I only make it into the optometrists once every four to five years, and I had been putting off my appointment for awhile even though I suspected I needed glasses (for night driving). I have worn reading glasses in the past, and had never been pleased with how they looked on me. In the past, I have always felt pressured to buy eyewear on the spot, and always walked away with something flashier than I would have preferred (due to small selections and a face that - I swear I'm not even being self-deprecating here-looks absolutely awful with glasses). This time I shopped around before making my appointment. I dragged my husband and two kids down to the Domain to check out Warby Parker and actually cried at how terrible I looked in the frames. We went to Target, a store I usually can't get out of for under a hundred dollars, and walked out with nothing. I finally found a pair of frames I didn't totally hate at Costco (bonus: they were affordable) and snapped a picture. I was fully surprised when I walked into Cedar Park Eye Care and saw they had a massive collection. Easily quadruple what was available to me at the last Optometrist I saw. The receptionist at Cedar Park Eye Care was so helpful in helping me select frames that were just my style, and very patient while I tried about every pair in the store. I found some cute (yet designer), simple frames that I actually really loved! And - after factoring in insurance - they were priced lower than the Costco pair! Dr. McCarty was extremely personable and kind. My husband and I don't always gravitate toward the same kinds of people, but we both really liked him. Oh, and they have a coffee machine in the office! That definitely scored some points with me. Five stars because I was really dreading this appointment, and I walked away a satisfied customer with glasses that I love.

I went to Costco it cost Me 35$ with insurance and the extra testing was only 29 $ not 60$ from Spanish oaks and they don't force u to use it I am sure they want to pay for the equipment they have bought but forcing a customer does not make me happy and they lost me as a customer!!! I went in to order new glasses and was very clear about the frames I wanted. The staff initially only ordered the lenses. When I told them I also wanted the frames, they said that was fine and that they would place that order as well. I agreed and left the office. After I had already left, they called me and said the price would be higher (which I expected), but then told me I would have to come back to the office to pay before they could place the order. At that point the process had already taken longer than expected just to order the lenses, so I decided to cancel the order and asked for a refund. After putting me on hold, they called back and told me they would still charge a $46 restocking fee -- even though the issue with the order was not caused by me. As a long-time customer, that was very disappointing to hear. Charging a restocking fee in this situation doesn't feel fair and left a bad impression after years of being a loyal client. I hope the management or owner sees this and reconsiders how this was handled, because I would have preferred to continue coming here. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I won't be returning and I can't recommend it to friends or family.

We love his new location and couldn't be happier with the services he provides. His staff is always friendly and ready to assist. The office is very clean and modern. I have never had a rushed visit with Dr. Smith. He always takes his time explaining things, like reviewing your digital retinal screening photos etc. You won't find an optometrist that is more caring and knowledgable in Cedar Park. I can not stress to you how important I find it that Dr. Smith really takes his time with you. We have never had a visit where we were rushed out the door. In this day and age where you're lucky to get about 10 full minutes of face time with a Doctor, its nice to know there are still people like Dr. Smith around. He really loves what he does and it shows.
