This White Castle brings back a lot of nostalgia as it has been here for nearly 50 years. The fact that it still operates 24/7 was amazing. Conveniently located next to a highway entrance, I made a pit stop for the first time in a very long time. I was the only customer inside while a few cars were lined up in the drive thru. I am pretty sure the layout has changed over the decades as I remember it was more of a greasy spoon with service windows and all booth seating. There were ten varieties of sliders on the menu. I can recall The Original Slider being priced as low as $0.19 each! Now the cost was up to $0.99, but it was still less than a dollar. The other choices had prices as high as $2.99. Combo Craves and Shareable Meals were bundles that could be purchased to save a few bucks. I decided to go with several individual sliders for my to-go order... Original, 1921, Chicken Ring, and Panko Fish. The Original consisted of a patty made with 100% beef that was steam grilled on a bed of onions and served on a signature bun. The 1921 was named in honor of the year this business was founded in Wichita, KS. Lettuce, cheese, and grilled onion were the toppings added to the patty. The Chicken Ring was exactly as described with a breaded piece of chicken in the form of a ring placed between the steamed buns. The Panko Fish was the most expensive and contained a panko breaded whitefish patty. I still enjoyed The Original the most because of its simplicity. White Castle has always been known to be a cheap fill if you are craving burgers. Yes, the sliders are tiny, but that's part of the allure. We don't have this business in Southern California which I found to be odd. I figured if locations existed in Las Vegas, then why not migrate all the way to the coast? read more

I have not been in here for many years. Located at very busy Ford and 275. The parking lot looks beat up. Inside the staff was nice, the food was made quickly, the staff emphasized the sandwiches would be delayed because they crack fresh eggs for them. And it was standard White Castle food. read more

Pick up some food the other night and used cash. Here's the issue, they didn't have pennies and they felt it would be acceptable to take four cents rather than give me one. My change was a couple of dollars and 49-cents and the manager thought that it was acceptable to give me 45-cents instead. I think not!!! read more

I don't have a WC near me so I try to stop when I'm in the area. Nelly bombers are made fresh to order and man I don't mind waiting. A little tricky to get to being just next to the busy freeway but it was all good. Driving thru and the young lady in the speaker was super friendly and polite. I pulled around and guy at window was a ray of sunshine! He was so happy and nice. I pulled away with my onion chips, two jalapeño cheese and one fish but had to pop inside because I forgot to ask for the dipping sauce that goes with the chips. Im not sure why these guys have gotten some low ratings - it certainly wasn't for the Sunday morning crew. I came into town from the airport for a funeral and made a stop here. Never really have had a letdown but this time the food was really good for WC fare and the counter person was helpful. I can only get limited frozen burgers out where I live so this place is like a flagship WC of sorts. Got sick after going to one in Indiana so don't take this place for granted. Of note: the 1921 burger, bacon & egg slider for breakfast + the chicken waffle! Those do come at a premium for WC tho :I Place is clean in the morning. Didn't get 5 stars because the coke machine gave a classic cone that was a bit too carbonated. You could do worse than this place. What horrible service. Stopped there last night about 10:30pm from the airport and we were starving. We ordered 5 doubles and onion chips at the drive thru. Should have known something cuz they talked slow motion with no effort or politeness. Back on 275 and head north only to learn we paid for doubles but got singles. Considering this is fast food, they actually did a really good job. This was my first time ever going to a white castle in my entire life, it was better than I thought it would be. When I was little, my mom told me that the meat inside the white castle slider was made out of ponies so I never wanted to eat them growing up. Finally went to try it because there was one nearby where we were driving at night, and they were actually quite tasty. I'm not sure I would go out of my way to get them in the future, before what I got was actually pretty decent. I remember when this White Castle opened. I looked up I-275, the highway that runs north-south adjacent to this outlet of the fast food chain, which must supply most of its business. That route was finished up the year after the Bicentennial, in 1977, and my family moved to the area just afterward, from nearby Northville. To the best of my memory, cornfields still dominated, and our house was off a dirt road maybe a five minute drive from this venue for sliders. My parents, immigrants from China via Taiwan, were partial to White Castle burgers. Their size and the steam grilling preparation method reminded them of Chinese buns. So we went there more than we did to its rivals. The location also made it convenient. Although I left for college in 1984, I moved back to the Detroit metropolis exactly a generation later, 20 years, for work. I stopped into White Castle whenever I happened to driving through. All in all, I've probably eaten there three dozen times. I haven't been by since the pandemic, but I wanted to jot this review out of nostalgia. I frequent White Castle on the East Coast nowadays. Both times I've been here my order has been correct and my burgers cooked the way I like them. Nice and greasy with the bun sticking to the meat and cheese. It's cheap fast food so don't expect Angus beef quality. I'm not even sure if it's USDA approved beef. Or even beef for that matter but it's artery hardening at its finest. Best after a night of drinking. You'll appreciate it more when it soaks up some of that excess alcohol. Today: - I ordered three mozzarella sticks and was charged for and received five. - I asked for pickles on three of my six sliders. None had pickles. - I ordered a sack of fries. Not only did they hand me my order with no fries (I came back after checking the bag), but they hadn't even put fries into the fryer. So we had to wait while they cooked. White Castle! From my youth I have fond memories of walking to White Castle in Elmhurst, New York on Queens Boulevard. We would go there sometimes after shopping at Macy's or the Mall or visiting friends or doing other things. My father would sometimes make a special stop on the way home on the subway from Manhattan to pick up White Castle. It was a treat later on to be sent myself to pick them up. It was a temptation not to eat them all as I walked home. As a teenager it was a safe place to go any time day or night. When I moved to Michigan 21 years ago I was happy to see the White Castle here in Canton, Michigan on Ford Road. Amazingly the burgers were made and tasted nearly exactly the same as the ones I had as a child, teenager and young adult. The service at this location is casual and friendly. The dining area is kept clean and pristine. The folks here work really hard and it shows. Something I didn't have when growing up at White Castle was Church's Fried Chicken - well - they have it now! Hot fried chicken, delicious biscuits, cole slaw, sides - it's all there! My favorite lately has been the White Castle burgers (sliders) with Jalapeno Cheese slices - wow! Zing! It's easy in to the parking lot heading east on Ford Road - it takes a little planning if you are heading west but a simple turn and you are there safely. (Watch the intersection at Ford and Haggerty! Caution!) Plenty of parking. The grounds and parking lot are kept clean and clear in all weather. How long has this chain been around? I can't figure out why. This was my first visit to a White Castle ever, and I can promise it will be my last. I did it. I tried it. The little 2" square sponge soaked with grease and onions and something resembling meat with an orange colored cheese-like film on top was underwhelming to look at and barely edible. It says a lot that I couldn't even pry it open to put a little ketchup on there to help the second bite. It was goopy. I was sorry. Came home for Thanksgiving. We don't have White Castle in North Carolina where I live so I had to get me some sliders while I'm here. I proceeded to order up 6 original sliders, 6 piece chicken rings and a medium order of onion petals. Right after I got the to go bag I noticed the heavenly aroma from the bag of goodies. I even noticed a couple of grease stains telling you that it is legit. As I took out the first slider, I immediately thought of that movie "Harold and Kumar Goes to White Castle" and that scene at the drive through when the burger employee said "every time I think about those juicy, delicious burgers, it makes me want to burn this muthafucka down" The sliders are juicy and the buns are perfectly steamed. The little pickle on top of the burger adds a nice little touch. My only complaint is that the bottom bun was soggy. The onion petals goes great with the zesty sauce. The chicken rings had a nice layer of breading and went very well with the honey mustard sauce. I'll definitely stop by every time I'm back in Michigan. read more

When I was leaving they harassed me and told me to pay $4 for "DISPENSING" the lemonade even though they saw I didn't drink it.
