Miles of storage recently bought the Bloomington storage facility we use and that is the one and…read moreonly reason we have ever done business with them. Since they have taken over, the security gate remains open, the security cameras are pointing in the wrong direction. Several locks insode the facility have been cut and items stolen. Our locker included. We have reached out to the call center several times with no response other than the rep saying our concerns will be forwarded to a manager. We cant speak to anyone with any authority to fix the problems they caused. I attempted to contact them through their website only to be given an error message stating the site is not safe. When I continued to the site and accesses the contact us link, I was unable to send the message. The company is a scam and only wants to collect the fees from tenants.

Wow Todd, still a nice way to talk to customers. I was taught that humans had a MOUTH not a MONTH…read more This is how the situation really happened. I called you on October 9, 2023, at 10:53 AM and left a message to tell you that I was pulling my boat out on November 6, 2023, to put it in winter storage. You called me back at 12:03 PM the same day and told me that I would have to pay for the entire month of November. I had no problem with that. You said that you normally get a 30-day written notice of departing your facility but since we were talking, you would accept the verbal notice (this should have been in your notes). My wife accidentally paid you twice and you admit it.  On November 6th I pulled my boat off your property and moved it to winter storage.  When I got home my wife told me about the double payment. I called you at 1:27 PM on November 6th to inform you about the double payment. You told me you posted the double payment for November and December, and I was covered for December storage fee even though I was not storing anything on your property, and you were not giving me my money back. I posted my review on YELP on November 6th to warn others of your corrupt business practice. You called me at 2:09 PM after reading the review on YELP on the 6th and left me a voice mail which included the following: "Hey Bruce, Todd Payne here, I went back and looked at all my records, NOTES, and everything and I don't see anything that you've notified me that you were leaving for 30 days but what I can do is take that EXTRA PAYMENT THAT YOUR WIFE MADE that I posted for December and KEEP IT and hold your spot for you. You'll start back up in the summer and make payments. Just give me a call back".  These are your words, Todd. You are admitting to keeping the extra payment and not returning my money even though you were notified in October. Why don't you have any records and I do. I am warning everyone to stay away, or you will have to shut your MONTH!

This place will turn its back on its customers and throw you under the bus…read more I had over $2000 dollars worth of personal possessions lost due to its managers not communicating or writing down that I occupied a certain storage unit , therefore disposing or giving away of all my very valuable possessions I collected over many years. I had my stuff removed after about a month of possession of the unit . There are many break-ins ,and if you are late on a $60.00 dollar payment over a few days, they will lock out your ability to enter the facility and lock you out of your storage unit. They will not take responsibility for there screw ups

I reserved a unit at Secure Care Self Storage for my son on the 20th of September, 2023 online…read more Everything was filled in automatically. The cost was $34 at first. As I read through the 10 page legal documents, I was forced into paying $12 more for insurance totalling $46. I didn't see any way to opt out. The contents were not worth insuring. On the 22nd of September I checked my credit card charges online and saw that they charged me $55. I called Secure Care, located in California, and spoke with Daisy. She said the amount included a one time $26 admission fee. This wasn't on the 10 page documents either. I asked what date I needed to give notice of termination. The document states 7 days prior to the rent due date which is not stated on the document. How convenient for them. Since she shows it in her computer as the 19th and my contract shows the 20th, if I hadn't called to clarify,  I would have been late in notifying them according to their rules and charged another month 's fee!! So, they are crooks and to be steered clear from! I wrote to her confirming our phone conversation. She said she would consider my phone call notice of termination. I'm planning to write them anyway terminating because I trust them as far as I can throw them.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! We had a break-in recently in our indoor unit. Our lock was completely…read moredestroyed. Over seven days have passed and they STILL haven't repaired the door. Outside of the call telling us about the break-in, we've heard nothing from the property owners. An EGREGIOUS breach of contract. An entire week gone by without being able to lock our unit. We resorted to buying chains and locks and try to figure out a way to secure it. In addition, their pest control is atrocious. Inspecting the damage from the break-in, we found mice urine and feces all over our property. We salvaged what we could, but there is a severe concern for hantavirus. The smell of urine was palpable, even with a mask. We saw mice running in the hallway and could hear them in other units. No doubt, their property is getting soiled by mice. SECURITY is LAUGHABLE at best. The gate code opens multiple gates, not just the one to your unit. The keypad to the indoor units is useless if you unlock the doors from the inside. That's right, if one person forgets to lock it, anybody can get in. I wouldn't be surprised if the thief owns a unit for easy access. Why not just invite someone to rob the place? Their gates? As I eluded to before, your gate code unlocks multiple gates, not just the one with your unit. In addition, several of the gates are broken. The gates that are closest to the main road? Ineffective, at least for our building. There's perhaps a foot (perhaps more) of clearance from the bottom of the gate to the ground... Cameras? They have a few, but not near enough. For my building with an indoor, climate controlled unit? None. Thieves can take their sweet time in there, which is exactly what they did. Every single box was opened. Irreplaceable items, financial information, etc. gone. Now then, this isn't the first break-in. They've had several. When calling the police to update our police report, they got it confused with another report that happened days after. Below is a link for a news video published by WRTV regarding the break-ins. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_fwOaRv4rs The fact that they call themselves SecureCare is offensive. Perhaps other SecureCare facilities are better, but this one...with the pest infestation and the seven plus days that have passed and we still cannot lock our unit (it's not the lock that's broken, but the entire locking mechanism), their slogan should be, "SecureCare, Infested and Uninterested."
