I hired JGS late May 2021 to tear down & rebuild a room addition. I met with the owner, Josh which…read morehe quoted $32K. This was a fair price so i signed a contract and gave him $15K to get started. A week went by in which the owner e-mailed me and stated that all the supplies needed were ordered. Several weeks went by in which i called and asked what was going on. Josh stated that he was waiting on the engineer was was backed up. I waited again a few weeks, and the same excuse. This went back and forth for months up until November 2021 when we finally got approval to start. Room was torn down, and the frame work started. Paid an additional $10K based on agreed contract. Work came to a halt because of so called needed supplies which Josh stated earlier that he ordered everything in early May 2021. Met with Josh the owner on March 5, 2022 to discuss plans on what we need to do to finish. Josh stated that he owes monies to the employees and asked for help to pay them so they can finish. I agreed, and gave him a check for $8K. Josh stated that the work will start back up on Monday, March 7th, 2022 which did not happen. I e-mailed Josh who stated that he will get back with me. On Wednesday March 8, 2022, i received an e-mail from Josh the owner that he was closing the doors. Nice to know this after he cashed the $8K check. He is still in business, and refuses to return my $8K. I had to hire other contractors to finish the project at over $11,000. I found out that Josh the owner purchased a restaurant in early 2020 which he was taking the monies received for projects and putting it into the restaurant which failed anyway. Much more to the story, but this is the main scenario. He will probably tell you i screwed him or i am a disgruntled employee same as he told me about his poor reviews. Don't be a fool like me. Reviews do have truth to them. Stay far away from this company. Pictures below is how he left the room addition after taking $33K of my money.

Claims to have closed his business. His contractors did an great job on my kitchen remodel in 2020…read moreso we hired him to replace 2 decks on our house. He took the 2/3 down payment, tore down the decks to the frame. Stated the materials didn't come in until November '21 and that we'd be first on the schedule in March '22. He never acquired the materials as his account was past due. It took us 2 1/2 months of emails before he finally admitted he couldn't do the job due to his financial situation and that he closed his business. We were left having to hire another company to replace the decks and we were out thousands of dollars. Filed suit against him and he never appeared in court. Received default judgement. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!

Their work is good but they didn't show up when they said they would no less than 6 times, and this…read morewas a tiny job. Really nice people, just bad customer service. Really frustrating to say the least.

I had water come in my basement Sept. 4th of last year. A crew came in that night to do demo. I…read moregave them half the money to do rest of the demo and remodel in the middle of October. Someone showed up a couple of weeks later to remove the drywall and replace it. After 2 months of trying to get someone back to work on the basement again I finally got a date from Ben then to no surprise no one showed up. Someone showed up later that week to texture the drywall that was replaced, paint, and put new trim up. However, texture was not done, they just painted the mudded drywall and told me he couldn't match it. I asked about doing chair rail and Ben told the subcontractor no. I acknowledged that the chair rail was not part of the insurance claim and was willing to pay extra but was still told no, they wouldn't do it. I was then told that they put new trim up however they just put the water damaged trim they took off back up. I was lied to by the subcontractor and my project manager then was told there was a miscommunication. I was very clear that I wanted all the trim replaced and was told to my face by the subcontractor it was new and it was definitely not. After all this I made the decision to not have them finish any work that was left to be done. I asked for a final invoice which included installing NEW trim, painting a room that I painted, etc. In the end there was over $1,500 of charges they did not do. These are the most unprofessional, unreliable, "business" people I have ever experienced. Make sure to do ALL your research before hiring a contractor!
