Robert worked with us on two separate towing needs and was kind, professional, and funny. He was great about making sure our vehicle was moved safely when needing to reposition to hook up from the front. The speed of response was excellent, one was 30min ahead of schedule and the other was right on time. On the last tow, Robert was even able to get the car into the garage so that it could be worked on in the warmth of the garage. Not an easy feat, and he did it with another car parked inside. Somehow, through my own error, my 2020 Honda Civic ended up at the bottom of a retention ditch at a local dealership. Being a triple A member I called and was assigned a tow company (not Whitey's) who did not show up after over an hour. The Triple A person reassigned me to Whitey's towing and they were there quickly and were able to extricate the car using a winch. The towing technicians were impressively efficient and took great care not to further damage the car. I really appreciate Joe and Jason's helpfulness and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure the job was down carefully and successfully. The lady who took my info at the office also was very calming and helpful and I appreciate her too, as I was fairly stressed at the time. I understand I can request my towing company when I call in to Triple A and I will be requesting Whitey's towing every time should I need this service again. read more

Your drivers need to be less aggressive. Southbound 47 towards Crystal Lake you have a driver going well over 60 in a 45mph zone and tailing other vehicles and cutting cars off without a turn signal. Seems a little dangerous for a vehicle of that size to be driving so dangerously. read more

WHAT AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE! My car would not start in a parking lot in Crystal Lake, 30 miles from my home in Mount Prospect. A quick call to AAA Motor Club and they gave the job to Whitey's Towing. Thomas from Whitey's called me within six minutes. He asked about the car's symptoms, told me his current location, and explained how long it may take him to arrive. He was an excellent and courteous communicator, which I very much appreciated being in a strange place, after dark, on crutches, with a dead car. He arrived quickly, did a few tests with battery, etc., and then confirmed that it was the starter. He then asked me to jump in his truck while he hooked up my car. He inspected, recorded, and pointed out all damage on my car before he hooked it up. I decided I can change the starter myself if I can get the car in my garage. I explained to him that my driveway has an incline and that it is narrow and long and would be hard to navigate. He assured me that it was not going to be an issue and that he was happy to swing by my home and see. I'm fairly uptight about taking any chances with body damage on my car, so I agreed to let him assess the difficulty, knowing I would most likely NOT let him back my car down that driveway on a tow truck. During that 30 mile trip, Thomas was personable, polite, knowledgeable, and in-control at all times. When we arrived at my home it was raining and it was late. He turned off the flashing lights to not disturb my neighbors, looked at my driveway, smiled and said "aww, that driveway is not an issue at all. I'll back the car up the incline and I'll stop when you say." This guy backed my car up that incline and down that long, narrow driveway LIKE A BOSS! Never even getting close to hitting anything AND on the FIRST try. I was speechless. Then he lowered my car and told me to get in and steer while he pushed it backward the rest of the way into my garage. Before pushing the car, he communicated to me that I was in control of the steering and brakes just as if it were actually running. He never assumed that I knew anything, he simply communicated everything as a means of making the situation go well. I was super happy to have my car in my own garage that night and complimented him on his mad back-up skills; seriously. This was the absolute best experience I've ever had with a towing company and I've had this car towed four previous times. At one point I asked if he owned the company because it's very unusual to find an employee who provides that level of customer service anymore. I highly recommend Whitey's Towing in Crystal Lake, and I would definitely ask for Thomas if I ever had to use them again. This kid should seriously be running his own business. It would be a success built on high customer satisfaction and word of mouth. If I had to summarize the way he did his job that night, it would be LIKE A BOSS. Awesome job! The person scheduling the tow was very calming and she kept me informed of where the tow truck was and they actually arrived earlier than originally estimated. If you value your car do not use Whitey's. They are not a reputable towing company. On the recommendation of Francen and Son I had them tow my car to the repair shop. When I came to pick it up, there was a 2 foot crack at the very top of my windshield going across. Francen and Son told me it arrived this way. I called Whitey's and had a distressing time talking to Ashley, the girl that answers the phone. She kept giving me excuses day after day on why the person in charge of damages can't come to the phone. I paid $184 for the towing company and now I have an additional $425 repair to make on a new windshield. This is a very dishonest company that will not take any responsibility for damaging your vehicle. Based on their customer service, I'm not sure how they have good reviews. read more

Late on the night of February 11, 2018 I found myself and my car stuck in about a foot of unplowed snow on a downhill road in Algonquin and about 75 feet from the "main" road. Initially Whitey's sent a flat bed tow truck and my car was pulled onto it. Then a second snow plow truck plowed the snow from in front of the flat bed truck and a third tow trucked pulled the flat bed to the cleared part of the road. They then took me and my car to a safe place to unload it. The three men from Whitey's were extremely polite and were diligent in getting my car out of a bad situation. I was impressed by their professionalism and courtesy to me and others in my party. If you ever find your car in a tough spot in the area of Crystal Lake, Whitey's is definitely the tow company to call. You will be as impressed as I was with their service. read more

Whitey's towing is as good as it gets!!!! That should be their slogan. They were right on time, polite and knowledgeable about a GMC front wheel drive motorhome. The GMC (front wheel drive) had been towed from the rear by another tow truck driver in PARK which trashed the transmission. Their service is a cut above the rest. read more

I called Whitey's after the longest night/day ever, having locked my keys in the car (in the driveway) the night before, and during a bad snow storm. The guy I talked to on the phone could not have been nicer. He gave me a time frame, and then called back a few minutes later to let me know that there were some accidents they had to take care of first but would be there not much longer than he originally told me. I told him not to worry because I was going to take a nap, and he said the service guy would call when he got there. I woke up no more than 30 minutes later to a knock on the front door handing me my keys & a receipt. He let me sleep while he did the work!
