This place is really cool. You can self pour any of their multitude of beers, hell, mix them if you want. I made myself a nice Black and Tan. I tried a lot of different stuff and had a blast. It's a wonderful idea and if I'm waiting for a beer, well, that's 100% on me. If I remember correctly you can pour up to 96oz which is beyond fair and reasonable for a self pour establishment. I wish they did have more substantial food but that is a business decision that really doesn't change how I view the establishment. Shout out to Robert Y.; I have a couple of thoughts for you: (1) Apply for a credit card or bank check card (they probably accept the latter as well). (2) The price per ounce is so variable that someone could over pour an expensive beer and then claim they don't have enough cash; the business would likely be unable to collect payment. (3) A few/some/most/a lot/everyone I know over age 21 has some form of card offering electronic payment. So, I don't think they are losing many clients acting within their current business model. read more

Went on a Tuesday and it was pretty quiet with only a few other people in the bar. My wife and I sampled 6-8 beers and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Neither of us are avid beer drinkers which is what made the experience so great because we could try something out and pay by the ounce. They had a nice selection of different types and brands. Some were better than others, but they're sure to have something you like including wine and cider. read more

Just tried to have a drink at this place. You CANNOT pay cash to get a card for the beer. What company in its right mind doesn't take cash? Oh, I know...one who wants to eliminate a large proportion of the purchasing public. Now, this may be legal, but as a business owner I don't understand the thought process behind taking this tack. Super fun time! Unique setup, pour your own beer from a wall full of them. I think 40+ options, couple wines too. Been a couple times. Went on a Sunday afternoon with a board game, brought a pizza and sipped great beers. Also went a couple evenings, fun atmosphere, live music at times. You can bring food, get it delivered, or order from a small menu of things split between premade small plates from a cooler they have, or from another restaurant they partner with. read more

The guy working the counter spent a lot of time with us, not only explaining the concept and showing is how the taps work, but also sitting down with us to chat while we enjoyed our selections from the 40 taps available. Came in tonight on my birthday. John was working and he was great! So friendly, answered all of our questions, we came in a bit later and he did not rush us. We had such a great time and chatted with John a bit. There are so many bars out there but the set up was special, and so was the service. Very cool concept and user friendly tap system. Great place for craft beer enthusiasts or people interested in trying something new. You only pay for the ounces you pour and not for a full glass each time. That makes it really nice for sampling a beer that may be out of your comfort zone and trying new varieties. The last time I went it was quite busy and it's a pretty long and narrow bar which can make it feel a little crammed but if you're able to get a table it's a great place to get out and enjoy. Take a minute to read the proper way to pour a beer. You'll be grateful you did so you're enjoying beer and not just paying for foam. They had many stout and IPA selections last time I was there. Not sure if it's just because of the season but I would have liked to see more variety maybe some Hefeweizen / lager / sour styles. They also had a few wines on tap which is very cool but I did not try any of the wines. I would also love to see them offer some hot plates even just appetizers or deli sandwiches in the future so you can. I would have stayed longer if I could eat and drink at the same place. Ok the place opened this past weekend. I am writing about the operation. I came here to try a unique method of service. You first start by having your card swipes and your ID. You are given a wrist band. This wristband is adjustable and comfortable. Clean.? My first time I was given instructions on how to get a glass of beer or wine. Choose your glass. Quick wash. Chose beer or wine. Price is by ounce. Hold wristband to display of drink you want. Green light and pour. Pour what you want and can do half-n-half. You get a read out of how much you poured and a running pour ounce total. There are small snacks available with menu on table. It is not a large place but it is a very nice place. There are over 30 beers with most being micro beers and ciders. Currently 4 wines. Staple Bud Light and PBR is also on tap currently. I suggest coming with friend but I can see people sharing tables. I hear the beers will rotate and also they will have some staples. So no bartender but you have a limit of 96oz you can pour. At that point, you would need to check with employees. Buying a round will change lol. There is excitement and interaction with the owners. It is a unique place in downtown Y'town. It is essential a beer cafe. WiFi is coming. Please bus your glass. Fun night in downtown Youngstown. After a great dinner we walked around and checked out a few bars and restaurants. A must do is this great place. It was so fun to get to try different beers.
