The $5.50 meal deal order includes cod fish, chips, mushy peas, and coffee or tea. A side order of homemade tartar sauce is about 50 p. The cod fish was fresh, crispy but not oily, and big portion. The bill was cheap & they have special offers for people with small appetite. The only criticism was that the glass might not have been cleaned properly as my coke tasted salty after I poured a can of coke into the glass.

The seafarer is a great little fish and chips shop/restaurant close to the beach front on St Annes…read more Basically there's the more formal sit in restaurant where everything is more expensive and it's more the blue rinse brigade, then on the other side there's a pretty cool takeaway shop with outdoors seating (you'll have to be quick though - more blue rinsers and families jumping into the seats on peoples laps while people are still sat at them) We got takeaway because quite frankly why not live the dream and eat on the beach (5 mins walk away) and because we're so hardcore that why not the run of risk of getting some sand in your mushy peas! What I was really impressed with was the value of these dishes. We had 2 haddock, one large chips, large mushy peas and a buttered barm for £11 - not bad at all! Like everything in life though they get you on the extras - 20p a sachet for ketchup and 5p for a large fork - daylight robbery ;-) A great day out at the seaside and a really enjoyable fish and chips meal!

Nothing massively great or poor about this place really, seemed fairly reasonably priced and a lovely place to take a load off. We did though think some of the staff were a little strange (quite a few customers seemed to think this too judging by their faces) and possibly had had a heavy night the night before (not really there...) It took a couple of attempts to get our waiter to comprehend I wanted to order something that wasn't on the menu but to give him his dues once he did he was happy to do it and brought me back a lovely tall and icey Americano. If Java was in Manchester I probably wouldn't frequent it often as it's not really my type of place, just a little bit too middle of the road in style for me but undoubtedly suits Lytham and the older middle class visitors that this pretty town generally receives. Personally I usually take off all the fish batter as its usually greasy and horrible. But this fish was cooked in front of me and the batter was light, crisp and not at all greasy- I ate the lot.
