Less than 1 year after moving in I noticed they had missed two places on my house where there was no kick flashing installed. This is a common mistake in roofing and causes huge water damage over time. I was a first time homebuyer so I didn't know to check for it. Now that I do, it is obvious that it was missing. Believe it or not, I read about this very thing on home inspection websites. The siding and wall of the house where it was missing is completely rotted and was at the time of inspection. The inspection experience was great so I will keep a star, however failing to inspect the siding/roof thoroughly will cost me about 7k. Professionals should have done better. I could have negotiated down during purchase. Now it's cash out of my pocket. My advice to you - get your new house inspected twice. Inspectors make mistakes and you will have no recourse after settlement.

My only knock on the service is that the documentation format is a bit old school and does not have pictures and a nice looking printed report for delivery. (Trust me, you want pictures. Be at the home inspection, follow him around and take pictures.) It is mostly hand written notes on a form. His pricing is reasonable, on par with other home inspectors that I used in the past or got quotes from. I am very satisfied with his work and I would not hesitate to recommend using him.
