They make me comfortable coming in and out and not feeling like a burden. Second they really do have great customer service. They aren't pushing for a sale. They make sure they provide what you need and is ok if you don't like what they suggest. Prices vary but they have a selection of everything which is nice to see.

The first item on our wish list: a hat for our 1-year-old nephew. The clerk quickly showed us to a display of winter hats, and we found a great knit hat for roughly $30 that will hopefully stretch a bit as our nephew grows. And since we have a baby on the way, we couldn't resist looking for something fun for our babe too. Smoochie Baby carries everything from baby and infant clothes and shoes and accessories to books to nursery decor to toys. (I particularly remember that Smoochie Baby carries shoes because in perhaps an example of Brooklyn extraness, the customers who came in after us asked the clerk if they stock any vegan baby shoes.) We ended up going with a soft, plush dragon -- our future son's first stuffed animal. It seems well made and didn't break the bank at about $35. And it makes me smile every time I look at it. Smoochie Baby also offers gift wrapping. Whether you're buying for your own kids or others, this is a great place to stop.

The customer service alone is what had me thinking 'I've gotta write a Yelp review for this place'…read more We live in the neighborhood where there are a few options for baby clothing/accessories/etc. For me, they fall into two categories: Regular shopping and "I guess it was good to check it out once so I know what they have". This place definitely falls into the regular shopping category for me. First off, I want to address the customer service comment I referred to. The woman who helped my wife and I pick out some clothing was super helpful, patient, and did not have a pressured salesy approach. Our stroller's bassinet hood was mostly closed because the baby was sleeping, and she did not even attempt to look into it. She asked, "Boy/Girl? Age?" and then went to pick out the appropriate items that might work for us. So what's the big hoopla about this? Well, we're losing count for the amount of times random people will come up to a mostly closed off bassinet hood and try to peek in, get close to, or even touch the baby. Since the baby is only a few months old we prefer to not have her being touched by strangers due to only having a handful of shots so far. Some people are excited by the prospect of meeting a baby but probably aren't aware parents have different tolerances for who gets near the baby. Anyway, this interaction, while subtle, made me think, "She gets it". After we picked out something we liked, she left us to browse at our convenience. The selection of clothing here is great - variety, sizes, etc. Also lots of books and toys that we'll be back to take a look at once we get through all the other stuff we currently have at home. Highly recommend stopping by to check out!

Awesome store with cute kids stuff and amazing staff. Loves the selection! We'll be back soon!read more

First off I would just like to say that if you are checking out this page and CHB doesn't have a…read moreton of reviews yet it's because I liked the weekend intensive course so much that I asked Samantha to create a Yelp account for CHB. They have been around for many years (since 2011) and are very experienced. My only "negative" feedback is that when I was looking for a Childbirth Intensive class to do I wasn't able to see any reviews on Yelp for peace of mind :) That said, pregnancy is stressful business, especially for first time parents. What to expect as we get closer to the end of the pregnancy? What's up with this or that weird thing your body and baby are doing? The stressful anticipation of the big day. How are we going to do all of this together? And not to mention the overriding sense of "oh shit when this is all done it's just going to be starting".... So professional help is very welcome and NEEDED. The Childbirth Weekend Intensive with Samantha was beyond professional. It was clear that she and Melissa, who was assisting her, were doulas and educators because they are very passionate about helping women and couples have a positive and meaningful birth experience. When I originally imagined the weekend intensive course I imagined two packed and stressful days spent just jamming information into our minds, but what I experienced was the absolute opposite. The pace of the course was perfect and didn't feel overwhelming as the term "intensive" would suggest. Asking questions at any point about anything was encouraged. The other couples at the course were hugely beneficial to the overall experience since we all brought different types of questions to the table. We all learned a lot about the biology of birth, strategies for managing paying, strategies for having a good experience at the hospital, and really we received a solid foundation for coping with everything that we had ahead of us. At the end of the weekend we did not feel overwhelmed but rather empowered. I would also like to stress that I think it's unusual to interact with someone teaching a course that seems to care so much about your experience and your outcomes. Samantha's empathy and caring really stood out for me and she was also very knowledgeable and able to competently answer all of our questions (even the weird over technical ones). So THANK YOU CHB and Samantha for getting us emotionally and intellectually prepared for the big day and beyond!

With an already generous 1.8 average rating, I naively assumed the bar couldn't possibly be as low as advertised. After sifting through hundreds of dusty pieces of "art", and I use that term with charity, I found myself staring at a selection that included high school diplomas, finger paintings, and several canvases that seemed to have lost a fight with both mold and a Sharpie. It's unclear whether these pieces were abandoned, donated, or simply left on the curb and swept inside, but the result is the same: a museum of mediocrity, priced like MoMA's gift shop. Finally, after unearthing a painting that at least had the decency to resemble actual decor, I politely offered the cashier $20 cash for an item marked $29.99. This is where the experience somehow managed to get worse. She refused outright- not even a token pause to feign consideration- then snatched the painting out of my hands with the kind of hostility usually reserved for airport security confiscating contraband. Her tone could best be described as performatively rude as though she'd been waiting all day for the chance to unleash it on someone. If you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience while shopping for discarded student art at boutique prices, this is your paradise.
