You can also go in and talk about what you think you need, and they will give you suggestion and ideas on how to do things quicker, cheaper and more robustly. You can buy single or multiple screws, in just about every size and thread, and everything i've ever needed has been in stock - from bird food to cable to key cutting and paint. They cut pieces of wood to specific dimensions for a small amount of money, and this makes most things much easier. They work in both metric and imperial measurements. It is a great place for whatever odds and ends you may ever need.

They cater for tradesmen but also for the general public and they are so unbelievably helpful and will advise you on what you need for a certain job. You can also just buy one or two of something rather than a whole packet unlike its competitors homease and b and q! They do key-cutting while you wait too. There is plenty of parking at the side of the store, which is situated on Ock Street.

It doesn't matter what sort of DIY your trying to do there is always someone there who has the necessary knowledge to help you. It's only a small store but they make the most of the space and it's packed full of stuff, which although not as cheap as the superstores is worth it for the back up you get. The most handy thing they have is off to the side of the store. If you want wood cut to size they have a wall mounted cutter and will happily cut boards and planks to your exact requirements. I've not been here in some time but they certainly know their stuff and it's worth using them over anyone else in the area.

Up on the mezzanine is furniture and bathrooms together with more homeware type stuff as well. Downstairs there is an area towards the front of the shop that sells seasonal things - garden furniture in the summer and Christmas trees in the winter. Staff are helpful and at the weekends they have staff on the shop floor there to help you which is nice. Usually have plenty of 10% days as well, just keep an eye out for the signs.
