We have been to an Awesome Aspen Dental in Orange Park, FL & a horrible one in West Melbourne - So not all offices are alike... But this one on New Haven Ave is up there with the Awesome one!! Dental assistants are not very charismatic, dentists had her kid in the office screaming the whole time. I had 2 crowns put on, extremely painful 3 hours, pain got worse and after paying for the crowns and all the pain, the dentist said I need a root canal, obviously they did not look through the x-rays too well. They where laughing at how much saliva I was excretion. Terrible, terrible experience. Sadists. read more

I have been hiding from dentists for 34 years. Did pretty well too cleaning my own teeth. But I finally broke a tooth, biting into a clamshell in some gumbo. I even avoided the dentist after that for another two years. But the time has come to face the music and pay the piper. I have been extremely nervous about going into the dentist, but even with the rigorous hour plus of bone graft Doctor Shields took extra precautions and I ended up with ZERO pain. Never even took a pain pill. I have some more small work to do but I am confident that this office cares about me and they have gone out of their way to make me comfortable. They went way out of their way to visually explain everything that was going on with my teeth, including scans and tests that I never knew existed. They have a real grasp of the highest and latest technology for dental work. Of course the fact that they did an awesome job is the real story. But I'm still sane thanks to them. Scheduled an appointment for a chipped tooth (not an extraction) I called 8 times to verify my insurance, each time it went through to a call center. I get an email stating my appointment, I get there at 730am on Saturday, the individual at the front says sorry they couldn't verify my insurance bc I didn't speak with her. I NEVER COULD, y'all have a call center that takes you to. Anyways, I ask ok how much will this cost? She said I don't know which tooth they're going to extract. I told her no extraction, just a small chip in the tooth that's causing pain, it can be fixed. She said she couldn't give me a price until after everything is done. It is ILLEGAL to withhold pricing from patients before a procedure. I should have kept to the reviews and realized a 2 star business, is no place for anyone who wants to be treated with fairness, respect and quality care... Now I have to wait the weekend and hope to get into a dentist first thing Monday because of this horrible establishment. Horrible experience from start to finish. Walk in to check in for my appointment and the receptionist says we've tried to reach you for several days?? I called the office and confirmed the appointment and sent my dental insurance over. After waiting over 30 minutes in the waiting room I got about 10 feet into the back before I had 2 staff members literally yelling at me in the hall in front of everyone. Maybe talk to new or potential patients a little nicer. I've never walked out of an appointment before but couldn't get out of there fast enough. And the receptionist snickered "bye" when I left. They took a guy before me that arrived at 8:15 then they took 2 others back that arrived later than me. 30 minutes in the receptionist said it'll be just a minute then fifteen minutes after that I got up and left read more

Have been having dental problems with my new denture that Aspen made less than a year ago. I called and made an appointment to see what they could do to help me. They were very compassionate and took the time to listen to my concerns. Doctor Alana Shields, and her assistants Melissa and Markica were wonderful. They went above and beyond and I walked out with a beautiful smile and new dentures. I almost forgot Linda the receptionist who was also wonderful. I lost my partial for.my bottom teeth...went in ..had a checkup. Dentist decided he wanted to work on my top teeth and the office manager told me "he wont do a mold of my bottom teeth because they'll fall out. Really. Nothing to do with my top teeth. What an ass. Never again. And he told me he would do a temporary partial....uuum..not so. When I go to a dentist for something specific that's what I expect. Not some money grubbing half ass dentist who tells me what, when, and how. read more

Made an appointment, received confirmation of my appointment the day before. I show up to my scheduled appointment on Monday morning at 8 am. I took off work for this appointment, I walk in to the office Monday morning and was given three different excuses of why they cannot take new patients??? I asked why they did not call to inform me that they would not be able to new patients and was just given more excuses? What??? Don't bring your business here they are a mess.
