King Street used to be the place to be for luxury high street fashion in Manchester, with the likes of Jigsaw and Whistles drawing people away from The Arndale and across the city. Times have definitely changes as units become increasingly empty and restaurants or bars begin popping up in their place. White Stuff, however, has managed to retain its spot - and for good reason.
It not being my personal taste, I've never stepped foot inside, but a recent visit by my parents meant we popped in to take a look over the sale. The shop is very distinct and you can really tell you're in a White Stuff store, as opposed to a generic brand. There's a lot to look at (check out the hooks in the changing rooms, for example) which really reflects its personality.
The prices are high for me, though I can see myself grabbing a pair of their fleecy pyjama pants in the current sales, which look perfect for a lazy weekend. They also carry a small selection of homeware in this brand, with the likes of candles and general decorations, which would be perfect for a quick gift - or small personal treat!
What really stood out to me was the large sweet display behind each counter. Sales of these traditional sweet shop goodies go towards Wood Street Mission, and it's nice to see a business doing something a) a little bit different and b) for the good of a local cause. read more
