Michael has been an indispensable part of my team for managing my hypermobility. I began training with Michael for 8 months, after I was diagnosed with hypermobility after a series of related chronic and acute injuries -- shin splints from distance running and a freak finger joint injury from picking up a piece of luggage. Those injuries prevented me from participating in my usual sports (running and climbing), and I had gained 10% of my body weight. I knew I needed to radically overhaul how I moved and trained, focusing on strength training, but I basically had zero experience weight training. Another challenge with hypermobility are proprioception issues -- struggling to have an awareness of where your body is in space. Translation: I'm bad at gauging my form, so I knew I needed professional help. I chose to work with Michael because of his Active Release Technique training, as he was able to assess how well or poorly my muscles were engaging before we began our sessions and to help release trigger points. My hypermobility means that my connective tissue is too stretchy, leading to my joints having an extended range of motion and to my body recruiting the wrong muscle groups to overcompensation for that extended range of motion. This means I'm more likely to injure myself, and Michael helped me navigate those injuries and understand how I could modify movements in the gym and in my daily life to reduce the frequency of my injuries. Working with Michael, I made huge progress in my fitness goals: I gained muscle mass, lost all of the fat I'd put on in those months I'd been injured and then some, and became strong and confident that I could move safely while being physically active, focusing on cycling, walking, and hiking. Michael always planned my workouts such that I was getting stronger without overdoing things, as I'm also more likely to experience delayed onset muscle soreness, which was never a problem with his workouts. On my own, I have a tendency to do too much too quickly, so I can't stress enough how much I appreciated his slow and steady plan that led to my being so successful. read more

Michael is the real deal when it comes to understanding the best ways for you to move and take care of your body with the right kind of activity no matter what age you are. He is attentive to understanding where you are in your fitness journey. I used to be a big long distance runner 20 years ago and that has caused ongoing issues with my knees. I appreciate that he developed a weight lifting program for me that not only helped to make sure that I didn't injure myself or aggravate my knees but also it was so targeted I burned double the calories in the workout than I was before working with him! I also appreciate that he takes the time to continue to learn more about what is hurting or causing physical pain and strain. I had some lingering shoulder pain that was preventing me from being able to raise my arm completely and Michael used a form of active release technique that literally made me feel like a brand new person (who could finally raise her arm again!). He is professional, caring and will push you through with the right motivating words. And he's hilarious, great to be around. When you're looking for someone to make sure they take care of the whole of you and not just a short fix, it should be with someone who uses all aspects of their knowledge to guide you through your individual journey with customized programs and treatment. No need to look any further than Whole Body working directly with Michael! read more

I have been training with Austin for about three years now, and the experience has been fantastic throughout. He's been super flexible in managing a variety of different training constraints and goals -- from triathalon training, to "dumbells at home" during COVID lockdown, to helping tweak workouts to fit with hotel gyms -- is just generally a blast to hang out with. The other thing that cannot be expressed enough is how helpful his bodywork skills are. I am not sure I fully appreciated how important and helpful it would be when we first started working together, but it has really made a huge difference in alleviating a number of aches and pains that crop up from day to day life. read more

Michael has been a phenomenal trainer. Working with him has truly changed my life over the last 13 months. I'd lifted weights some in the past, but he's given me the education, tailored regimen, and continuous encouragement that I've needed to make the most of strength training. Michael is eager to answer my questions (and I have many) and use them as teaching moments. It's so evident that Michael is deeply knowledgeable and passionate about the work he does. We've worked together through minor injuries, and he's incredibly attentive to misalignment and areas of tension in my body. The results have been fantastic over the last year. He's helped me dramatically improve my diet, lessen my drinking, lose fat, get much stronger, and gain muscle mass. One final thing: Michael is a genuinely wonderful person that you want to be around. I could not recommend him highly enough. read more

Best in the business! Worked with me around injuries, super personalized, and always incorporated release techniques and elements of physical therapy. Can't highlight enough how much nuance Michael brings around the type of movements (e.g. angles to tackle each muscle group) and how thoughtful he is round adjustments of exercises and plans every couple of weeks based on progress. read more

Working with Austin has been truly life changing. Being in the best shape and the strongest of your life in your 40s?! What?! He's even been able to improve my posture which I been to so many practitioners over the years to try and help me with. He also has taught me about nutrition and helps me think about what I need to do outside of sessions. He has also helped me get more comfortable on my own in the gym. I could keep going... Honestly, don't hesitate! He is thoughtful, knowledgeable, effective, kind, and so fun to work with. read more

I've been training with Michael for two years. Michael brings a unique skill set to my training sessions, accelerating my strength training and overall health and well-being. Over the past two decades, I've adopted terrible training habits and form - a byproduct of getting older, a lack of knowledge about muscle groups and neurology, and previous back, knee, and shoulder surgeries. As a result, I could not complete more than one pull-up or decent squat, and I often recruited the wrong muscles to complete a basic bench press set. Finally, I was constantly injuring myself. Michael's deep knowledge of the human body, combined with his experiences with back pain, has taken my training program to a new level. Michael builds a weekly custom training program that compensates for my injuries while strengthening key muscle groups. These sessions are both challenging and dynamic - they incorporate my progress, areas requiring more improvement, and my personal goals. Today, I can complete over a dozen pull-ups unassisted. I've grown muscles in my back and legs that I didn't know existed. I no longer injure myself by doing day-to-day tasks such as picking up a heavy box or my pet Corgi. Most importantly, I feel and look better. I would highly recommend Michael to anyone serious about taking their strength training to a new level, addressing lingering injuries, and wanting to lose weight and look better naked or at the beach. THANK YOU, MICHAEL!! read more

In the small amount of time I had with Austin, he was able to address the initial issue I had plus issues on my body I was oblivious to. I initially visited him in regards to some major lower back pain that intermittently occurred, specifically whenever my lower back was compressed, I would feel major sharp pain. Unfortunately, it's not an issue with an immediate remedy, but he was able to diagnose the pain and provided me with daily routines that helped A TON in the long run - he was also kind enough to educate me through the entire process. I am no expert in any way of the human body, so what he did next truly surprised me. He noticed the flexibility of my upper body, including arm motion, and neck motion, was limited to a certain extent, so he addressed this with his PDTR knowledge. We went through specific exercises and motions and the results were outstanding! My upper body felt more relaxed and fluid in a way where flexibility extended beyond what it was capable of before. Apologies for my vagueness for I'm not an expert at this, but the results will literally speak for itself. Thanks for everything Austin! read more

Austin is friendly, motivating, and truly an amazing coach to work with. I started seeing him in order to regain strength after a surgery that left physically weak. Austin built out a thoughtful, tailored workout program that really took into account my strengths, my weaknesses, and my goals. Austin met me where I was at and helped me get to the best shape of my life! The workout routines he made are fun, appropriately challenging, and thoughtfully and effectively promote strength, endurance, and hypertrophy. I learned and grew (literally and metaphorically) so dang much!! But more importantly, working with Austin changed my entire outlook on wellness and health in a way that I hope to carry with me for the rest of my life. Highly recommend. read more

Michael offers a personalized training program that takes into account your individual goals. His anatomical knowledge and attention to movement is second to none. He helped me rebuild strength after spinal surgery, and always presents new challenges. Couldn't recommend him more! read more

We trained with Austin Villamil for over 5 years. As our trainer, he has helped us get stronger by focusing on each of our needs. When I had a soft tissue injury, Austin was able to support my recovery by providing clinical massage to my forearm and wrist. Update: I came back to Michael after a few years' hiatus as a result of a hamstring injury, and just as before, he was attentive, thoughtful, and creative in helping me get back on my feet (literally, ha!). One of the best parts about working with him is that he would absolutely admit when there was something in my injury he could use outside input on, and he didn't hesitate to get it from his colleagues. He even recommended that I see another practitioner once, who he knew specialized in certain healing techniques that he thought would be helpful to me. 10/10! read more

I went to Austin because I was experiencing lower back pains that would come and go. I wasn't sure what was causing it, but I had a feeling it was related to my job (I sit on planes and desks for long hours at a time). I've even gone to a chiropractor before to try to get it fixed because it would become so painful that I couldn't stand for more than 5 minutes at a time. My sessions with my chiropractor weren't doing much, so I decided to schedule an intro session with Austin. After our very first session, I could feel a HUGE difference. Austin was thorough when he was diagnosing my pain and I could tell he was really trying to pinpoint the root cause and provide me with a long term solution. Towards the end of my session he even taught me some stretches that I could do at home to continue working on my back and keep the pain away. I would highly recommend Austin to anyone that is looking for something that actually works! read more

Michael is engaged, informed and fun to work out with. Austin is the best of the best. I'm six weeks into a six month fat loss program to get in shape for my wedding, and I have already lost four pounds of fat and gained five pounds of muscle with an overall reduction in body fat percentage of 3%. For reference I'm petite so that's a lot on my frame! I've worked with other trainers in the past, but working with Austin feels like I'm working with a combination of a personal trainer, a physical therapist and a sports nutritionist all in one. He corrects my form to prevent injury and make sure I'm getting the most out of each exercise. When I first started out he put me on a reverse diet to fix my metabolism after years of yo yo dieting and unhealthy calorie restriction habits and while I had anxiety about the process Austin was so patient and reassuring. I'm not going to lie, it is hard work, but if you're willing to make the commitment, you will see the results you want with Austin. Just trust him and trust the process. If you have the opportunity to work with Austin, Do it, you won't regret it. He's worth every penny. read more

I've been working with Austin for the past few months, and he is knowledgeable with any questions I have concerning my chronic upper back pain. He gave me advice on how to prevent it as well as stretches to remedy this issue. After hunching over a desk all day at an office, this is just what I needed. He also guides me in the physical fitness and nutrition department, setting me up with easy to follow meal plans and exercise regimens. Austin is also pleasant to talk to and very helpful. I highly recommend Austin for your physical therapy/personal training/nutrition needs. read more

When I first started working with Austin, it'd been years since I'd done any sort of strength training. I'd just gotten out of 2 years of crippling back pain resulting from some herniated discs, so wanted close supervision to make sure I wasn't inadvertently hurting myself. As I'm someone who knows very little about body mechanics, it's been awesome having Austin be my guide in building up my knowledge and confidence when it comes to working out. Austin's programs and explanations are thorough and easy for me to understand, and he knows how to continually push me while keeping workouts fun and safe. Now over half a year in, I'm impressed by the progress I've made in terms of working toward my fitness goals and of changing my outlook toward working out. Trust me - I'm the last person I ever expected to be hitting the gym multiple times a week, but yet here we are...! Thanks Austin for getting me to this point! read more

Austin helped me with questions I had about pain to my left shoulder when I did upright rows and what I should do to fix them.He was patient with me and took his time with his explanations. He even found knots in my chest and I didn't know those existed. Austin is definitely someone I'd go to see and work with more in the future. He's friendly and a really chill person to talk to even after the sessions. 10/10 recommend. read more

I've been working with Michael for over a year. I found him through a friend and former co-worker recommendation, and I'm so glad I did. We originally started training to help me build strength for a strenuous snowboarding trip in Canada. I had about 5 months to prepare, and the results were incredible. I felt stronger and more capable than ever on the mountain and credit Michael's work with allowing me to get the most out of a rare experience. While my goal was increased strength, I also found that I lost weight after a few months of training, even though I hadn't consciously changed my diet. I've had to adjust my belt down a couple notches, which came as a pleasant surprise. Working with Michael is a pleasure. He knows how to encourage rather than push. He is honest and genuine and clearly cares a lot about his work and his clients. He takes his practice seriously, attending continuing education about techniques and training programs. read more

Michael Crammond has really supplied me with invaluable knowledge. His massage therapy background blends perfectly with his strength and conditioning experience. He not only knows the anatomy of the body, but he also knows how to progress you in different ways. I am a personal trainer and he has helped me with my own clients as well. I am so grateful for the sessions that I have been able to spend with Michael and I am excited to continue learning from his expertise. He does a great job of working with me with PDTR and Massage Therapy. I highly recommend working with Whole Body Solutions because both Michael and Austin are great. read more

It was my first time working with a personal trainer and I am so glad it was with Austin Villamil. He is an exceptional personal trainer and individual that cares about his client's health and well-being dearly. He always makes sure I'm breathing correctly and doing my workouts properly so I don't injure myself in the present moment and future. I appreciate his knowledge in the field especially when I'm curious to learn about things on a scientific level. And having both experience in strength training and bodywork is a major plus! It's understanding both the Yin & Yang. :) Thanks Austin! read more

I've been training with Michael for at least 4 years now and I've stuck with him through multiple gyms and now virtually through covid. I absolutely think training with him has been worth it. He really know his stuff and works really hard to come up with a customized plan for each client. I came in with multiple previous injuries and he's helped me with finding the best path forward or referring me out to someone in his network that could help. I've had the pleasure of working with Austin a few times as well and enjoyed my time with him too. These guys are great and I'd definitely recommend working with them. read more

I've been working with Michael for almost a year now and things are great. With his help I've been able to move beyond (almost all) my dysfunctions, so now we spend 95% of our time just making progress. Michael's program design is a big part of what keeps me coming back. Every 5-6 weeks he designs a new program for me, and each one fits into a bigger strategy. Also - Diakadi is a great location. I love working out there and I'm probably going to use their open gym membership to work there on my own instead of my current gym. read more

Michael is the bomb. Seriously, look no further for a seasoned, experienced, and certified trainer. I was paired up with Michael at a gym he used to train out of, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I started working out with him and wanted "to be skinny" - but he truly taught me how a strong core, proper form, paying attention to breathing and the fundamentals are much more important. And through his coaching, I have changed my body like I never believed I could - I am strong, and confident in the gym - which has lead me to loose inches and body fat. He also connects with his clients, and makes you feel like you are super important to them in the hour (or two) a week you spend together. I am truly a better person for training with Michael Crammond. Go see this man! read more

Austin is a rockstar trainer who is very knowledgeable in strength training, bodywork, preventative injury training and kinesthesiolopgy. As a former triathlete and long distance endurance athlete, my goals have been focused on strength and muscle building. Austin creates extremely detailed programs available through Google Sheets that have helped me record my progress and keep on track to achieving my fitness goals. He provides regular expert advice on form and technique, which is exactly what I wanted as I started with just a foundational understanding of strength exercises. Austin also incorporates bodywork and P-DTR into our sessions to ensure that I'm feeling flexible and limber. Finally, Austin keeps things always interesting and dynamic by switching up our workouts on the regular. Can't recommend him enough and I've already put him in touch with multiple friends and colleagues. read more

Updating my previous review because these guys are awesome. Michael has been writing my programs for about 10 months now and I have never gotten stronger so quickly. I've been on a body composition (fat loss) program for the past 10 weeks and have lost 16lbs thus far - all thanks to Michael's guidance and killer program. Never thought I'd be able to lose fat (and also somehow gain 2 lbs of muscle while losing said fat) so quickly. Austin is a great trainer and is extremely passionate about what he does. He also makes every session fun and genuinely makes his clients happy when they're around him - its a unique gift that not every trainer has. Paul is the best bodyworker I've ever had the pleasure of working with - hands down. He has truly worked magic in a single hour that I never thought possible. Be it my neck, my back, or my jaw, he's fixed me and every new bodily ache/pain I've come to him with. read more

Working with Austin has been a great experience. Being a life long desk worker has taken its toll on my posture, back, shoulders, neck... well, my whole body. Austin uses all the skills he's acquired across multiple disciplines to help me heal, strengthen, recover from an old injury, and achieve better functional mobility. I've never been highly motivated to exercise, but Austin has also finally managed to keep me motivated and active. He listens to me, during and between sessions, and does a great job tracking my progress over time. I feel like he is invested in my progress. read more

I've been working with Michael for a little over half a year, and have never been happier with my relationship with my body. Each session with Michael is like a crash course on body mechanics, focused physical therapy, challenging but reasonable work outs, and supportive encouragement. Over the past seven months, I've gained confidence in my physical strength and mental capability from working with Michael. There is something about the way he can break down concepts that has changed my entire view on problem solving and stress management. He is truly someone that leads by example. He dedicates his time to gain training and knowledge on many topics, giving him a holistic view on solving pain and efficient techniques that will achieve goals in a sustainable long term fashion. He brings passion and perseverance to the service he provides, and that is inspiring on many levels. Also - PDTR is some crazy magic that legitimately works! So many issues aren't necessarily a problem and just simply a roadblock. Michael is the guy that can find those blocks in the road and clear them out so you can keep running along on your journey unhindered with his expert guidance. read more

Austin Villamil is a gifted personal trainer who's had a tremendous positive impact in my health and overall fitness. I once had chronic pain in my right knee that limited my mobility. After not much progress with a physical therapist, Austin looked at me holistically, identified issues with my posture and imbalances in my muscles and worked with me over several months to get me running again without any pain. Who knew that my mid-back, hips, and ankles were the reason for my bum knee? The guy has a great attention to detail, he's incredibly knowledgeable about the body, and he really cares about his clients. Being in my late 40's, I frequently have tweaks and strains, and Austin continually helps me through these with a range of techniques, like massage therapy, P-DTR, active releases, and careful selection of stretches and exercises. Without this constant tweaking, I'd be a mess - sort of like I was before working with Austin. I've never been one to work out at a gym, but now it's become a bit of a habit and I look forward to our sessions together. I have a lot to thank Austin for, but probably the biggest is being able to go on hikes with my kids without knee pain. I wish I had engaged with Austin earlier. I can't recommend the guy enough. read more

I came to Michael looking to get my body back into shape two years after having a serious back injury. I hadn't worked out in a long time and was looking for someone who was both knowledgable as a trainer and who would also take extra care to develop a plan that worked for my body with my previous injury. I quickly found that Michael is a great trainer who really understands the nuances of the human body and how we move. Together, we developed a plan to get my body back into shape and to develop a program that I could use to work out on my own long-term. I worked with Michael for several months and found that he is always striving to learn the latest tools and techniques used by personal trainers and physical therapists. In those few months, I saw a real and measurable transformation in my body strength, and Michael helped me gain the confidence and tools I needed to start working out on my own again. I received P-DTR treatment on my left shoulder from Michael, and he was able to treat a dysfunction that I've been endlessly trying to resolve through various modalities. What's crazy was that although the symptoms showed up in my left shoulder, the root cause of the issue was in my lower back. Michael is passionate about his craft and explains things very simply. The powerful combo of precision and efficiency in his treatment methods is unique to everything else I've experienced. I could tell that he invests SO much time, money, and effort into his education so that he can better help those who see him. After starting a desk job for about a year and a half in, I started experiencing lower back pain and discomfort. Austin was able to pinpoint the root of cause and able to reduce the pain with a prescription of massages and stretches. Not only did I leave feeling less pain but I felt more flexible with increased mobility. He even showed me key areas of my body that were weak and to focus on strengthening in order to prevent the return of the discomfort and reduce the amount of long term issues. It was almost like magic! Highly recommend. read more

I've been working with Austin for over a year now and am so grateful to have found such a skilled and versatile trainer. I started working with him to do resistance training and rehab some injuries.
