I have to be honest, I read the reviews and was terrified my 1500lb engine lathe was being delivered by a company with such a poor rating... I called them and spoke with Bill at 11am on Weds, he was very helpful and told me what to expect and suggested I call Jim tomorrow after 1pm to arrange details. Well, before I had the chance, Jim called me right at 1pm on Thurs. We spoke and he told me that I should expect my delivery the following day from 11am to 3pm (which was the same day the original delivery estimate had quoted). Mike shows up at 11am Friday (today -- about an hour ago). Mike was a very friendly guy, we chatted about all kinds of stuff. Mike was a wizard getting that huge crate off the truck with nothing but a palette jack -- that poor guy definitely needs a bigger liftgate! In any case, it arrived safely, no problems, I couldn't be happier. I rarely leave reviews on Yelp anymore but after reading all the negativity on here about these guys and how my experience was the complete opposite, I felt I owed them a review. read more

They were delivering a shipment to me as the final destination carrier. Everyone from dispatch to final driver were so friendly and helpful! AJ was the driver and he was very accommodating especially since this was listed as a drop off delivery no person needed. He had already delivered before I spoke to him but put it right in plain view of the camera when I wasn't home. He called me and offered to be helpful. Wish more people were this understanding and helpful! I was 4 hours away and had no idea the delivery was going to happen. He really help me not be stressed about it. ABSOLUTELY EMBARRASSING CUSTOMER SERVICE. had an order fit our business that sat at the white bear yard for one week. finally get a delivery after a week of waiting for them to deliver and show up without the main portion of the order. driver lied and said oh that just got there today then when asked about lying because we have tracking that everything was in white beatd possession driver turns to an absolute punk and says well we can't deliver the rest of your order until next week that's just the way it works sweetheart. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Delivery service. Bill and Sharon, this company has held on to my order from Home Depot for more than a week. When i spoke to Katie to ask why, Katie said that they had tried to deliver it multiple times and GPS sent them to a vacant lot. I told Katie that the GPS says it is an empty lot but GPS sends me straight to the address and I am standing in my home as we spoke. She laughed and said oh the driver must have looked at it on GPS and thought it was a vacant lot. She stated that they will get it out to me soon. When I asked when, Katie laughed and said "Oh it'll be out soon." When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she laughed and said her supervisor wasn't in but that she would give them the message. Yes I am angry! No one even called to see what was going on. This order was supposed to be delivered 12/28/20 then 12/30/20. White Bear Transportation did not do their job. There was no due diligence to find where the order was supposed to go. BTW they are holding my product worth over $1700. They say it will be delivered tomorrow between 10 and 3. This company sucks. They are an interline carrier for major carriers however they do not follow through with their commitments. Doesn't matter what the BOL says and although they agreed to the particular service / delivery by accepting the shipment they will not deliver under the agreed upon terms. Initially we were pretty disgusted with the service of this company but our review is for the awesome young man who single handedly delivered our two bathroom vanities. Jesse came in the afternoon & backed that huge truck down our narrow driveway. He then proceeded, by himself, to unload two vanities, sinks & tops, from the truck by himself & place them exactly where my hubby asked him to. They weighed approximately 850 lbs. Sure, he had a small lift type piece of equipment, but the way he moved that stuff out of the truck, onto the ground then pushed it, while on the wooden pallet, to our garage was nothing short of amazing. It was really hot, too! Must have been about 95 degrees. Jesse was polite, professional, helpful & awesome to deal with! White Bear needs to give him a big raise!!!! read more

They are terrible. Late pickups. Late deliveries. Never answer the phone. They are unreachable and irresponsible, just the way they seem to prefer it. Avoid them like the plague. UPS Freight should be ashamed of contracting work out to them. read more

We've had consistently positive experiences with White Bear. We live in rural Miramonte, just outside Kings Canyon National Park. Our house is off the main road along a half mile dirt drive. It's clearly signed but not every delivery company seems to be able to find it. White Bear seems to be the only company that brings big LTL shipments up here. Their driver is friendly and skilled; he knows us after a few deliveries. They bring by far the biggest truck that has to get in and out of our driveway, and he does it without a fuss. Always glad to see him backing up to our garage and lowering the lift gate with a new piece of furniture or other heavy delivery. I have never had a problem getting White Bear to answer the phone. I think you have to be somewhat realistic if you choose to buy a home in a fairly remote location like this. It's AMAZING that you can order stuff online and a truck shows up in the middle of nowhere a few days later to deliver it to your door. We encounter occasional issues with Fedex and Ontrac; White Bear matches UPS in terms of their reliability. Thanks guys, we look forward to seeing your driver coming into our forecourt. read more

Danger! I just had a parcel delivered to my home by Steve. He was angry with me because I did not respond to his small talk in the manner he wanted. He let me know he had been to my residence years prior, to clean the pool. I am home with my children and have prior law enforcement experience; so, do not engage with anyone I am unfamiliar with... my response to him was, "Okay." He did not like that, and asked me 'why I was being a b*tch and having a fucked up attitude.' He then told me 'I was also a rude b*tch to him on the phone earlier that day'. My children were present. I rushed them in the house. I then told Steve to get off my property and leave immediately. He threatened me with refusing to deliver my parcel. I disengaged with Steve by standing at my front porch, called his company and reported him immediately. (No word back, yet) I cannot gather the how or why of the situation. But, it was aggressive and concerning behavior. Steve is a danger to the company and caused an unnerving and dangerous situation, at my own home. There is no person who should have to be placed in this type of situation, especially at their own residence. White Bear Transportation should take this grievance seriously and resolve this issue before Steve has the opportunity to do this to another customer. read more

Horrible service. Ordered an oven from Build.com and what a fiasco it has been to get it delivered to our house at Bass Lake. First of all, they call me Friday morning for a Friday delivery. I live 4 hours away so I have repeatedly asked them to give me more advance notice. This has happened the last two Fridays. Then they said I missed their delivery! Second, they will only deliver to the Bass Lake Village. Drop it off at the bus stop and you are on your own to figure out how to get this 275# item to your house. It's almost laughable customer service. Office Manager is rude and kept cutting me off. Asked for the owners or her supervisor and she said the buck stopped with her. The owners should read some of these reviews. Very frustrating experience, no wonder they have so many 1 star reviews. It's so sad a company has to be run this way. read more

The drivers have been friendly, their office always communicates with us the deliveries and they arrive when they are supposed to. White Bear is one of the worst freight companies in California. Often used by long haulers for the short trip to the mountains, they consistently fumble and delay the last leg of delivery. Was nervous after seeing all the negative reviews previously posted, however our experience was very positive. The company was very courteous and prompt. When we contacted the customer service number the individual was very polite and helpful he was able to locate our information and item. It did take several attempts to contact the driver however this might have been due to cell reception in our area. Within two hours of calling our item arrived and was unloaded within five minutes. Also the item arrived one day earlier then anticipated so we did not have to take a day off of work for delivery. The driver was very skilled in backing up the semi truck down our long driveway. He was very respectful and careful in unloading the item. Due to the items size and weight he even moved it through several gates in order to place it where we wanted it. Additionally our location is somewhat different to find but the driver appeared to be knowledgeable in the area and road locations. The driver was mindful of social distancing which is so important right now. I would recommend others to use this company and will use them again in the future. read more

I'm very disappointed in White Bear Transportation. They actually believe it is ok to delay delivery because it is inconvenient for them. That is their business model according to the representative in Fresno, Ca. For our community here in the mountains, they feel it is perfectly fine for us to wait over a month for our deliveries. After leaving a bad review last week it is only fair as a former business owner to update the first review. Today our order arrived to the correct place with an experienced driver. The driver was great. We would give him 5 Stars for his performance. I would also like to thank Jim for sending someone more experienced to handle the load. The only thing I would add for future customers is to communicate the situation of where you live before taking delivery. Let the dispatcher know that you live on a dirt road or whatever the matter may be. It would have saved us some problems but as this is a local delivery company and we have received deliveries from them in the past we didn't realize we needed to. read more

I ordered a package from the Traffic Safety Store who shipped the package via UPS Freight. UPS Freight mysteriously handed the package off to White Bear Transportation to make the local delivery, and White Bear has hoarded the package for a week now. Is the package missing forever? Is it being sold on the black market? Is it sitting in a truck somewhere? Per many other internet reviews, this courier is a black hole for packages. I called White Bear Transportation twice during their advertised business hours (not lunch time or after hours). My calls were picked and forwarded into an outdated voicemail system (another black hole?). I will update this review if I am miraculously surprised, but until then, please avoid this courier at all costs. read more

It saddens me that there is not a ZERO Star offered because that is what I would have given. Like mentioned in many of the reviews, they held onto my package for over a week, never a phone call to let us know they even had it. This was an online order through Home Depot. Since it was a heavy item over weight for UPS, it was handed off to White Bear. After calls to Home Depot trying to figure out where my package was, they ended up cancelling and reordering the order because they couldn't even find the order. Not only was the delivery a week late, but when the delivery showed up the driver left it in the middle of my driveway. I showed him a couple of options as where I would like the item placed, my first choice was not an option but said my 2nd choice he said was no problem. I suggested that maybe he back the truck a little closer to where the items were to be placed and he stated it wouldn't make a difference. After getting the pallet off the truck and in the middle of the driveway then discovering he couldn't move it he just said, I guess this is where it is going to stay! This is one of several deliveries White Bear has made over the years to us and every time there has been a problem. Don't even try to call, dosen't matter what time of day, the only option is that outdated answering machine. If you ever do get someone to answer their phones, the manager "Bill" has just left or due in anytime. Save yourself frustration and time, just go with another delivery service. read more

By far one of the worst companies I've had to deal with in awhile. Like the previous reviewer stated, they hoard your package, and WILL not give you any info. DHE handed the package off to white bear to deliver about 2 HOURS away.. After a week and a half my customer still hadn't received their package, DHE finally just put me in contact with white bear directly. I got to speak with the lovely (Sarcasm) Sharon... After she ignored every single email I sent her, I called and she yelled at me and said "We'll get to it when we get to it," regarding the delivery date on the package... I ended up having to hire a new trucking company to pick it up from their facility and deliver to the customer.. Which mind you, the new company did in one day... Would never ever recommend this company to anyone. After reading other reviews from other people, it amazes me these people are still in business, their customer service is garbage. read more
