They chapel was separate from the reception area. Very comfortable. The backdrop for the ceremony was sweet. After the ceremony, the guests walked over to the reception area on a nice paved walkway. The back lawn had turf instead of real grass so walking around that area was easy. We went into the building for cocktails and appetizers. Here's where I had issues. If you are not going to let guests sit down at the dinner tables, for whatever reason, provide seating elsewhere. There was no seating available in the cocktail area or outside. Have some conversation areas. Have a couple of fire pits for February weddings and events. Weddings have elderly guests. Elderly guests need to sit. One bar. When you have 150 people for a wedding, provide more than one bar. Standing in line is not a pleasant experience. Especially when after you get your drink and appetizer, there is nowhere to sit for an hour or so. Now back to the good. The food. I saw one of the servers had Patriot Pig on her shirt so I'm assuming that is where the BBQ came from. It was The Best wedding food we've experienced. The brisket was moist and fabulous. I asked the server in the buffet line for a piece with some fat and he didn't look at me like I was crazy. The green beans were flavorful. Mac and cheese was homemade as were the mashed potatoes. Desserts, little banana puddings, 5 stars. Little apple pies, 1 star, not done at all. I'm not sure where the naked wedding cake came from but it was delicious! The DJ kept things moving but like always in these large barn style venues, the sound was terrible. The staff was all very kind and helpful. The bartenders remained professional even with a constant line all night. Overall a lovely venue with just a couple of misses. Sorry, not many photos.

From a guest perspective its an absolutely stunning backdrop for a romantic and elegant wedding and also provides great space and accommodations for when the party really starts rocking. As a vendor this venue flows so naturally and allows space for all vendors to have their own operating area out of the way of guests and viewing area. The venue is a family owned and operated business and they are so involved and invested in their brides and guests - you simply can't ask for better service! This venue is stunning and any bride or guest lucky enough to get married or attend a wedding at this venue should count their blessings!

I toured the place and learned of it's history, which is pretty interesting. The place was built during the Great Depression as part of the National Youth Administration. Over 300 TWU students participated in its building and creation, even making the stained glass windows that adorn this architectural piece. It was named one of Texas' most outstanding architectural achievements. Ironically it was even designed by a Denton resident who is also a nationally recognized architect, O'Neil Ford. The little pond seen in their ad, actually has a layer of scum on it. I saw a fish laying on top of the scum flopping and soon after died. probably because it couldn't get enough oxygen. the alpacas there were in a very run down pen area. there is a long 6 ft ta wooden wall in the pen area that leaning badly . it is ready to fall and is propped up with steel t post used for farm fences. They have a livestock guardian dog in the pen with the alpa's pen that does not look healthy. the entrance to the place has a dilapidated sign that is ready to fall dow. they give you a code for the entry gate. Probably because they don't want to ever meet any of their guest. They also give a code to the cabin. again so they don't have to meet you , they just want your money. The cabin was not bad, but the AC didn't work well. There were bugs in the grassy area and I was bitten many times. Run, don't walk. away as fast as you can . Their nice looking ad makes it look like a wonder place to stay. Believe me. It is not.

It was extremely packed with people on a Friday at 10 AM. Everyone was really courteous. (Lots of bumping into one another). What impressed me more than anything else; People were actually kind to one another. Wow! Lots of people using walkers and wagons. How they walked/tackled the uneven dirt was impressive. Kudos to y'all. Only a few "people traffic jams". Just have to learn to navigate those! It's free parking and approximately 12$ per person entrance fee. Lots of staff to help with parking. Shout out to Joe Cuellar once again for providing fantastic music! Take a photo at the entrance as proof you already paid. This way you can walk your purchases back to your car! Plus with a picture you can return all weekend for this event! That's a win in my book. Multiple food vendors! And like anywhere, never enough restrooms. I pre-purchased my tickets months in advance. I will tell you this venue will over-kill you with emails and texts. They sell their tickets for the event through Huminex. It's too much. Specially, if you already bought your tickets. Multiple sellers, my understanding is that it is difficult to get into this show as a seller. I certainly miss when some of my favorites are not here. I miss the soaps, balsamic vinegar, crafters, and true vintage sellers. Please bring cash to these events. It runs smoother when you do! Some will even give discounts for cash sales.
