The buses run through Livermore, Pleasanton, and Dublin. The fare is $2. It used to be $1.50. You can get to most parts of Livermore by bus if you don't mind walking. When I need to get somewhere and don't have access to a car, I use the Wheels Buses. You have to ask for a transfer pass at the beginning of the bus. It gets you onto another bus for free. If you ask at the end, the driver can apparently refuse to give you one (at least, that's what one of them told me). I think Cal Train also has an agreement with Wheels, too. I wish the buses were cheaper and that the Tri-Valley's public transportation were more efficient. When they hiked up the fee, fewer people took the buses, and you would often see these buses that were completely empty going by. So then they hiked up the fee again -- and it becomes a vicious cycle of fail. If the buses were more efficient and ran more often, with a cheaper fee, I think more people would use the buses. Davis probably has one of the best public transportation set-ups I've seen in a town. Livermore could definitely take a page out of their book.

I use the station quite often because I try to save my family time and inconvenience from driving me to or picking me up from Oakland airport. Also handy to use if I want to go to the city (San Francisco) from this area as well. Luckily, I haven't had to use it to do the daily work commute, which I heard is pretty hectic and brutal in terms of crowds. But my personal experiences this is always been pretty easy to figure out. This location is pretty centrally located to San Ramon, Pleasanton, and of course, Dublin.

The garage is a garage, and is $3 a day, less chance of your car getting broke into here which is nice. Trains don't come as often, but it's a convenient way to roll to SF without driving.

Despite me having lost my initial deposit with the first company, I actually saved money by booking with ambassador limo. They don't force you to book vehicles for a certain amount of hours when you need just a to and from transport. We got the stretch limo for the groom+groomsman and a sprinter van with for me and my bridesmaids. Definitely recommend them to anybody looking for a transportation service for their wedding!

I noticed there was a security person walking around the Livermore station which was unexpected and nice. I paid $10.25 for one way. I elected to ride in a car with lights on so I could stay awake and enjoy the scenery. There were several people using the tables to work on their laptops. You can sit in a section with 4 seats facing each other and a table in between or 2 seats together with no table. They do have the cars at the rear with lights off in case you want to sleep. It appeared to be about 80% full in my car and a lot of folks got off in Santa Clara to hop on the various buses to get to work. A great experience overall!

The coliseum is an actual stop and Bart will save you time and money especially now that the parking at the coliseum is up to $30. The trains ride smooth and it's nice to have a view rather than being stuck behind the wheel of your car fighting with traffic. Plus Bart makes it from Dublin/Pleasanton to the coliseum in roughly 25 minutes. You will not be able to do that in a car. Parking at Bart is free on weekends and apparently on weekdays after 3pm. Tickets for our group, myself and my two kids came out to roughly $17.00. You can barely beat that in gas if you were to drive yourself. I enjoyed talking Bart and I know my kids were thrilled to ride a "train." I recommend Bart to anyone heading to the A's or further down the line.

Why am I going on about Dublin/Pleasanton in a review of the Dublin/Pleasanton-Daly City Line? Well, because I can. And unless the BART station does somehow straddle the border between the two cities, it's stupid that it's got a slashed name to begin with. It's probably either in Dublin or Pleasanton. The line itself is OK. I've never ridden it farther than Bay Fair, so I can't really contrast it with the Fremont-Daly City Line. It's gotten me (most of the way) to Oakland International Airport and back on many occasions. Hm, what else to say? I think I'm excited about the new West Dublin station, although it will also ridiculously be called the West Dublin/Pleasanton Station. The phone is usually answered by a mild-mannered lady, but this time it was answered by an arrogant guy who started yelling at me for calling them again. When I threatened to cancel my booking if he didn't calm down, he simply hung up, cancelled by booking and sent me a text message. I was left high and dry with only a few hours before my flight. Luckily there are many in the area who are looking for business and are willing to accommodate last minute bookings.
