This winery was hopping when we got there but were greeted immediately upon walking into their main room. We both got the slushies and settled in on their gorgeous deck over looking a gorgeous lake. The only thing missing was live music but we were too early for it. Tastings are $5 and they do have a food menu that we noticed looked pretty good from what people were ordering.

Weird for winery to not allow any inside seating unless you buy a table for the rescue then allowing the rescue to be so rude to their customers

When the band started playing, they were loud and it became difficult to talk. Also, you don't get cell phone reception inside and there isn't and guest WiFi. Bathroom was clean. We were invited into this large bar space with ample seating and easy access to another attached large space that had even more seating which led to even another large seating space outside with a view of the valley. Von Jakob offers, wine, beer, and limited bourbon which we were told was really a one time offering, and once the bourbon is gone, that's it. We were only there for a tasting and did pick up a few bottles. I never felt rushed and the host was knowledgeable and offered information on all that was available as the tasting list was extensive. There was no live music while we were there but I would not hesitate to come back for that. A solid experience.

Their wine flights are organized in a cute carrier, and it was only $10 for a flight. You do have to check your empty flight back in to get your deposit back. It was not the best wine on the trail, in my opinion. There was some cute wine merchandise, similar to what is sold at other wineries. The women's bathroom was spacious and clean. I would return, especially on a warm day when the patio is open.

The server was really friendly and very knowledgeable about the meads and what was in them (we have some allergies). We got a flight of 4 meads that came on a cute hanger with a handle. We were able to sit on their patio at a table under an umbrella. There was lots more seating on picnic tables in the yard as well. They were dog-friendly with several pups visiting on-leash. My boyfriend really loved the meads. I don't usually like sweet drinks but I liked a berry "Jammed Up" mead. We took a couple of bottles home. The merchandise is top-notch, with hoodies and lots of nice stuff with bees on it. I will definitely return. Adding this place as a stop during our Shawnee Hills Wine Trail girls trips.
