With further research I now know that it would have damaged my perfect wisdom tooth to drill and fill a tooth without decay! So sadly I have to say Dr Hill will not see me in his office again and please get a second opinion if you have a doubt about what is recommended.

Scheduling issues are usually made apparent much farther in advance and this should have been dealt with much sooner than it had been (she said a hygienist had moved...TODAY?!). Unacceptable. I went in with a broken gold inlay -- a problem any competent restorative dentist can fix properly. Instead, I was told a full crown was my only option. No alternatives, no discussion, no warning that this could put the tooth at risk. Well, now I know why: they simply don't have the skill to do anything else. That rushed crown ultimately cost me the entire tooth. After developing an abscess, a board-certified endodontist examined a 3-D scan and confirmed the tooth is dead and must be extracted. I'm now facing months of healing and an expensive implant because this place chose speed over quality. I brush, floss, and take excellent care of my teeth. I had zero issues with this tooth before it was crowned here. This practice didn't just waste my time -- it cost me a tooth. If you want real dentistry instead of assembly-line shortcuts, go anywhere else.

The dental hygienists are super nice and thorough but gentle. We leave with squeaky clean teeth yet we don't feel like we've been through an Enhanced Interrogation session. Everyone from the hygienists through the front office staff has been very friendly and welcoming. It's a pretty busy office and appointments book out pretty far in advance (we come every 6 months and schedule our next appointment at the conclusion of the current appointment), but the schedulers have always worked hard to get us in if we have a problem and need a sudden appointment. I'm lucky and don't have a lot of dental problems, even at age 60, but Dr. Cullen has repaired several chipped teeth I've had and the repairs have been absolutely perfect. He has also been working on customizing a mouthpiece for my CPAP machine since my old mouthpiece was causing some bite problems. I can't speak to the previous reviewer's problems but her experience in no way relates to ours. I would definitely recommend Dr. Cullen and his staff to anyone.

I've only been to a few acupuncturist before, and had a few "somatic acupuncture" sessions. I chose this modality because I actually had a few very good experiences with somatic emotional reexperincing type of therapies, guided meditations by trained therapists that also do bodywork. Yes its a little new age, but I had a few done at a treatment center in Arizona once and wanted to find someone in the Bay Area that might be able to approximate. Jeremy asked me a few very generic questions during a session that were directed at "getting to the source" (or something). He also prescribed some chinese herbs without really telling me what was in them, or what they did, at a level of scientific understanding that I trusted. "Calming wind" is not a scientifically valid therapeutic mechanism -- and although I do believe many of the herbs used in chinese medicine ARE of therapeutic value, it's unclear to me why in this day and age (and we certainly should not accept) practitioners use these antiquated metaphors. The acupuncture was on the expensive side and of unclear benefit to my insomnia. The somatic acupuncutre was near-uesless and all I could think about was "are you kidding me" when I heard the series of questions. And this is coming from someone who has received significant benefit from trained psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, and others. FInally, he had a really offputting and disturbing smugness/arrogance, wasn't particularly friendly, and I just didn't trust him I'm sorry to say (though he gave me no particular reason not to besides the above). **Update** Jeremy graciously offered to refund my money after I posted my review, which I appreciated (and most certainly did not expect, given that I wrote this review 9 months after service after receiving a marketing email from him). And I should stress that this review was specifically about the Somatic Acupuncture specialty he markets, NOT general acupuncutre which he also offers. While I won't be removing my negative review as he requested after I accepted his refund offer, as I find that unambigiously ethically dubious, I hope this update provides some clarity.**

He gave me some Chinese herbs to drink and while I think most people would be challenged by the taste, I actually liked the way it tasted like earth. In any case it fixed me up completely. The latest thing was my left shoulder had been oddly impinged when trying to raise it up (like when you put on a coat). Once again, a few needles and it improved greatly. Of course I went in a few more times to make sure the channel stayed open. I like to combine the acupuncture session with a cranio-sacral session. David is so calm and thoughtful. I know I can count on him to really pay attention to what I need. I cannot recommend him more highly. If you schedule an appointment you might want to schedule two or three a few days apart because he is super busy and tends to be booked out a long ways. Absolutely worth the wait!
