We have been going to this winery for many years. It is one that still has free tasting of all their wines. All of the wine is great and I enjoyed our lunch. You can eat inside or outside and I love sitting outside under the trees. They are knowledgeable about wine and are very friendly. read more

Always a good time. Great service. Good food. On the weekends, wonderful live entertainment. Free tastings. A laid back time and good experience. A must see. read more

This is a fun, rustic spot near Cape Girardeau, Missouri. This is a family run business that operates the winery with great pride. They offer free tastings with options from dry to sweet. It is in a rural area with both old and modern seating areas. They have live music on weekends, but it was cancelled, due to the nonstop rain. We Like dry wines, and we chose their rose. We were visiting our son at SEMO and were looking for something new and fun for adults. We were glad we went there. read more

I love this place. We have been going here since the 1990's. The original owners built the restaurant area over the years to what it is now. The current owners are an awesome couple who have kept the ambiance. The food is also good. We had company and this is where we went to eat, she loved it. read more

First time visit and was not disappointed. Had a lovely little wine tasting session. Bought two different bottles, one sweet white and one dry red to go with lunch. Nice variety of lunch sandwiches and appetizers. Fried cheese was extremely tasty. Service was attentive and yet not overwhelming. Will visit again when the weather is nicer to enjoy the outdoor experience. read more

We lucked into stopping by the River Ridge Winery by chance and what a find! This place is a MUST SEE!!! It's a small, locally owned place. Super cute. We were the first people there and were welcomed graciously and offered a free wine tasting. Our attendant was informative and friendly; she made wine tasting fun and educational. During lunch, the owner came out and introduced himself. We had a lovely conversation about the history of the winery and about wine making. Also, he offered us a tour of the facility after we were done eating! He showed us how the wine was made and invited us to see the vineyards...what an amazing experience! This place is awesome! I will definitely put it on my list of places to visit again. Not only because of how awesome and adorable it was, but also for the people who work there. Can't say enough about this place! read more

Pros: -Charming Locale -Intimate Restaurant -Outbuilding with live music -Beautiful patio with crackling fire -Good Wine (in fact, I'd say it's the best Missouri wine I've ever tasted) -Cute Gift Shop Cons: -Hard to find (and the website is more confusing than helpful--pick one address, and make sure it shows up on a GPS!) -Third World Restrooms. If you have the wherewithal to make wine and run a restaurant, you should be able to sort out your plumbing (rural location notwithstanding). Having large, open containers of used toilet paper in the stalls is not only unsanitary, it kills the mood. -Cranky staff (ahem, older woman who works in the tasting room, I'm looking at you). -Stingiest pour I've ever seen in my life. If you want people to buy your wine, make sure they can actually taste it. -Hordes of drunk women with a bachelorette party stumbling around the tasting room chirping "I like sweet wines! I like sweet wines! I WANT SANGRIA!!!!!" -Raunchy gifts in the gift shop (a ring shaped bar of soap called "Weener Kleener"?....what kind of gift shop is this, exactly?) Overall, if I lived in the area, I'd most likely be back. read more

Favorite place from my short stay in Sikeston! I love the friendly staff and nice ambiance of the winery! The wine tasting was made fun by the host. There are a couple of gems on their list! I would greatly recommend a visit to the winery if you're passing through or in the area! Yummy lunch/dinner too! I think the chipotle panini was my favorite! read more

Just came back from California and decided to take my parents to a winery close by. Let me say we were greeted by one of the owners, Denise. She was warm and charming and we learned about the winery history and lots of wine facts. I can honestly say I liked every single wine they have from dry to sweet! I can now tell my friend in California I am a grown up in the wine world. :) We sat out in the patio area and enjoyed the "made from scratch" desserts with a bottle of Red Pig and a very nice conversation with the chef and baker (Wish I could remember her name!) . Left with a case of wine, 2 glasses for my parents, a fantastic memory that will last a lifetime. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon! read more

I've been visiting River Ridge for the last 15 years. I remember the first time I visited and it was just the little white house. Anyone who has visited has probably heard Jerry's jokes and he is quite the host. He loves his guests and has a passion for the business. Recently I brought a car load of family down to Southeast Missouri hitting some of my favorite spots from when I went to SEMO. It is amazing how much they have grown. They have a dining room, small gift shop and tasting room, two pavilions and a large open air patio. It was cold, so we shared a bottle of wine in their heated pavilion. One of the best parts of this winery is the remote location. It is in the middle of the woods basically, but you can walk up the hill to the vineyards too. Wine is not necessarily my drink of choice, but going here is always enjoyable. read more

This is indeed a great find. I guess I always knew there was a winery in Commerce, but I didn't have any interest in wine until I moved to California...because I live in California. Duh! The cafe has tasty food (I remember something about a grilled cheese focacia concoction with grilled onions and fontina cheese), and the wine tasting is generous and informative on Missouri wines. read more

This was our last stop on our SE Missouri winery tour. The selection is enormous! The staff is very friendly, good joke of the day, & risqué jokes were hilarious also! Will definitely stop back by if we are in the area again! read more

River Ridge Winery - Last stop on winery tour! - Wineries Near Me - Scott City, Missouri

Small, family owned winery. They are in a region whether there can grow well known varieties like Merlot and Chardoney as well as Missouri wines. No fee for tasting, and we started everything. The owner walked us through the tasting, and was very informative and friendly. They have a cafe on sure and the food smelled delicious. It is s little out of the way, but well worth the drive. read more

We picked it on a whim while taking a long road trip. They had lots of signs on their route there from Benton. Food was Awesome and fairly priced. Wine was just ok because I prefer sweet and their's are dry and semi dry. Gift shop was cute and also well priced. Terraced seating area was beautiful. They also had 2 large covered seating areas and a small indoor area. They even had a live band. . When we left I noticed their little garden of herbs, tomatoes and peppers. I'm certain they were using it. read more

River Ridge Winery - From the patio of River Ridge Winery. - Wineries Near Me - Scott City, Missouri

I just don't have enough good things to say about this gem! Every time I'm there I feel right at home. The owner, Jerry treats every single guest like they're a close friend. The food is great and they often have live bands outside for entertainment. No cell phone reception has never bothered me when I'm there... Who wants to be on the phone when you're enjoying great wine and the company of friends? A full day stay at River Ridge is hands down my favorite way to spend a lazy Sunday :) read more

The food is outstanding u have to try the nachos and burger! Another must is a bottle of there garlic grapeseed oil. I cook with it all the time instead of olive oil read more

This establishment is long overdue for another praising review! What a sweet gem in the woods! Everyone must make time to visit this little slice of paradise. Indeed a top notch experience. Where do I begin...We thoroughly enjoyed the ride to the winery and as we pulled up we were dazzled with the nicest looking outdoor patio pavillion. Immediately we were enchanted with the place & it only got better. As we entered the tasteful gift shop we were greeted by Denise & invited to have a wine tasting provided by Carly. The fun just got better as we tasted some of the finest wines and learned a great deal of the history about the winery. Had THE Nicest visit with Rob and then we enjoyed the best bread, cheese platter with the yummiest garlic infused grape seed oil. Along with a bottle (by the bottle is the best value!) of 2009 Chardonel mmm yummy wine. Best money spent in a long time! Incredibly wonderful atmosphere & tastiest wine! Im immensely pleased and thankful for all the people who make River Ridge Winery possible. Can barely wait to visit again. For all who read this, youre in for a real treat when you take the time to enjoy River Ridge Winery. Cheers! read more

Everything about this place is fantastic! Jerry and Joannie treat all of their guests like an old friend. The food and wines are great. I could spend all day here (and I have before). It's in a very peaceful location right by the Mississippi. There's no cell phone reception, which some might see as an inconvenience, but who needs technology when you're surrounded by awesome friends, food and wine? I love River Ridge Winery! You'll feel right at home. read more

A little out of the way, but what a gem! Live music on the weekends and great selections of wine. They have a Yule Cabin in the winter, but I really enjoy sitting out on their patio in the summer. I have not eaten here yet. read more

River Ridge offers a free wine tasting of all of their wines before you decide. You can then take your wine to a nice outside seating area by their country road. The service was friendly and the building and shop was pretty cool. The sweet and semi-sweet wines were pretty good, but the dry were not. Most wineries in the area are not good at making dry wines though. The dry rose is pretty good. read more

What a great find this little winery was. Wonderful wines!!! I try to make a visit here every time I am back in the area. Several years ago they added a small cafe that has a wonderful selections of items for lunch. The owners are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. While the location is off the beaten path it is certainly worth a visit. read more

River Ridge Winery, great atmosphere, great food, wonderful entertainment and fabulous wine.

I am from out of town and wanted something to do other than sit in a hotel room while in Sikeston. Wasn't too bad of a drive and had the most pleasant experience! We were greeted by the owner when coming from the parking lot and chatted a bit. He explained how he came upon the place and how they make their wine. The tasting bar was good with nice workers but by far the patio was the best. The landscaping and sitting areas were great for the beautiful day we had! No one was sitting on top of each other being too crowded and the live music gave it a laid back feel! The wine its self wasn't my favorite, everything had a smoky taste i felt but Im certainly no expert!!! One thing I wish we did was get some food there because it looked amazing when it was brought out for others! We had a wonderful time and really suggest people visit. read more

We recently held my Mother's 90th Birthday Party at River Ridge Winery. The food and wine were very, very good. Denise and her staff provided excellent service. Denise was laser responsive to questions and information leading up to the event. Highly recommend River Ridge Winery. read more

Came here to watch the Great Eclipse. Pretty nice place. Need to come back for full service menu!

I live in the middle of southwestern mi. wine country and sorry to say but I prefer this winery to any of the wineries that are available to me. My sister and I use to visit an aunt who lived not far from this winery years ago. We went in search for her property and came across this winery. Wow what a gem we found for 2 wine lovers. And Jerry was an amazing host and great educator of the mississippi grapes and wine process. I learned more from him in 1.5 hours about grapes and wine making than I have from the wineries surrounding me. I wish we had time to eat lunch at the winery but we had to head back to Mi that afternoon. My sister and I should not wait another 25 yrs before we head back down to the Cape area. We will definitely be back to really enjoy the winery and what it has to offer. Thanks Jerry for being a great host with the funny jokes! But most of all for the story of my aunt, her oxygen, her son, and the christmas tree. read more
