Just short of ride and didn't seem to want to understand what I was asking for. I did find out that she was at a "central" booking location. So I just walked into the location I wanted and asked for a full body wax, the young lady at the counter, sorry forgot your name lovely lady, was so sweet and helpful and worked very hard to get me the services I would "settle" for. Which was full back and full Brazilian. And although I did have to wait a couple of hours I was very happy they could accommodate me on a Sunday! So while I waited I booked the rest of what I needed done. My Esthetician was Jasmin (sp?) and she was a pro from start to finish! I'm not sure how long she been waxing, but her level of skill says eons! She went over every section THREE times to make sure no hair was left behind and I left out of there silky smooth. The next day was exactly the same! From the moment you walk in you feel relaxed with good music playing, receptionists that great you with real smiles and cool A/C going, and in 100+degree temps that's heaven sent! The salon and waxing rooms are so clean I almost couldn't believe they actually waxed in them! I hadn't gotten a Brazilian since moving to Houston from Boston, so it had definitely been a while, but Hillary immediately put me at ease. She was incredibly light-handed, communicative throughout the entire process, and genuinely so good at what she does. I also really appreciated how educational and informative she was. She walked me through proper aftercare and made sure I understood how to care for my skin after sugaring, which made the entire experience even better. At 9:17 a.m., I was finally able to reach someone who informed me that the manager had been trying to contact me for two days because there were no trainees available for the time slots they themselves posted on the booking site. I checked my account just last night, and the appointment was still confirmed. No one ever attempted to contact me or cancel the booking. This experience was extremely unprofessional and disappointing coming from Sugaring NYC. I had recently canceled my membership with Hello Sugar and was considering returning as a client, but this experience only confirms I made the right decision to leave in the first place.

I decided to bring my husband to this nail shop because I had been here before for a pedicure and had a good experience. I thought it would be the perfect place for him to feel comfortable getting his pedicure while also receiving great service. When we walked in, we were greeted by a woman with the biggest smile. She was warm, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant. I honestly thought she was going to be my nail technician, but she ended up taking care of my husband which actually worked out because I wanted him to have the best experience possible. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite. From the moment my technician started working on me, she was rough. Every movement felt harsh pulling, tugging, and handling my feet with absolutely no gentleness. It wasn't just her technique; her attitude was just as cold. I believe everyone has bad days, but customers shouldn't have to be on the receiving end of them. Then came the polish. She asked me what color I wanted, and I gave her the exact number because I had already picked it out. She couldn't find it, and that's when her frustration became obvious. She started speaking in another language, tossing bottles around on the table, and visibly showing how irritated she was. I looked over at my husband and quietly said, "I don't think she's having a good day because she's been rough with me ever since she started." He began paying closer attention and noticed it too. When she came back, I even asked her, "Are you okay?" She quickly replied, "Yeah, yeah, I'm okay." She applied the first coat, then came back with a completely different polish than the one I requested. I stopped her and politely said, "Excuse me, that's not the color I asked for. Can you please get the one I requested?" Instead of simply correcting the mistake, she stormed off visibly upset. At that point, I had enough. I refused to let someone with that kind of attitude finish my service. I told them I would pay for what had already been done, but I would not be returning. I came in respectful, spent my hard-earned money, and did absolutely nothing to deserve being treated that way. Thankfully, my husband had already finished his pedicure and had a much better experience than I did. Somewhere in the middle of all this, we even had margaritas (ha!) which honestly may have given me the courage to stand up for myself because, if you know me, I'm usually the person who stays quiet just to avoid conflict. Not this time. I'm about to be 45, and I've reached a place in life where I refuse to pay people to mistreat me. If you're having a bad day, I truly hope it gets better--but don't (ever) take it out on your customers. Customer service matters just as much as the service you're providing. Sadly, because of this experience, I won't be returning. Respect goes both ways, and my money will be spent where kindness and professionalism are just as important as a good pedicure. I'm out.
