I was really craving a traditional snow cone and specifically went out to the Ross Bridge farmer's market to stop by Who Dat Snoballs. I was not disappointed!! There are sooo many flavors and they use cane sugar, so the quality is amazing. There were several people around so it was hard to take pictures, but there were maybe 20 regular flavors, 5 creamy flavors, sugar-free flavors available, and you could also add toppings like sprinkles, whipped cream, and ice cream.
There are three sizes of Snoballs and each comes with the first 2 flavors free. I got the smallest size and it was more than enough for me tonight. I tried the strawberry daiquiri and black cherry flavors, which seemed like they'd go together the best. The black cherry flavor was spot on and exactly what I hoping for. The strawberry daiquiri flavor also tasted very delicious and strawberry, but maybe not quite daiquiri. I would still get it again!
When I got the snoball, I noticed that they had put a fun surprise in there... I'm not sure if this is standard, but it definitely brought a smile to my face. I had a lot of syrup left over -- they are very generous with the syrup! -- and was able to add it to sparkling water to have a refreshing drink afterward.
I am so happy that I made the trip to finally taste Who Dat Snoballs. I highly recommend stopping by their truck, especially since summer has finally hit Alabama. It reminds me of the snow cones I had as a child, but much tastier. I also thought the prices were great (starting at $4 for the small). read more
