It was one of these coffeeshops-in-a-box kind of setup, with a drive thru and (as I was later to be informed) a walkup window. I ordered thru the kiosk in the small drivethru, no traffic to speak of was traversing the area. I walked to the window, mentioned to the woman who finally appeared that I was a walkup and was informed right off that I should use the walk up window and hey ignore the sign that says the walk up window isn't opened til 9 am bc if she's not busy she'd be glad to take my 6.75 order for a plain 20 oz latte with a shot of espresso. Mildly offended at this lecture, I informed her I was from out-of-town. This seemed to throw her for a loop, looks like out-of-towners generally are a rare sight at this coffeebox. I was told to move to the walk up window to get my coffee. After a couple of minutes I did get the coffee. Walking away and taking my 1st couple of sips I realized it wasn't what I ordered. Leslie decided to confront my girlfriend and I before even entering the establishment accusing my girlfriend of leaving a bad review (when she did not, which was easily verifiable by going through all the Google reviews). Leslie shook her head at us before even walking in the door--confusing us both greatly. She then proceeded to raise her voice at us saying "YOU WROTE A HORRIBLE REVIEW ABOUT US DIDN'T YOU?! YOU'RE THE ONE." Before verifying any of this. My girlfriend was quite confused and said "no I definitely didn't", to which Leslie responded "You used to work over there didn't you? You moved out of town." My girlfriend (to no one's surprise) did not indeed 'work over there' which baffled us further. We then stated "You know what, let's just not go here, this isn't worth it." Leslie decided it was a great idea to follow us to our car outside and continue the accusations--saying "I'll serve you, but only once I check the reviews." We continued to assure Leslie that the review was not my girlfriend's doing. Leslie (mistakenly, and quite rudely) continued to assert that "she knew" and that "she remembers", again confusing us both. Not only is this unprofessional and tacky, particularly for the owner of a business--it was embarrassing that these actions came from a supposed adult. Even if my girlfriend left said review (which she certainly did not), it's entirely unprofessional and disgusting of a business owner to belittle anyone like this. So to say a bad taste was put in my mouth would be the world's biggest understatement. I've never in my life had such an awful experience with a business--let alone the owner of the business. I called after leaving to ask why she decided to act this way, and Leslie told me "Your girlfriend is the one who left the awful review, I am sure of it" to which I said "Ok, then what is her name?" to which Leslie responded nothing and said "This is harassment, would you like me to call the police?" I responded enthusiastically "Sure!" Thankfully 'Fresh Blends' (a significantly better smoothie business) is across the parking lot. Please kindly take your business there instead--you won't be disrespected there and customer service is actually important to them. I hope Leslie can learn something from this experience--particularly not to follow would-be customers out the door when they've established that they'd rather just leave.
