I wish I could say I had the same experience as everyone else in the reviews, but my story is…read morevastly different with Westford Collision. Let me start off by saying that no... I am not a competing company, fake review, or making false statements as I usually do not write these kind of negative reviews. Back in the beginning of March, I was involved in a minor crash where the left rear fender and rim on my vehicle was struck. Very minor damage (scuffed rim and a small ding/scratch in the fender). Everyone I talked to suggested that I go to Westford Collision because they do the best work and "will be fixed right"... so I did. They told me it would take 3-4 weeks to repair the damage ("3 weeks usually but may be 4") which I found surprising because it was so minor... but I wanted it fixed right so I agreed. After the 4th week, I called Westford Collision to find out if my truck had been fixed yet, and was told they forgot that it also needed an alignment and needed to be "towed to another shop because they don't have an alignment rack"... what auto body shop doesn't have an alignment rack? They stated that it would be ready next Wednesday at the latest (4.5 weeks altogether to fix). They stated they would "tow" it to the alignment shop. I reluctantly stated I understood (expressing my frustration it was taking so long) because I didn't have a choice... That Wednesday, when the truck was guaranteed to be ready, I was told all repairs were done, but that they would not release my vehicle because they were still waiting for the insurance adjustment check to pay for the tow and alignment. I once again expressed my frustration as they promised I would have my vehicle that day (and I've been paying for a rental for the last 5 weeks). Westford Collision (after me arguing with them) agreed to give me back my vehicle even though they had not yet received the check from my insurance company. Now... I have a dash camera in that vehicle, and what do I find when I reviewed the footage? They DROVE MY CAR to the alignment shop (without my permission I might add) and falsely charged my insurance company $600.00 for the tow (clearly on the insurance adjustment $300 tow fee each way). So, Westford Collision refused to release my truck to me all based on false insurance claims (towing fees when they never towed the vehicle- truck also had approx. 25 extra miles on the odometer when I picked it up) I forwarded all videos to both my insurance company and the other parties insurance. Westford Collision might be the most dishonest company I have ever dealt with because of their false insurance claims and how they treat their customer (hold your car hostage on false insurance practices so they can collect more money from the insurance company). I challenge this body shop to prove otherwise and would gladly present all evidence to them showing their dishonest practices. I do not recommend this body shop and suggest you take your business elsewhere. Westford Collision blatantly practices insurance fraud.

On July 30th, my Honda accord was hit and made undrivable. A mistake that I never will make again…read morewas to take the car to Westford Collision instead of the usual shop. Friday, October 10th is when I got my car back. You read that right, 2.5 months to fix a car that by insurance (Plymouth rock) standards, should have taken 4 weeks tops. From then till now was nothing short of a nightmare in dealing with them. When the car was brought there, on several occasions over the next 2 weeks, the adjuster/appraiser attempted to get access to the car to examine and write up what it needs. The body shop said no "Lift" operator was around, citing vacations. Really? You are a licensed body shop and have no lift operators on site ?? The initial appraisal came in at over 13,179.48. I thought great. It at one point rose to over 25,000 Then they finally got it on the lift and the damage 19,255.14. The appraiser who went back and forth 5 times and long story short, it was done for 17,304.17 which would be a total loss. Mind you we are now 2weeks into the 30 day rental allowance which ran out before they could repair it. On the initial appraisal, it shows "Right Front" point of impact. That, was one of a few things that were true. On line(s) 124- 127, why was a right tail lamp and assy required. Lines 146-148, why was a rear bumper cover required. Also, on line 161 they were paid to clean the car. They did not do a thing. Stains and dirt from the accident were still there. And of course they were closed at pick up. It was manually cleaned by my daughter with supplies from Autozone. One thing that was noticed was that they seemed to add more unneeded parts as if they were trying to get more money. Finally, they actually wanted me to pay for gas while they drove it for testing.. Who does this? And like I said, they wanted me to pay, but I didn't pay. For those that may not believe this, I have proof in the form of all paperwork from both westford collision. I will gladly post it with personal info redacted. This review/complaint will also be sent to the BBB and the Division of Standards (DOS) for the Commonwealth.

This had been my first accident in a LONG time (like before smart phones were a thing long time). USAA was kind enough to provide me with a list of body shops in my area including this shop that was one of their preferred locations. I was hesitant choosing to go on my own because other places over the years had spoken to me condescendingly and have attempted to up sell. I ventured in without my husband and can honestly say I felt as if him being there wouldn't have made a difference with the customer service. All employees I interacted with were absolutely wonderful, explained the insurance process, waited patiently while I made phone calls, and even helped arrange getting a rental to me while I was there dropping off my vehicle. I absolutely hit the jackpot with this place and cannot recommend them enough for their kindness, patience, communication, and commitment to getting my car back to looking the way it did before I got distracted by my child! Thank you all!

Bruce is a nice guy, he has run a nice business at Ideal for a long time. Bruce will regale you…read morewith nice tales about his dogs, and many things not related to your car for 40 minute stretches of time. In my opinion this is what makes Bruce ineffective. This a long read but do yourself a favor read it all, and take your damaged vehicle somewhere else! I purchased a Dodge Durango in February 2024, to use as a second vehicle for the winter, and to haul my Great Dane around. I made this purchase to save my daily driver from mileage and wear. Unfortunately I had an accident only two months later in April. I had a reputable tow company and they happened to tow the Durango to the lot right next to Ideal. My parents had done business with Ideal sim time ago and were satisfied with the result, so I took my parents referral. I even had to convince my insurance company to let me leave the car with Bruce at Ideal. They agreed. I gave Bruce the benefit of the doubt and did not even contact him until August, as he said he was backlogged until June. When I met with him in August, I was hoping the car would be done any day. However, he had not even started the work, claiming he could not a find a hood for it. He was so hard pressed to find one, he was planning to replace it with a different hood without even consulting me. I bought a 2019 specifically for the hood style, which he would have known if he even took the time to return my calls. I met with Bruce a total of 4x after that. The next time I had time to stop by was in September. I asked about the status of the hood and reminded him I needed the car before Nov 1st! for trips to CT, that I had to pick-up for my job! This is now 6 months of no progress! He had held me and my car hostage, causing me 24k miles incurred on my daily driver, and forced me to continue to put my large dog in that car, causing interior damage. All of which I was trying to avoid! The icing on the cake I feel is the next time in October I had time to see Bruce in person (I had called several times and he did not return calls) he had found a hood in Florida, and it was going to take several days still, and cost more to transport it than I paid for the entire car to be shipped from Miami! So I took things into my own hands, called a brother in law with an auto shop. He found the hood locally in Waltham the same day for less money. When I spoke to Bruce about this he was disappointed with himself. I asked if I needed to move the car, he said no. He said 'This will be my personal project.' When I saw him again a week later he had still not started. I asked again do I need to move the car, he said no. It was now November! I asked him what have you been doing, I thought this was going to be your personal project. His response 'Mostly taking to people.'. As I said Bruce is a nice guy. He's lost the edge in my opinion. Clearly my car was not going to be done for November 1st! I don't trust any of the information Bruce has provided to me to date. Here it is November 13th and the car is STILL not ready. I have no idea if I'll be satisfied with the actual work, frankly I'm concerned. Be wary of bringing your car here.

Pulling teeth to get any info on status of the repair. Does not seem to understand basic customer service, the importance of transparent communication, repairing a car correctly is job 1, or how holding your car hostage can cause serious frustration. Upon receiving the car back the left front wheel bearing needed to be replaced, and the left front control arm was bent. This required a further 11 days of time spent getting the car finished at the dealer, not at Jake's. Seriously, the accident damaged the left front tire and no one checked out the bearing or control arm? John spent a lot of his time explaining what an excellent job they do and no other shop takes care of the details as well as they do, and that other shops would return your car with things still not right. If you take your car here for repair be warned you will need to constantly stay on top of them or you will never hear from them, and don't expect the repair to be complete.

Jakes Collision Center epitomizes customer service and highly quality workmanship.
