The fish tallapia sandwich smelled like it was turning bad, like stagnant swamp water. I could not stomach it. That was a waste of $14.00. Then I was charged another $8.00 to get a hamber instead. My husband talked to the manager, (girl with long blond hair) as I don't know her name. He told her that he didn't think it was right to charge me again since the fish was bad. She just looked at him blankly and asked, "Would you like an ice cream?" We didn't come for ice cream this evening. We came for dinner and were very disappointed. The burgers were great and I probably would have just let the rotten fish slide if I hadn't gotten recharged for a replacement sandwich. It's not like I ate the sandwich and wanted another. Closes during the winter and is booming during the summer. I've eaten the food here as well and it is, we will say, mediocre-at-best. My review is based on their ice cream and desserts. My new favorite right now is there cotton candy dip cones! Which is a sugar cone, with cotton candy ice cream dipped in a cotton candy hardshell with sprinkles on top sounds crazy sweet, but it's the type of treat that when your done you wished you had more! The White Cottage has a tiny dining room and you can dine-in or carry out any night of the week. They serve diner favorites like cod sandwiches, grilled cheese, patty melts, and good ol' hamburgers. They also make their own home-made ice cream on the premises and also serve a whole range of ice cream treats like concretes, milkshakes, and home made ice cream sandwiches (soft serve between two chocolate chip cookies).
