Dr.Schmid did a great job. He did several impressions and mock surgeries before I was in the…read morehospital. He also gave me options and the procedures he would be doing for the surgery. He gave me the option to do either the upper and lower jaw surgery or just the lower jaw, and the pros and cons of both. The fact he was thorough in the details of the surgery, the multiple impressions, several mock surgeries really helped me relieve the stress before surgery because it was the first time I've been in the hospital since I was two. I woke up from the hospital with no pain, I didn't even need pain medication, I was just swollen and had little bit of bleeding from the surgery from a hole that was probably was about 1cm. He followed up on the surgery as well to make sure every was good for 6 months after as well. I have made a full recovery almost a year except maybe some numbness but that is decreasing, there isn't even a scar where the hole was. The reason however I did not give 5 stars is because of the office, not Dr.Schmid. It was so stressful to see that they couldn't seem to schedule me correctly and had problems with finding my files and changing my dates for appointments, this reduce my confidence in the office and caused me to be stressed and suspicion. But I will leave on a good note, he did a great jawb, haha.

For someone who faints while simply giving blood, I was more than anxious about full upper teeth extraction and bone grafting. Honestly, this experience could not have been easier! Surgery was seamless and my recovery was swift. I can't believe that I felt comfortable within a week after significant bone grafting. It was so successful, I ended up with 6 implants instead of just the minimum 4. My entire journey was fully orchestrated between this office and Dr Steven Schmid at Family Dentistry and Prosthodontics in Merritt Island. From the very first consultation through my All on 4 dental implant procedure and follow ups, I was treated with professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. They took the time to explain every step of the process, answered all my questions, and made sure I felt totally comfortable the entire time - especially Samantha! This was invaluable to me since I have suffered significant facial trauma in the past! This father & son "dynamic dental duo" provided me with completely orchestrated care across both offices and throughout the process. In either office - the staff is absolutely incredible--friendly, patient, and so supportive. They truly go above and beyond to make you feel at ease, which made a life changing procedure much less stressful. The attention to detail, compassion, and teamwork really stood out. The results have exceeded my expectations. My smile looks amazing, feels natural, and has completely restored my confidence. On Friday evening, the weekend before Christmas my crown broke. I knew I would need to wait until the following Wednesday to get in to see a dentist. I called Dr. Christianson's office to listen to the answer machine to see when the would be opened. The recording stated that any existing patients with a dental emergency can call the doctor at home or his cell phone and gave the phone numbers! I called he answered, asked me if I was in pain, and if I could be in his office the next day, Saturday at noon! He met me and fixed it. I have never seen such dedicated before. Even though I clearly communicated what I wanted done, they refused to check for cavities or do a general cleaning unless I allowed them to do some expensive scaling and root planing first. When I explained that I see a licensed periodontist for that, they claimed they couldn't do anything due to their "policy". Their "comprehensive examination" solely consisted of measuring the pockets of my gums and taking a set of bitewings. For this, they charged my insurance company $214 for what amounted to a wasted visit (why is it that every general dentist insists on being your periodontist too?) Thanks to this experience, I'll be having my periodontist take care of any cavities and fillings going forward and avoiding greedy dentists like this.

Like a lot of people, I never enjoyed going to the dentist (who does, right?), but Dr. Haley somehow made the entire long process of getting fillings, relaxing, seemingly short, and easy. She is so gentle, detailed, kind, and genuine, that I drove over an hour to see her to have some fillings done that I had been putting off because of the pandemic. She is an expert who truly loves helping her patients with their dental health, and it shines through in all that she does. I recommend her for both adults and children, as she is incredibly kind and caring to the tenth power. She uses some of the best BPA-free materials, and has newer technologies like DIAGNOdent to detect cavities accurately, which a lot of other dentists don't have. She also takes ample time for her patients, answers all questions, and never rushes her appointments. Her office also offers patients everything from themed rooms (Star Wars, Space, Music, etc.) herbal tea, blankets, and massage chairs, to Pandora music and ceiling-mounted TVs with Netflix movies with headphones to pass time during dental treatments. Who would have thought going to the dentist for fillings would be on par with a spa day or a mini vacation. The staff is amazing and super kind as well; I could literally hear them smiling over the phone whenever I called to make an appointment.
