the pain and have the tooth fixed. Everyone in the office says hello, smiles and extremely cordial! Beautiful office, with a drink station and open bright lights makes you feel you are more outside then inside. Everyone makes you feel comfortable and talk to you as if they knew you for years! Dr is extremely talented and handled this big chicken by making sure my pain was always evaluated during the procedure. Did a great job and removed all my fear of going to a dentist! I am happy to say no matter what state I live in (7 away) I will be back as a full time patient. I haven't had a dentist this good in decades-nice when everyone is happy to see you and makes you feel comfortable when you walk thru the door. We gladly travel from Saint Augustine to get our dental care done here. The office is clean, updated, and the staff are very nice and professional. Vicki, our dental hygienist, is an all star! She gives the best care my 57-year-old teeth have ever had. I trust Dr. Kumar after having a number of crowns and fillings done over the years and my wife had those clear braces done recently. Horrible! I chose them because they were in network and I needed a deep cleaning but instead of saving $200 I spent $1500. The hygienist accidentally broke my tooth being too aggressive. About 2-3 hours later while eating bacon and eggs I felt my tooth coming apart. I immediately went back but they gave me a new hygienist and then the dentist who said my tooth broke because of my meal not his hygienist and not his fault. Nothing he would do. I left and went to my primary dentist Dr Matt Sheldon on Sarno who did my crown, veneers and bridge and was scheduled to set my Invisalign tomorrow. They do EXCELLENT cosmetic work and I only go to him for that. They aren't in network though but worth it. He has just filled the tooth a month ago from a root canal. The tooth was solid and the filling held. The pulling and scraping and jarring fractured the tooth and it broke. $1500 for a crown and the Invisalign appt canceled. trays had to be tossed. Lesson learned. Stay away from Wickham Dental. Inexperienced, shotty work. read more

I have a long history of fearing the dentist, based on experiences with a dentist with sadistic tendencies when I was a pre-teen (in the early 1950s) that has remained with me until 2013, when I began going to Wickham Dental. From your registration through all aspects of your visit, you are treated like a valued friend, rather than 'just another patient'. It is so evident that the practice is a 'family', and they welcome each new patient as a new member of their family. The quality of service is 10 stars. 4yr old daughter, first dentist visit; Dr. Winterbaum was amazing. He requested based on the extensive work she needed that we go to a pediatric dentist. He is a fairly large man and was concerned about how my girl's mouth would feel after just bc of his hand size. So we did and to say that we felt like cattle in a shoot would be an understatement. So we went back to Winterbaum. The office staff took their time w/my girl, making her feel like a superstar. We are making multiple visits, going slow and easy, not for any reason other than her comfort. So far we've had 4 cavities done, w/some injections. Dr. Kumar and his staff are great! They always get us in within a reasonable amount of time (no waiting three months or more for an appointment like some offices)! My husband has been afraid of going to the dentist since he was a little kid, but has trusted Dr. Kumar since his very first appointment with him. Considering my husband's past dental history and experiences, this really says a lot. They are great with kids, especially the dental hygienist, Marian, who knows exactly how much or how little to do with each of my children based on their personalities. She is pleasant, friendly, and explains things very well.
