This place is so good it made me forget I'm a grown adult with bills, bad knees, and a questionable credit score. Mrs. Davis deserves her own talk show, she's that kind, that helpful, and somehow makes you feel like you're the most important person on the lake. And Jesse at the dock? The man parks boats smoother than I park a shopping cart. Honestly, if my life ever depends on precision, I'm calling Jesse before I call 911. The boats? Gorgeous. Like, "don't take me home, I live here now" gorgeous. The lake? Basically a giant mood booster served cold with a side of sunshine. And the views? Unreal. If your jaw doesn't drop, you should probably check your pulse. Navigation and info are laid out so clearly, even I couldn't screw it up, and trust me, if there's a wrong turn to make, I'll make it. Went on a snowmobile tour with Jesse and had an incredible time. He was attentive to our specific desires for the tour and incredibly knowledgeable about the backcountry we were exploring. I feel the tour was overproduced, and the guide could have monitored the riders better. Note: the machines are loud (bring ear plugs, anything else won't fit under the helmet you must wear), and have smelly (noxious to some) exhaust being 2-cycle engines. Also, the ride/trials are quite bumpy and time between a bathroom stop is long, even if you don't mind using a pit toilet in the Winter. We booked a 1/2 day (4hr) snowmobile tour. The cost is $180/driver which is ok, but the cost of an additional $180/reservation for the guide is buried until you book and IMO unreasonable. Why? We had 3-other 2ppl groups in our tour, so at $180/reservation that's $540 for the tour guide alone, so we all paid for the guide 3x over. The guide cost should be fixed and spread across all in the group. If we had 6-single driver reservations that'd be $1080 just for the 'guide'. I'm from MN, grew up on a snowmobile, and tho it's been 30yrs, I got right back on and I'm comfortable with snow. The rest of our group were all newbies. The guide went over the sleds verbally but never gave hands-on instruction to be sure we knew how to operate them, just let us all go. The trail riding was supposed to have multiple stops for photos and breaks, we had 3 in 4hrs of riding, and most of the tails were very wavy/washboard like making sit-down riding uncomfortable for the hour+ stretched the guide kept us going on. It's best to ride these rough tails standing up but that takes experience. The guide checked back on the riders only very occasionally, with much of the ride occurring w/ us checking on each other, sometimes stopping on our own to help each other before the guide noticed we stopped. We also stopped in a meadow and we're able to free-roam by driving in the powder with the snowmobiles ourselves. Remember most were newbies, well three got their sleds promptly stuck in 24-30"'of snow, which resulted in an extra hour of us digging out, pushing the tour into dusk, the a wrong turn and an extra 20-30min more getting back. The experience of going out into the forest is unique, and I'm happy for that, it's a winter wonderland, even bit of Narnia when we stopped at the creek. read more

We hadn't rented from the new owners of Whitefish Marine and my daughters Volleyball Team rented a pontoon for four hours. Our time was at 4-8 pm. We arrived as the group that had rented from 12-4 pm got off the boat. I asked the young gentleman at the dock about wiping the boat down and disinfecting it since we are getting on the boat and all that is talked about daily is Covid 19. The young man although nice said we don't do that. I was disappointed since we are trying to stay safe and healthy and I would have brought my own cleaning stuff had I known. He said sorry we don't do that we clean them At the beginning of the day. Well for $500 for four hours it would be nice if they had just a spray bottle of disinfectant and some paper towels to wipe it down. Very disappointing and clearly not safe as they could be. I guess lesson learned if you rent from this company be prepared to clean the boat yourself. read more

January 2023 bought a used snow machine (2018 polaris Indy adventure 550) from whitefish marine. Now normally I wouldn't buy a used sled unless I knew the sled owner personally and knew their riding habits. So I called up and spoke with a salesman about the sleds and asked him if the sleds were properly maintained. He told me yes. So after some more research on the type of snow machine and determining that this was the style (two up/trail type) that we would go ahead and make the purchase. So we drive up to whitefish marine to make the purchase. I test ride the sled at low speed just around the whitefish marine facility. I asked the sales manager if the sleds were brought down from the rental location to be serviced and maintained properly and he told me yes. I asked for documentation and he told me they didn't keep it because they were part of the rental fleet and sold off every couple of years. But...this is a legit dealership, with mechanics, and a mechanic shop. Right? So I figured what the hell I'm sure they did all of the required maint. They don't want a tourist breaking down on a trail middle of nowhere. So i make the purchase. $5,700.00. Maybe not a lot if you are buying an 80-120k boat; but a lot of money if you are retired and on a fixed income. The sled was purchased "AS IS" because it was a used machine. Not a problem I thought to myself because I felt confident the preventive maintenance had been done. And I was told it was done by the salesman and the sales manager. Within two days of me learning about the sled and performing some basic preventive maintenance I began noticing some issues with the sled. The lower primary chain oil reservoir was a sludge with a few large metal pieces stuck to the magnetic drain plug. So I bought some new oil, cleaned out the pieces , ran the machine; then drained it again. No metal pieces, but new oil after one ride shouldn't be that dirty. So I changed it again. A few days of riding trails and my display screen would blank out, then restart, the completely shut off during a ride. The headlight would turn off. So I mess around with some wiring looking for a loose connection. I can't find one. So I load it onto the trailer and tow it to a shop. The wiring issue is a control box under the cowling which is shorting out and needs replaced. Also some adjustments to the steering, And a few other minor issues under the cowling and with the hifax and a few missing screws. It was about $900.00 including the labor. So I get my machine back, hit the trails a couple times in Feb, and a couple times in March. So in all I'll bet I was out on the snowmachine about 20x including rides around my 5 acres. The electric starter went out in March. No riding in April. Sled is parked in my shop all of April. May 12 i take the sled to a shop for summarization and the starter replaced. I get it to the shop as scheduled but I'm told they are ramping up for boat season and that is their focus. So it will be a few weeks before they can even look at it. Not a problem. I check back with the shop in mid July and the mechanic did have a chance to diagnose the machine and it needed some minor repairs and he listed them out for me. But another issue with the hifax. Aug 22 I get a call from the shop and service person tells me there is a big problem with the sled. Once the starter was replaced and they were checking a few other things they noticed an issue with the crankshaft being severely damaged. And he told me polaris doesn't just sell that part; it is a complete engine replacement. Which would have taken my shop total to around $4,700.00. This shop was honest and very helpful. Reducing labor costs and parts costs but the total would still be around $4700. So the decision was made to not put anymore money into the sled. A $5700 sled with almost that same amount just in repairs. It now has a brand new starter on it ($400) and the machine won't start. So I called back to whitefish marine. Explained the situation to the sales manager. And we were basically told to pound sand. It had been 8 months since the sale and he didn't know my riding habits or if I abused the sled. So basically he called me a liar. I'm 52 yrs old so my hill climbing and high mark days are done. My wife asked if we had the same issues within a week or a month of the sale if they would have been more willing to help us out and he told her the sleds are sold "as is" so the answer is no. I don't know how they are with boats, wave runners, etc etc. but as for buying this used snow machine and being lied to by two of the sales people no thanks. Maybe they really didn't know the sleds were not maintained I don't know. If they didn't know for sure then why did they both tell me they were maintained? If I had known the machines were not serviced then i certainly wouldn't have spent the money. read more

We were visiting BigFork Montana and we rented a boat for a few days to take onto Flathead Lake. They have a little operation working out of Marina Cay in BigFork also. We rented a surf boat, MC TigeR22, and it was absolutely wonderful. The boat was clean and everything that we requested were in the boat and attached. All the add ons were in great shape, as well as the life jackets. The third day that we were to go out, we only made it 10 minutes and had to come back in as the waves were way too big for our comfort. Jesse worked with us so professionally to accommodate the rental of the boat that we didn't use. The young men helping to get you all settled were kind and informative. Brought my boys to the area for a winter weekend of snowmobiling and skiing/snowboarding. Did the full day guided snowmobile tour. It was just the 3 of us plus our guide, Cole. The tour itself was fantastic. We've done tours before in other places and this one is more about you and the machine. There were parts that were challenging for us. It is not about wildlife, breaks, and smooth, easy terrain. Cole was a great guide. He did a good job of matching our skill level to an appropriate pace and challenge level. It was a great day. Loved Whitefish Lake but wished the experience with the rental was better. We were at the dock early, I called to confirm and let them know but we didn't receive our boat rental until 15 minutes later and we were given one that people used earlier in the day with NO cleaning. Literally, the people hopped off and they told us to use that boat. I asked about cleaning and they said they do it at the end of the day.... not great especially during COVID. We overheard the last renter indicate the gauges were broken ie gas gauge etc and the person helping did not share that info until we brought it up so we didn't know our speed or amount of gas left.... also the radio didn't work....renter beware.... I guess you need to ask basic questions.... is your boat fully operational and in good working condition, do you clean your boat before renting it??!! read more

Buyer Beware - Please Read Full Story We purchased our NEW 2019 Scarab 215ID from Whitefish Marine in February 2020 at the boat show in Kalispell, MT. We went to Whitefish to check out a couple other used boats at their dealership the day prior to the show, but Garth (the owner) showed us the same model boat that we eventually purchased which was winterized at his lot and after hours of research on the brand and the specific boat, we were extremely excited to be able to buy new, to not have to deal with potential issues that come from buying used boats. Garth raved about his service department, he promised an extra year warranty for purchasing at the boat show, and even threw in a wakeboarding lesson for our kids during the demo once it occurred. The boat would be stored at his shop and then summerized and detailed once we were ready to pick up for the season. We contacted him early April to schedule a time to come pick it up, unfortunately COVID-19 delayed the process a little, which we were completely understanding of. We finally scheduled a date/time and drove the 45 minutes to pick it up. When we arrived (which he told us it would be ready upon arrival three hours prior to us showing up), the boat was in anything but new condition. It was covered in scratches, tears in the decals, and as dirty as can be. We immediately told Garth we would not be accepting the boat in this condition, and would wait until it was in the condition we were promised before picking it up. This of course was followed by excuse after excuse and little to no apology from his side. Once we finally took possession of the boat, each day we found one thing after the other that was wrong with the boat. The aluminum wheels on the trailer were covered in corrosion and scratches. There was a tear in one of the seat cushions. The noise-cancelling pad on the engine cover was covered in mold. Garth instructed us on how to use the bimini-cover incorrectly, which has now resulted in a tear. We really could go on and on with how many issues we've had since picking this boat up, like the very first day we couldn't even start it because they did not connect the battery correctly. After each issue, we received a promise of how it would be fixed, until Garth then decided he no longer wanted to work with us and denied our warranty work, expecting us to drive four hours to Spokane to receive any service. The promises that were made, they have yet to follow through on. We were promised a wheel swap with a different trailer that had wheels in better condition, not received. We were promised a new engine cover due to mold, not received. We were promised the seat to be replaced, still not done. After showing up the first time and seeing the boat in the condition it was in, we were told they would detail it "again," and Garth let us know he personally inspected the boat. When we showed up to pick it up and pointed out the many issues it still had, we were told, "you must have better eyes than me." At that point, Garth approved us to take the boat to a detail shop of our choice and he would cover the bill. This is the only thing he has actually followed through on. They did also state they would install the new decals that were torn for us, but after what we experienced with their service and detail shop, we chose to spend our own money to have them installed at a shop with better quality work. Our last issue we experienced was quite possibly the worst of them all, while driving on the highway going 65 MPH, our winch strap (which was sunbaked and dry-rotted) holding the boat to the trailer snapped, thankfully the safety strap held or we could have had a much larger problem. Over the last three months, we have spent countless hours doing what we can to correct the never-ending problems that this boat keeps giving us, which, should not happen with a brand new boat if it was taken care of properly when in Garth's possession. After getting to the lake I thought that renting a boat would be a fun way to spend the day, then I saw these guys delivering one and it seemed I'd be able to find some info on rates, availability etc etc Then I heard the owner refer to his CUSTOMER as a stupid mother f....er my jaw dropped- I can't believe anyone would do that in public even if it were true. I started asking around and found this is normal behavior for him. If I have to paddle an inner tube around the lake I'll do it before I give business to someone like that! read more

Never ever buy here, you and your family will regret it!!! They seem great in the beginning when selling you something, wait till you own it and spend 150k+!!!We have driven over 4000 miles, hotel rooms, etc to get our boat fixed at Whitefish Marine that we bought there and got to use a handful of times. From the minute we picked up the boat it had issues, it was sold new to us with around 30 hours on it already. We kept bringing the boat for the same issues and the never got fixed. We are almost a full year with a boat that doesn't work and they won't warranty anything, stranded 2 times out on the lake, excuses about poor staff they had to let go due to so many issues with boat returns. It is a 2018 Supra SL550 and a piece of junk, that looks nice. We will now be taking legal action and just left our boat at the dealership to stay. If you want to buy a boat and have fun on the lake I suggest you go elsewhere. The people and business at Fast Toys and Jesco seem like a way better option, if your looking to buy in Whitefish/Kalispel. read more

Well, after our pond hockey tourny was cancelled, we needed to fill the time. We had a group of 10 guys and this place was awesome! Rented snowmobiles and the two owners were super helpful, even their yellow lab was there to great us all! They gave us great instructions, kept us safe, gave us good routes and recommendations, and had all the gear we needed. The sleds were in great shape and we had no problems whatsoever, it was a blast! Would highly recommend, we'll be back there no matter what season it is! read more

After my Can-Am excursion fell through in Columbia Falls we decided to try to hop onto Whitefish lake on a boat. I walked into the Extreme Motorsports office and Garth was so helpful. He made accommodations for the boat to be picked up closer to the Whitefish lodge, where we were staying and made every effort to make our experience on the water a fun and easy one. We rented a boat for Aug 21 2015 which the process of reserving went smooth as we were visiting from out of state. We made the reservation 2 months in advance and put a deposit down.The weather was bad so we were unable to take the boat on the 21st the owner was helpful and rescheduled for the following day. To our disappointment the weather again turned bad and we were unable to get the boat. The owner assured us that we would get the deposit back if the boat was canceled due to weather. Well here we are September 10th and no refund. I have talked to the owner and he said he has credited it back to the account but the bank begs to differ. The owner does not return phone calls and seems to be keeping our boat deposit. Our next step will be legal action. read more

I first thought there was something wrong when I first looked at this. But, it appears there is a new owner at Extreme Motorsports. This last weekend I was with a fellow snowmobiler in the Whitefish area. While riding I had problems with my snowmobile that required me to leave it on the mountain overnight. The next day my friend and I were pulling the snowmobile out and ran into problems. While trying to figure out what to do an adult male came by and helped us out and we got the snowmobile loaded. He said his name was Garth and that he was the new owner of Extreme Motorsports. I live in a town 75 miles away and had always taken my snowmobile to another dealer and had some concerns leaving with it with someone new. But, since he helped us so much, I thought I would give him a try and have his business repair my snowmobile. I followed him to his business and met his wife, Kirsten at the front desk. From when I left and through out the repair process they were on the phone advising me of what was going on and asking what direction they wanted me to go with the repairs. After three days, I was called to come pick it up snowmobile. The communication through out the repairs was awesome and the final dollar amount came in under what I thought it would be. All the repairs on my snowmobile were completed to my satisfaction. Before I left, I ordered another accessory and will be driving 150 miles round trip to have them put it on. read more
