Whitchurch (known in timetables as "Whitchurch (Hants)") is the railway station serving the Hampshire town of Whitchurch. It is on the line from London Waterloo to Exeter via Salisbury.
Situated north of the town, it opened in 1854 for services to Andover; the line to Salisbury was completed in 1857. It still retains its attractive Victorian buildings on each platform, but is now unstaffed. Tickets can be purchased from machines at the entrance. Information on train times is available on the national rail website.
The station is served by the hourly London to Salisbury service, with the last departure from London Waterloo on weekdays being 23:40. The peak hour service is augmented to half-hourly.
The station has a small car park, and limited storage for bicycles. There is level access to platform 2, in the Salisbury direction, but platform one (towards Basingstoke and London) can only be accessed via the footbridge. read more
