Home inspector scared away our buyers because of a terrible written report. Home inspector told the homeowner there was structural issues. After have a structural engineer debunk his accusations ridiculous repairs had to be remediated on a 40 year old home including the washer where a spot of water was left sitting on the rubber of the washer turning to "MOLD" wish he just would have taken a paper towel from under the sink and dry it up like I did. Also thanks for breaking receptacle covering when inspecting and leaving the broken ones on the floor also leaving our empty homes garage door left unlocked . Wouldn"t recommend this unprofessional company to anyone if they want to buy or sell, poor buyers paid for the lose of a fine 40 year old home with minor repairs and all major defects as inspector stated where debunked by licensed professional of the particular trade. read more

We got an inspection for $600 and they never checked to see if the heater was operational. Our system, though old, was said to be functional and was rated "good" on almost all aspects of their report. Eventually we posted about it on Facebook and the owner asked if we can discuss it over the phone. By the end of the discussion, the conclusion was that they couldn't be bothered to turn the thermostat up 10 degrees, wait 10 minutes, then check the vents with the heat gun. Now we are out $600 dollars for the inspection, $170 for a temporary repair, and whatever it's going to cost to replace the system. We COULD have negotiated the heater when we were bargaining the price of the house, but now we inherited a faulty system in the middle of a cold winter. What made this worse was that no solution was given to us at the end of our phone discussion except that the home warranty they offered would cover the heater. The warranty will cost $500 for 18 months. They should have eaten the cost of the warranty and replaced the heater themselves. That wasn't offered, nor was a refund offered for the inspection. Guess we are going to file a complaint with the state. read more

Grateful for the team's ability to rapidly schedule an inspection for a large and complicated 1930s home. The sellers had placed a VERY tight timeline for inspections in our contract, so time was of the essence. A team of two worked for HOURS tracing down systems in this unique house. Their use of a drone to inspect the roof and chimney revealed insights that a simple roof walk-around might have missed. Near the end of the day, the 'zen master' of home inspections, Kyle, showed up and I learned more from him in a 30-minute walk-around than I did during a full day walking around with the team. To be clear, the assigned team did fine, but if you have a complex or unusual or older property, I recommend you ask for Kyle. The final report write up (and an intuitive web-based version) was extensive, including detailed photos of every discrepancy. However, in some areas, the findings were written up vaguely or in an un-actionable/inconclusive manner. I called the company and asked them to edit those sections for clarity, which they promptly did. Great work, and again, thanks for the quick response. read more

While Beck Inspect never told me when they were doing the inspection which had me quite upset the inspector did do a great job on the report. The inspector also followed up with me a few days later. In all I was quite happy. That was until Beck Inspects sold/shared my information to telemarketers. It started with Porch. Porch said they were given my information by Beck. They knew my email, phone number, and new house address. They offered all these free utility switching services but then tried to sell me hard on new home insurance. I said no thank you. Told them I didn't want anything. Then I started getting emails and phone calls for home insurance on the new home. All these people have the new address I haven't even moved into. My information has been shared what seems like everywhere. I would not wish this on anyone. Don't use Becks unless you want all your data shared! I just needed an inspector to inspect my home. Thats it. Very disappointed. read more

We are getting ready to buy a house in Baltimore. We contracted Beck Inspect to conduct and prepare the required Property Inspection Report. We are fully satisfied with whole process starting from the initial contact to Beck Inspects to getting the final report. We received full information and got proper answers to all our questions before signing the contract. The inspection was thorough and well done. Despite COVID-19 emergency we were given the opportunity to get a preliminary in person (keeping distance and protection) report at the property where the inspector provided detailed description of the findings and possible remedies. After that meeting it took less than 2 hours to get the full reports with detailed explanation of the findings and associated photos.
