What I was really impressed with was the value of these dishes. We had 2 haddock, one large chips, large mushy peas and a buttered barm for £11 - not bad at all! It took a couple of attempts to get our waiter to comprehend I wanted to order something that wasn't on the menu but to give him his dues once he did he was happy to do it and brought me back a lovely tall and icey Americano. If Java was in Manchester I probably wouldn't frequent it often as it's not really my type of place, just a little bit too middle of the road in style for me but undoubtedly suits Lytham and the older middle class visitors that this pretty town generally receives. Personally I usually take off all the fish batter as its usually greasy and horrible. But this fish was cooked in front of me and the batter was light, crisp and not at all greasy- I ate the lot.
