Kyleigh is great. Erika is great. The chef is even better than great. And the cooks. Great. Bartender is great. If you're up 410 COME HERE! Stay here. Shop here. Great gifts (and I bet you didn't think I could use the word "great" one more time.)

Had the BEST time this weekend at Whistlin Jack's campsite. I had a hard time finding a camping reservation in the National park, so this was a perfect alternative. Booked 2 campsites for my group of 8 and it was the perfect space on the River with lots of space, including a fire pit and picnic table. It was secluded but also with the convenience of being next door to a little shop, bar, and restaurant (with great food). The location was also perfect - we did a nearby hike at Naches Loop and hug out at Bumping Lake. The staff at Whistlin Jack's was so friendly. I would come back and highly recommend!

Sit down. Listen. Please. Especially if you are the new owners. Arrived (been there a few times), no front desk staff in sight, 7min wait for her to appear. We believe she was turning on the BASEBOARD heat in our room. Got the keys, entered, used restroom, killed a spider, went to Living room, killed spider #2. Went to check the lounge & find some heat. Ordered a drink, but never received it as they DONT HAVE THEIR LIQUOR LICENSE. Either does the mini mart attached to the lodge. I don't have a problem with that. I have a problem that they didn't mention this when I booked the room (tried to book online, not working yet, have to call.) The "waitress's" quick response "go down to Gold Creek." Ugh! So, now I'm frustrated by the fact that you are encouraging drunk driving?!! Come on whistlin jacks. The room was no where near the price of $149. No tv, no WiFi, which I knew, but the heat, the staff, the lack of cleaning, the only thing I liked was the hot tub. Save your money! When went the Gold Creek, the have rooms, STAY THERE!

A few of the performers in the fly ballet. They wouldn't even touch most of the food.

The food was a lone bar called vans (dated but friendly and decent food) and a lone hotel. The woman answered the bell and agreed to show me her rooms and told me the price. 86 bucks later we found ourselves in a dated but clean and nice smelling room. Comfortable beds with good quality bedding were a nice surprise and we were tired so we went to sleep. In the morning we made some hotel provided coffee (very good) and enjoyed it at a cafe style table with real coffee cups and cloth napkins silverware. The towels were fluffy and heavy and the complimentary soaps and shampoos were great. For the money the amenities here far surpassed any I have experienced in hotels at twice the price. Great little find we highly recommend it.

The person on the phone was helpful and laid back. This is definitely not a chain hotel nor is it a foofy B&B. The decor in the New Orleans room was meh. I asked the owner if there was wi-fi internet service and was told that internet was available in a specific area, but no wi-fi. FYI, I use TMobile=No Phone Service=No Edge. Pros - Near the "Y" at interstates 410 and 12, pretty good prices, mellow atmosphere. (YMMV) Cons - No cell phone service (for me), a couple of strange greasy stains on a couple of the pillow cases! yuck. One of the pillows smelled like cologne (unwashed?) Anyway, my experience with the Natchez Hotel is LIMITED, but I don't need much when i'm just staying for a quick "over-night". I just needed a place to sleep, and I would crash here again if it came down to it. I'll give it three stars because it borders between 2-3 stars.

However, the main campground is much more wooded and pleasant (though the sites are still very close to each other.) I'd give it a 4 if we had stayed there. Pros: electricity, water and sewer were available at the site. The camp also has a pool (closed during these covid times), a small store, a restaurant, and it also looked like they sell propane on site though we didn't buy any. The park is in reasonable proximity to both Bumping Lake and Chinook Pass to the west and Naches and Yakima to the east. Cons: as I said, small sites and the overflow area was quite ugly. Also the men's bathroom is secured with a sliding chain safety lock which allows the door to open a bit before it engages. This allows someone outside to see you sitting in the throne when someone else tries to open the door. I don't know if the women's bathroom is the same way, but whoever thought that kind of lock was appropriate for a bathroom with no stalls or other privacy screens needs to try it once or twice and see how it feels. The price seemed pretty standard for RV parks with full hookups.

Parking is a bit of a hassle and we ended up paying the $10 for hotel, parking in a lot around the corner. It was worth it as we could walk to restaurants within blocks of the hotel. As for the room itself, it was moderately sized but we had room for all our gear without tripping over anything. The king sized bed was comfortable with 5 pillows provided (the norm seems to be 4 nowadays). The room was very quiet but the bathroom has a sliding barn door which unfortunately doesn't muffle bathroom noises which should be private. Decor is soothing warm neutrals with a small sofa and a desk chair provided for seating. There is a small frig but no microwave. Keurig is provided for in room coffee but I would recommend going down to the lobby where fresh brewed coffee seems to be provided. 22/7. We did not check out the rooftop garden due to the weather. Would've enjoyed a drink in the cozy bar adjacent to the lobby but it doesn't seem to be open yet. I would definitely stay here again should I have the need to overnight in Ellensburg.

So last week, on my way to Seattle I decided to stay the night in beautiful Ellensburg, WA (home to Central Washington University). Since it was just for a couple nights, I decided to get something downtown so I could walk around. I found Hotel Windrow online, booked the room and what a fantastic surprise. This boutique hotel is indeed RIGHT downtown. It's stylish, easy to find, obviously in a great location, and the property includes a hip little lobby bar a space called 'Top of the Berg' which is a rooftop area with fire pits, etc. very cosmopolitan. The rooms were lovely, very homey with a small couch, desk, large bathroom and comfortable bed. I walked two blocks to a fantastic Italian meal (more about that in another review) and overall, had a truly fantastic and easy night. A couple amenities to highlight include ample parking and electric charging spaces for electric cars or hybrids. I love finds like this, and plan on making at least one night stay over a regular occurrence now if I'm traveling on I-90. Recommended.

My wife walked down to the site and saw it was really unlevel, and the back 15 feet just fell off. Gravel was dumped but not spread out, with no attention paid to where it went. The trees were so tight on every side of it, and at the site, there is just no way of either getting to it or getting into it with any safety. When we showed the pictures to the teenage girls running the office/store/restaurant, they said there were pictures of the site online, and we should have seen the way it was. There is one picture, and it's from a low level, looking back at a lake that was full years ago. Tried to explain that we could NOT get there safely, they said no refunds, and there are no other sites. We never PICKED that site; it was assigned by a manager months earlier when we made the reservation and explained what we had for a trailer. This was Labor Day weekend. We had to leave and try to find a different place at a moment's notice. No refund period at this place. Stay away. Unless you want a forest floor drive, Tree roots and all, and rude customer service.
