During the procedure, Dr. Rasmussen made me as comfortable as possible and explained what I would feel. I was not in any pain. I have seen Dr. Rasmussen several times over the past 18 months. He has checked on how the root canal was healing. Each time he explained what the x-rays showed and patiently answered my questions . I recently saw Dr. Rasmussen again about another tooth. Again, he was very thorough, explained what the x-rays and his tests showed and patiently answered my many questions. I highly recommend Southern Oregon Endodontics. Dr. Rasmussen is a very compassionate, ethical, and accomplished endodontist. His receptionist and assistants are friendly, caring and professional. I had an appointment this week and they called me 2 days prior to reschedule it because they were short on hygienists. They offered me 8am which did not work for my schedule so they said that the next available was SEPTEMBER. Scheduling issues are usually made apparent much farther in advance and this should have been dealt with much sooner than it had been (she said a hygienist had moved...TODAY?!). Unacceptable. I will not be returning. I was able to be seen elsewhere in 2 months. Much more reasonable.

I went in with a broken gold inlay -- a problem any competent restorative dentist can fix properly. Instead, I was told a full crown was my only option. No alternatives, no discussion, no warning that this could put the tooth at risk. Well, now I know why: they simply don't have the skill to do anything else. That rushed crown ultimately cost me the entire tooth. After developing an abscess, a board-certified endodontist examined a 3-D scan and confirmed the tooth is dead and must be extracted. I'm now facing months of healing and an expensive implant because this place chose speed over quality. I brush, floss, and take excellent care of my teeth. I had zero issues with this tooth before it was crowned here. This practice didn't just waste my time -- it cost me a tooth. We stayed at a hotel in Jacksonville that night, so I called several dentists in the Jacksonville area to find out if they can see me on a short notice, and finally this office could squeeze me in (I think on their lunch hour, which I noticed later). Everybody was super nice and they even emailed the xrays to my regular dentist. Turned out I had an abscessed tooth and got antibiotics. Dr. Miller was right, I had to get the root canal redone, because one of the roots was not filled out completely and that is what caused the infection. She is a clear communicator and keeps me informed of anything I need to know as well as answering my questions. Last winter I had to have a cracked rear molar removed. The oral surgeon that worked on me did a superb job. Afterward I had no tenderness at all. He basicallly destroyed one of my teeth, leaving a massive ridge across the the back of, that I have since had repaired by an ethical, good dentist. He also refused to do a filling that he insisted needed a crown, something I did not feel good about and have since had filled with no problem- the other dentist didn't even make mention of a crown being a potential option. He spent literally 10 min. in my mouth to do 2 fillings, the epoxy he used did not remotely match (my other tooth looks like a candy corn or something) and the other is the included image (taken by the dentist I saw a month later) I seriously felt he was high on something. AVOID.
