I waited months for Dr. McGavin's office to be completed, and it was well worth the wait! He and his staff are the best. Dr. McGavin is very proactive in offering advice for your dental care. Kitty, the hygienist, is thorough and extremely nice. The two of them have worked together for several years. They recommended a mouth guard to protect my teeth from damage during nighttime grinding and explained how the guard will work. My experience with the front desk staff has always been pleasant. Overall great first experience at White Palm Dental. I was new to the area and needed a new dentist. I saw that Dr McGavin was a military veteran and had a family history of dentistry and decided to make his practice my new primary dental facility. The office is designed beautifully and all the staff were so warm and receptive! The equipment and technology are all new and current! I love the fact that there is a tv on the ceiling to watch while having a cleaning or any other dental procedure! My cleaning was with Chelsea and she did amazing. Dr McGavin was so nice. Beware of this dentists unethical business practices. Known to do extra work on your teeth and not disclose the extra cost or the fact that your dental insurance will not cover the work leaving you to pay the extra cost out of pocket. The response from the owner is a complete lie. We left our old dentist as they were not in-network with our insurance. We have gone back with them as they are truly transparent and ethical. They do NOT say they will do any work without finding out if the insurance covers it and if the patient will cover it. The fact that you are willing to write a multi-paragraph reply clearly shows how far you are willing to go to attempt to cover your behind knowing you are at fault. read more

Everyone in this office was over the top nice and professional. They squeezed me in with an emergency extraction as a new patient! During routine dental cleaning appointment I was told I had a cavity that needed treatment--despite the fact that it did not appear on my X-ray at all and no pain was present. I was pressured to proceed with a procedure that, based on later professional opinions, was not at all necessary. What troubled me most was how quickly treatment was pushed without clear evidence or explanation. No alternative options, no watch-and-wait approach--just an immediate upsell to drilling and billing. Dr. Lance McGavin prioritizes profit over patient care, recommending procedures that are questionable at best and unnecessary at worst. read more

Had an appointment to have a crown looked at and Dr. McGavin decided to wait until I returned from out of town, so I wouldn't be left with a temp for two weeks. He was in the room all of five minutes, no formal exam, and billed my insurance. They didn't pay so I was sent a bill for $38.11. I called and he wouldn't take the time to talk to me as he's "too busy" today. The receptionist said it was owed so I paid. Lesson learned. read more

Most thorough and painless teeth cleaning I've ever experienced plus I learned things I never knew about teeth and gum care. They did full X-rays, pictures and checked the pocket depths. He did an exam after the dental hygienist was done and found a cavity so I came back to address it and that also was painless. Very friendly and professional staff that treated me exceptionally. My only exception was the prices were a little high. We don't have dental insurance and they offer an annual plan that covers cleanings along with 20% off any orher Dental work so that helps. I highly recommend this place. We live in Palm Bay so it's a drive but worth it to get such great service. read more
