We ordered at the bar and they delivered the pizza to our table. We went with the Square Supreme, and it was amazing! The crust was perfectly crisp, soft and chewy all at the same time. The decor was fun and definitely offered plenty of photo ops. The iconographic wallpaper was a great topic of conversation too as we tried to guess the icons. Overall, fantastic experience! Which is great because it lets the brewer have complete control over their brews and keep them consistent. I was a huge fan of the Pumpkin Brown Coconut Ale "not a lot of folks making browns." And also like the Plan A which was a super crushable. Definitely a brewer that knows their craft! Absolutely enjoyed the beverages, and the bar tender. The only down side of the place is it's ambiance isn't very inviting. The colors and layout just seemed militant in a way, and not very original or warm.

We stopped in after going to Back Home Brewery. This place was night and day 100% better than Back Home. Banter has some delicious hazy IPAs to pick from. They also had a nice variety of other beer choices but the IPAs were calling my name. It sounded like that was the head brewer's specialty. The one I went with was absolutely delicious called the Iron Gospel. Great beer! the gentleman working the counter was also awesome and good patrons. Great conversation with some fun people. We will be back on our next trip back to the Springfield area.

Beers are plentiful with more than 8 beers on tap. For those that aren't beer lovers they have a couple frozen drink options that are always tasty. Food trucks vary from day to day but the best way to keep up on trucks is follow their FB page. The owners are super nice and down to earth. They are always doing charity events which is awesome. After frequent visits to this bar, it feels like the staff doesn't want you there, ranging from…read morebeing cold and unfriendly to just outright ignoring you. The first couple of visits were decent, but the service eventually went plummeting downhill. The ambiance and food is good, and it seems like a very calm space, but it is overall not worth feeling unwelcome and out-of-place. There is a reason why typical nights at another laid-back, 21+ bar (Flea, Grad School, etc.) is packed with people, while Mudlounge is usually at medium capacity at best. The consistent amount of different events at Mudlounge may be a sign that the business may need these events to get people to come to the bar. Maybe Mudlounge would not need so many events if the environment and staff weren't so inhospitable. The only reason why I would choose to come to Mudlounge over another bar is the availability of food, but after my last visit I would rather just eat at a place like Picklemans or Greek Belly (restaraunts that are right next door) before going out to a bar. It seems that many negative reviews of this business echo my same sentiments, showing that this is a consistent issue patrons experience and not just a negative one off.
