The first meal at Jasper, super happy! The restaurant has a spacious interior, and you can also choose to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful scenery while having breakfast. Personally, I highly recommend sitting outside! I ordered the Canuck Classic, which is simply toasted bread with roasted potatoes and sausage. Every flavor was excellent, and after finishing the meal, I felt great! Additionally, I ordered a hot oat milk latte. The coffee was on the bitter side due to dark roasting, which I personally didn't like very much. I came here for breakfast where you order inside the restaurant and food will be served to where you're eating. I ordered Canuck Classic, Egg BLT Baguette, Berry Blaster Smoothie, and Velvet Grizzly. The Velvet Grizzly was 6 oz of espresso with steam cream and white chocolate. It was pretty bitter and I couldn't taste the white chocolate at all, which I had to add sugar to the drink. The egg BLT baguette was delicious and definitely a huge portion. The Canuck Classic was okay, the potatoes were undercooked and not crispy on the outer layer. The berry blaster was delicious and I love the combination of berries with pineapple juice. They have patio seating and are pet friendly, which I will recommend if you're in the area with your dog as not many restaurants are pet friendly. read more

Came for breakfast on June 24 and they are open for dine in. Hours are 7 to 5 everyday at posted on Yelp. There are both indoor and patio seating, but it was raining on the day I came so only indoor seating was available. Since the cafe is located a little outside Jasper proper, there was plenty of street parking, and the inside dining area was quite spacious as well. The menu was a little bit more limited than the menu pictures I saw previously posted on Yelp. There were no omelets or skillets available, for example. I wasn't super hungry, so I opted for the Canuck Platter ($13.50) which is your basic breakfast platter with eggs, your choice of protein, potatoes, and toast. The sausage was really soft and tender and my favorite part of the meal. The eggs were soft scrambled the way I like but were quite bland, as were the potatoes. I would've preferred a little bit more salt. My friends went with the veggie breakfast burrito ($14.25) and thought it was just okay as well. There was a lot of lettuce inside (unexpected especially because it wasn't in the description) and no hash browns (which were in the description), so he didn't get what he was expecting or wanted. read more

Breakfast here is very good. Breakfast burrito didn't get the raves the pancakes did, but it was a solid effort. The pancakes, especially with a side of two eggs (that somehow became three when delivered by the waitstaff) and bacon didn't knock it out of the park either, but something about them, while eaten outside on the patio on a summer morning, was just about right. Decided to stop here on our way out and glad we did. They have a great patio/venue that feels cozy. When I first looked at the menu I was a little underwhelmed with the options but after trying the food I am glad they have a small menu and are damn good at cooking it. Everything tasted great and it just felt like they put effort into the preparation and ingredients of their food and drinks. I had the Egg BLT and they packed that sandwich with lots of bacon. At first I was skeptical if it would be filling but it sure was. My fiancé got the Canuck breakfast and it came with the best sausage I've had in a very long time. The pancakes were delish and the salmon baguette was also very good, although I couldn't eat it all and now I get to have it for lunch. This place couldn't be more up my alley! Not only do they offer stellar cafe options with beautiful latte art, delicious brunch options, but they sell local art, mala beads and lots of yogi goods, they also have Mountain View outside dining and have all the info for local yoga classes, reiki and other wellness groups. We had a small stack of Archie's famous pancakes, and they were indeed super fluffy. The wild berry compote was delicious too! They came with a side of bacon or sausage, your choice. We also split a veggie sammy, a VLT, to be exact with the most delicious avocado ranch spread we couldn't get enough of! This was on a crispy baguette. Yum! Hubs went with a matcha latte with seasonal pumpkin art, while I warmed up with a pot of herbal tea. We purchased some Buddha necklaces with tassels for gifts and a candle! Dropped in before we headed down The Icefields Highway. Had the Archie's Famous Pancakes and they were so fluffy and delicious. The wild berry compote was perfect not too sweet and some tartness. There's street parking available in front. It was a little nutty when we arrived and the signage was confusing. It said to seat yourself and we waited for a table to open up. One had opened up and the waitress told us she will clean it off for us but another group walked in and seated themselves at our table. A "Wait To Be Seated" would probably be less confusing, just a thought. read more

Came here for breakfast while in Jasper (since our hotel, Tonquin inn, doesn't do complimentary breakfast). Nice cozy place to warm up especially since it was really chilly outside. This is a rather large breakfast place attached to a hotel. And for good reason, this place by 9am was packed with about 40-50 people!! Felt bad for out waitress. Working ALL the tables, getting their orders, topping off their coffee, bringing the bill, chatting it up with guests, and still having a smile on her face. Just commendable. We ordered their famous pancakes as well as their salmon bagel and their organic coffee. The pancakes were a good size, came with a stack of 3 with a side of berry compote, whipped cream and syrup. Pancakes were light and fluffy. Berry compte added a different flavor to it. Overall it was really good. Salmon bagel was good too. Salmon slices were large and really fresh. My only knock is the coffee. Their coffee was so light. It was almost tasteless... only thing it was good for was that it was hot. You would think a breakfast place would have better coffee. We walked here from our hotel in Jasper (it was a much longer walk than we anticipated! But nevertheless we were pleasantly surprised to stumble across this off-beat funky find in Jasper. The place is super adorable, adorned with skulls and various decorations, the tables are thick poured polyurethane/resin which look really neat, and overall has that neighborhood-hippie-mixed-with-local-dive-diner vibe going on. Tough to describe, but really great. Walking through the front door, you can head into the restaurant dining room on the left, or peruse the gift shop on the right. The gift shop is packed full of mugs, shirts, and other fun Wicked Cup paraphernalia for purchase. There's also outside seating available, but since it was so early we opted for indoor seating as the day hadn't yet started to warm up. There were plenty of breakfast options here, including many vegetarian offerings, which surprised us. We ordered a french press coffee because we were feeling fancy and patiently waited for it to arrive. French press usually takes longer to serve, since beans are being ground and steeping - however it felt like an interminable wait for that warm cup of coffee. The service wasn't the most prompt - not sure I'd say it was slow, but definitely unhurried. We were there around 9am, and the room was only about half full. To order, we split one of the egg sandwiches and and order of pancakes. The Egg BLT Baguette was awesome - free range eggs, Canadian double smoked bacon, mixed greens, tomato, and white cheddar cheese with chipotle mayo sauce - YUM! The ciabatta bread it was served on was delicious too! Checked off all the warm and savory boxes with ease! The chipotle mayo had a little bit of heat, could have used more, but it was really good. Also, it was super filling so I'm very glad we shared it! I'm normally a savory over sweet person 99% of the time, and almost exclusively savory when it comes for breakfast. Pancakes are my weakness - I don't order them often (because I usually need a nap after eating them). We were on vacation, hiking for hours everyday, and damn it, I wanted pancakes! Oh man. These bad boys were the way to go - fluffy, warm, buttery somehow - as the name suggests, they're literally the perfect pancake. The description absolutely says it all, "Archie's Famous Pancakes: mind-blowing perfect stack of pancakes made fresh to order, topped with wind berry compote, whipped cream, and side choice of canadian double smoked bacon or sausage". For my 800th Yelp Review, it's dedicated to the most important meal of the day. Unfortunately for me, often times dinner for me is more important since its end of the day and time to decompress. We found a place in Jasper, Alberta that served a very memorable breakfast, had a really positive vibe, and had some wise quotations from Buddha on how to achieve happiness. That place is Wicked Cup, which is a clear 5-star breakfast place for me! LOCATION Wicked Cup was connected to our hotel, Maligne Lodge. Its about 15 minutes walk from downtown Jasper on Connaught Drive. DRINKS Wife had the Wicked Haze (organic Earl Grey tea with vanilla and steamed milk), which was pretty good - almost like a smooth tea latte. I had the Canadiano, which is basically brewed coffee with a shot of espresso. Definitely kept me wide awake for the 3.5-hr drive back to Banff! FOOD The Italian Sausage burrito was the best breakfast burrito I've had so far. The sausage was mild yet bursting with flavor. There was a thin free-range egg omelet lining the inner crispy tortilla shell along with small bits of hash browns, jack and cheddar cheeses, and ham and bacon. The sausage was definitely the star though! 5 stars Wife had the smoked salmon egg baguette, or SLT. Toasted soft bruschetta bread with eggs over medium and some tasty salmon with onions, greens, and avocado ranch sauce. It was unlike any other smoked salmon sandwich I've had and was equally awesome. 5 stars A great place for breakfast and brunch in Jasper. Wicked Cup is as good as it gets in Jasper! They had a delicious breakfast sandwich, quality coffee and teas (LOVED the chai), outdoor seating and a lot of street/lot parking. The pastries looked delicious! Note: they are part of a hotel, opposite to a separate sit down restaurant. They also seem to have a bit of an identity crisis - half the cafe is a store selling boxed snacks, scarves, ceramics, and some refrigerated food. They definitely have personality! Jasper is the cutest little ski town, so as you would guess, the food here is nothing special. But Wicked Cup is a hidden gem and a must visit for breakfast if you are in town. read more

I was not overly impressed with the latte at WickedCup. There was a clear bitter taste but it was not so bad that I could not drink it. In the end, the latte was nothing special. However, it was acceptable and provided the burst of energy I needed. Based on the location of where it is (with the lack of options and away from hipster cities), I am going to grade it on the curve and give it 3 stars. Good for the price. This place is off the main strip of restaurants a little closer to the edge of town. My friend and I both got the classic breakfast with sausage. The sausage was wonderful- thick and juicy and you get 3! They serve loose leaf, organic tea that is full of flavour. I didn't like the homefries- they were not crispy on the outside and lacked seasoning/flavour. A little rosemary, parsley would have gone a long way. read more

We enjoyed our breakfast. The food was good, the portions were fine as well. The food tasted good. My wife needs to be gluten free. We are used to being charged extra for GF items - but $4 for two slices of toast really is excessive. Usually the charge for this is about $2. Before you go, please note that this is somewhat a "self-serve" restaurant. You line up in order to get your order taken. You then get a number and the meal is delivered. What isn't clear is that coffee is self-serve, as are condiments, hot sauce, etc. In other words, the only thing the server does is deliver your meal to your table. If you want jam for your toast, etc. it is up to you to get it. In light of this, I found the "suggested tip" for your server being 18%, 20% or 22% as being somewhat self-serving. Yes, you are given an option for "other" - but to feel that delivering the food to your table is worth at least 18% of your bill is a bit much. read more

This lovely cafe was a wonderful treat to visit after a beautiful walk around the town of Jasper. I had an oat milk latte (oat milk wasn't on the menu, but I asked and they did have it!) and was exited to see the beautiful art the barista drew on my latte! Everything about the presentation of our drinks was perfect, and the latte was delicious. The seating out on the patio was great! They had really comfy chairs and it felt very welcoming. We have now gone here two days in a row and plan to return tomorrow! It is a convenient 5 minute walk from our Airbnb and offers a wonderful selection of coffees, teas and cold drinks in addition to serving breakfast and lunch. My husband loves the specialty earl grey latte that they do, and I love the decaf, peppermint mocha. We both enjoyed the breakfast burritos (he had sausage and I had the vegetarian with avocado) and plan to return tomorrow to grab some coffee and pancakes before we hit the road to drive back toward Lake Louise. Was pretty bummed about that since I ordered the sandwich primarily for the avocado. The butternut squash soup was pretty good. Coffee was ok.
