Becky managed Ice Creameries across the tri-state area and really knows a thing or too, so here goes: First off the store is SO CLEAN- they wipe down their blenders between every shake, which keeps the flavor Super Pure. The staff are always dressed in spotless white uniform with their hair pulled back- makes me pine for the Icw Cream parlours of my youth. You are attended to by just one worker (so Kind and Polite) in your whole order, so none of your order gets lost on the sauce (chocolate sauce? HAHA). Becky loves that they use "fresh" RESES straight out of the package- no stale pre ground topings here! This isn't even touching on the unique creamy texture and wide variety of flavurs of Ice Cream. Whitey's used to be the go to place for ice cream in the Quad Cities. Unfortunately, the taste treat now cost as much as meal now for any it on the menu. It nearly cost the same to buy a pint of Ice cream as it dose a single of scoop of ice cream. It took nearly 3-4 minutes to get an employee to ring me out for a pint form the in store freezer. Worse a manager was free and looking me in the eye several time before he noticed that I was waiting for service, as I was waving the pint and my debit card at him. The store was clean, but service was lacking. Unfortunately, service and price are pushing me away form them. I believe, if they keep going on this trend they will be keep pushing people away and them selves out of business. read more

Very creamy ice cream. I love dip cones since I was a kid. This one made me feel like a kid again as it dripped down my chin.

We stopped in to Whitey's on the recommendation of a friend's friend while stopping in Moline for the night on a road trip. The menu is huge with quite a bit of variety. They have frozen yogurt, ice cream, sherbet, shakes, sundaes, non dairy smoothies, and more! In fact, I found the menu a wee bit overwhelming- even though I could only order from non dairy items. Still, I decided on a watermelon sherbet in a dish. It was about $2.75 in total for one scoop. I enjoyed it! It was light, sweet and refreshing. Perfect for summer! The strange thing was that other than four white chairs lining a wall, there was no seating in the place. We had to take our ice cream outside and sit in the car. (At 94 degrees and high humidity, it would've been miserable to stand around outside, and no tables outside.) Overall, Whitey's was good ice cream, the staff was great, but the building and lack of seating was a bit odd. Worth a visit if you're in the area, just prepare accordingly! read more

The bald guy that helped me at the Bettendorf IA location was so incredibly rude. My mom and I went there for a treat the other day and the person making our shakes took a very, VERY long time to make 2 small shakes that were also under-filled. At the time Whiteys was not very busy so there is absolutely no reason for it to take that long. read more

Just hands down the best ice cream favorites period. The watermelon sherbet has always been my favorite. The service is upbeat, courteous and just fun! And they still wear the candy stripe uniforms! I love it! The new building where the make the ice cream is amazing. It really looks incredible and what a great idea. So glad the location hasn't changed. Whitey's was a stop after school when I went to Moline. And the few part time job openings were sought after by about every student. It has just always been a special place in our lives. read more

This is the best ICE CREAM we've had in a very long time. We have Gourmet Ice Cream locations in Portland. But Whiteys stand up to their flavor and texture without a doubt. This was kind of disappointing, we went to try the new flavors suggested by a worker and she didn't even serve us, instead 2 odd trainees did. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the carrot cake ice cream, I find the mix of dry cake and cold moist ice cream not appealing and just won't be getting it again. The malts are typically filled to the brim but not this time, it was kind of liquidity and not filled all the way. I will be returning to whiteys because normally they don't disappoint but this trip was disappointing and I hope for Improvement. read more

5 stars... Disclaimer: I grew up with this ice cream, so my opinion may be slightly skewed... But I believe Cows would be proud of what this joint does with the byproducts of their life's work! Over the years I have tried many combinations and flavors but keep coming back to the turtle shake. Vanilla ice cream with butterscotch and hot fudge blended with pecans...then the whole shebang is topped with more roasted salted pecans... Delicious! My wife had the peppermint Oreo on a sugar cone and she was thoroughly impressed! Prices are slightly high and ambiance is hospital meets candy shop. Ummm, what can you say about a QC icon?! Super creamy ice cream. Creative seasonal flavors. It's simply the BEST!! [mic drop]

Wow, when Whitey's came up in conversation, the Moline locals insisted we had to go whole while were in town. I'd never heard of it before, but we were obviously intrigued. We stopped in after dark and it was, no lie, the brightest place I've ever been into. The white interior didn't help with the reflectiveness, but we estimated a total of almost 5kW of lighting in the counter area. That's almost 4.5 W/sf (compared to typical office of 1.0 W/sf). Still, they have a huge menu and miraculously, nutritional information on they website. I settled on a half of a low fat vanilla shake and made it out alive with only 300 cal and 2g of fat, but still maxed out in deliciousness. Highly recommended for people who aren't counting fat or calories. read more

There is always a line. Always busy. Great ice cream, but they should do some online type of ordering system and take them out to the car.

Must Stop I love ice cream, I could eat it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I enjoy many different types of flavors and love a homemade taste. I have been to Whitey's several times while visiting family, I have never been disappointed with the flavors, the atmosphere or the service. Best ice cream in Quad Cities, hands down

If you grew up in the QCA, you know stopping at Whitey's is a MUST when you visit. I always order the same flavors Graham central station (vanilla ice cream with chucks of soft Graham crackers mixed throughout)& butter pecan on a waffle cone. Best thing EVER!!! The creaminess of this ice cream cant be beat. The prices are a little expensive, but definitely worth every red cent. read more

We were on an Ice Cream Tour last Sunday and stopped into Whitey's I had a scoop of the No-Tella and it was creamy, delicious something I would drive 4 hours to have again. My husband had Sugar free moose tracks and thoroughly enjoyed it! We loved that the kids behind the counter were helpful, nice and happy to take a picture with us. and if you're stopping in Moline only another 25 minutes to the Wilton Candy Kitchen in Wilton, IL for pair of exceptional experiences and wonderful ice cream!! I heard a lot of excitement about Whitey's before trying it. My family gave it a try and none of us were impressed. My chocolate milkshake was made from vanilla ice cream and hershey's syrup (I asked after trying it). You can't make a truly quality chocolate shake with vanilla ice cream and hershey's syrup. I would have made it at home had I known. Luckily, there are other places where I can find chocolate shakes. This all being said, the employees are great and it's also great place to take kids. read more
