Thank local artwork, hand blown glass pieces, jewelry, home decor, and a bunch of quirky things you didn't know you needed until you see them. The store feels a bit like a small art gallery mixed with a gift shop. There are beautiful paintings on the walls, colorful glass pieces hanging from the ceiling. (See pics, the jellyfish was absolutely STUNNING) Somebody please buy this for Cody!!! I went in thinking I'll just take a quick look, then suddenly I had spent twenty minutes wandering around noticing new things on every shelf. If you're visiting Bainbridge, or even a local you must definitely stop in. It's a great spot to find something unique and a good reminder of how creative the local artist community is on Bainbridge! Island Life Artisan Gifts seemed like the right place for this, a Bainbridge Island-themed gift shop near the start of the main stretch of Winslow Way. I let our five-year-old pick from a robust selection of magnets, and he picked an attractive one, featuring the island, the ferry, and a couple of orcas. I also picked up a cute "Ferry Christmas" ornament. Both items were of solid quality. The gift shop sold clothes and plenty of other island-themed gear. A lot of pickleball stuff--I guess that's somehow part of the Bainbridge Island identity. I was happy with our purchases and would recommend Island Life Artisan Gifts if you want to take home a little souvenir.

Like a mini-Etsy on Bainbridge Island!…read more I was showing some out-of-town guests around because they wanted to ride the ferry, and expected to see the usual assortment of overpriced and cutesy gift shoppes. Indie Banditas is tucked away from the street, but it's worth hunting down. The shop is small, but crammed full of jewelry, bags, beauty products, handmade art, and other trinkets. And, impressively, everything is handcrafted by locals, so you're not just taking home any old souvenir. Everything is pretty affordable, and there are plenty of small treasures for under $10 - I got a solid lemongrass-ginger perfume and a lavender-vanilla lip balm for $3 each. The owner is super-friendly and chatty and loves to talk about her wares and the store. Customers are encouraged to sign the cement floor with a Sharpie marker, and many people already have. If you're on Bainbridge for the day, this is a must-see little boutique that will impress even your fanciest big-city visitors.
