This is a convenient place to go if you're staying at the lodge above, but it would not otherwise be on my radar. The staff is nice, it's a relaxed atmosphere. The food is somewhere between standard and elevated. The salmon Benedict was the nicer of the two meals I've had. The latte is light and smooth. I can't speak to non-breakfast meals but I noted delivery drivers come and go so presumably people are eating there. read more

All genius marketing and controversy aside, you need to do something right for costumers to come back. The nice people of Lovin Dublin crowned their pancakes the best in town so I was really looking forward to them. The café is below ground level and part of a guesthouse on NCR. I received a warm reception when I arrived, big smiles all around and was seated straight away. I almost changed my mind and picked asparagus salad with eggs cause that just sounded devine but then stuck to my original craving and ordered pancakes. I should have gone with the salad. The pancakes were very dense, not fluffy at all. They came with some berry coulis and mascarpone but there was only coulis between the first two pancakes, making this a very dry affair after the first few bites. So either the chef had an off- day or my taste in pancakes is questionable. Either way, I'll try the asparagus salad next time. read more

Dublin is fun and this place makes it even more so. We stayed in the Temple Bar area and White Moose is 1/2 hour walk or 5-10 minutes by car. I've had the full Irish breakfast and while it is great.... baked beans? Also, like every place in Dublin, prices seem high to a California boy...! The staff are wicked witty and quick. (Just a note, when you see the recent 1 star ratings, look at them closely to see if they actually visited. Some people are writing bad reviews because a young lady was begging after a free room in exchange for publicity on her blog or something and they called her out on it, and now they feel sorry for her. (Why? That's the danger in asking for free stuff!) She mentioned Universal Orlando actually fell for her plan, which really decreased my respect for UO.) read more

So I got a groupon for the white moose café which was the main incentive I had to get a lunch here! I have to say I was quite pleasantly surprised with the food we received! I got the fish finger sandwich which consisted of monkfish cheek covered in bread crumbs on a Waterford Blaa with some lovely Dijon sauce and a side of Chips with a lovely little tub of ketchup. It was tasty and definitely worth the 6 euro we essentially payed for it! My girlfriend got the ham hock sandwiches which came with mustard and rocket on a Blaa also. We both left pretty stuffed and satisfied and along with the meal we got two lattes which were incredibly tasty and refreshing! Honestly I was very split on how to rate this but decided to go purely on my own experience here with the amount we paid. The reason I would dock a star would be the emptiness of the restaurant and how the waitress wasn't very attentive mainly because she seemed incredibly bored and there was literally no one in the place but us. read more

My local area is a bit starved of quality places to eat so a friend and I thought to give this place a go. I really enjoyed it. We had a white moose hot chocolate each which was gorgeous. it tasted like white chocolate and had very drinkable caramel at the bottom. I would have drank a bucket of it. I had a full irish breakfast with toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans, sausage and fried mushroom. It was all great though the toast that came with it i felt a bit too hard and crunchy. The decor of the resturant is very nice and i definitely want to return at my earliest opportunity. read more

This place has been on the bookmark list for a while and finally got the chance to go last week. It did not disappoint, and took me by bit of a surprise. The place is lovely and quant inside, I was expecting a bit more rough and ready judging by their Facebook account. Staff are super attentive, offering free tea refills with our food. The menu is extensive, and I'd go seriously hungry as their portions are huge! I didn't have room for pancakes, but it gives me an excuse to go again! It's so well priced, with two huge breakfast, coffee and endless tea totally less that €17. As a new local to Phibsborough I've been coming to white Moose for the past 12 months, the food is exceptional, the staff are chatty and friendly and they are also dog lovers. Definitely worth a visit for brunch. My favourites are the yoghurt, porridge and the avocado and eggs. read more

had Breakfast and lunch here while staying in the Charleville Lodge Hotel and i love every thing about this cafe, the setting, the staff, the management....the Menus (i'm just saying, if your waiter/Waitress asks if you want to keep the menu to read while you wait...take it) Lunch was amazing, simply put, the most amazing buffalo wings i have ever had...and i love my wings. my girlfriend had the soup and she was talking about it all day...i mean soup...that's how good it was. Breakfast i had a mini breakfast which i feel was false advertising... there was way too much on my plate to call it mini...it was amazing i just couldn't finish it.lol my girlfriend is a vegetarian (but not one of the awkward ones) so she had the yoghurt which she was in love with, the presentation was almost as good as the taste. thanks to Hayley (well done on your first day) and Jason who was so pleasant. you can tell when people genuinely love coming to work, and that is evident here. and thanks to the owner who took the time to come over and talk to us. we were already relaxed but he makes you feel like a valued customer. read more

I have loved all of my trips to Ireland.... and this was no exception.... this particular cafe happened to be on the road (I was lost on).... I have to get better at reading maps when I have no phone service.... but in this case it was worth it... loved the food here... charming and welcoming ... the people running the cafe were so sweet and loved telling me about the local areas tourist sites.... when my kids come back to Ireland again I will make sure they stop by for some great food .... so happy I found this little cafe! read more

So... A little while back i posted a review on the White Moose, although I had never eaten there, I did promise I'd be back for the ULTIMATE review.... so here it is..... I had forgot my sambos this morning, and after debating with her good self, she decided (really just TOLD ME) that I eat out, while the dog savoured a 3 meat, 2 salad selection on Ciabatta bread. White Moose Cafe to the rescue!!!! Entering the door of the cafe, I was greeted with nice laid back soft dance music. The cafe was lovely and warm, and the greeting by Sorcha was equally as warm. Decor is very inviting, you almost feel like your sat in your mothers kitchen... only she listens to club music... (not complaining) Shown to my seat (I had the choice - and probably a rare thing to behold) I promptly ordered an Americano, and a Hungry Moose (Yes - I was a hungry moose today!!) Americano was on point, blend is very similar to Ariosa, which went down well with me. But lets get to the main event... A WHOPPING burger was produced (obviously from the heavens) on a flat board with chunky chips and that ever present Sorcha smile Burger was cooked to perfection, the ham hock was just divine (i almost contemplated licking the table for the bits that fell, it was overflowing) Brie and Ballymaloe Relish.... the is the ALL-STAR of burgers!! near the end of what seemed an eternity of bliss, i came to the end of my burger, Payzone are harping on that my parking is up in 5 minutes, time for a quick exit... Sorcha takes care of the transaction, while Jason give me a nice friendly "Hi" and a smile. I can safely say I will definitely be back, at least twice a week if i can help it.. I got the veggie brekkie and I loved it. Simple but the hash brown was so incredible. My bf got the breakfast burrito. Several others got the eggs Benedict and marshmallow pancakes and I didn't hear a single complaint! The restaurant is so dope and you have to have a sense of humor to like it there.
