They served various soups and ice creams, an odd combo, but it works! We got their clam chowder, and there is an extra cost to add more seafood, but honestly, the amount of clams they put in the chowder was so much that I felt like I did not miss out on the extra seafood, despite being a seafood lover. The chowder was really good, and I would buy it again. However, they had 3 other soups, and I do want to try the others the next time I'm there. The only caveat is that it took half an hour to get the food, so order early and allow time to walk around. We came back later to get their ice cream, which was also delicious. It was in little take-out containers, which I thought was super cute. Overall, would come back here to try more of their food.

I'm no specialist but when it comes to FnC it seems only few spots know how to get the batter right without drying out the fish. If you're in the Nehalem area you gotta try it.

Not many other options in the area for ice cream, so it'll do for a cold treat if you know what you want, don't need to sit to eat, and then wash your hands.

Doesn't look like much from the outside but very roomie, clean and nice inside. AMAZING service! Wish I had gotten the name of the young man behind the register yesterday that attended us. He was so nice, patient, and helpful! We sat outside in the front patio with our 2 pups enjoying the beautiful weather and got the food brought out to us. We split an oyster melt sandwich, albacore tuna sandwich, and their house made tomato/orange soup. You could tell the oyster and tuna both were very fresh and not canned or frozen nonsense. They said the tuna is sourced locally from Garibaldi area about 1/2 hour south of there. The strawberry lemonade had fresh strawberry in it and was delicious and not overly sweet. We then went for a very long walk on the beach to work it all off and came back few hours later to relax at the outside patio tables again and tried the dirty fries and salmon pita (BOTH DELICIOUS). and a must try too. The food here is different, unique, and not made how you would typically expect or get anywhere else. I thought the tuna sandwich would be boring but actually left me wanting more. We were sad upon return that we didn't get to try their CLAMS because they had run out since it's one of their most popular items, but we will DEFINITELY be returning to this place, and hope to be able to try their dinner menu sometime. Not so long ago you would walk into a Resturant, a local business, a shop of any kind and employees were happy to see you and grateful for your business. With a few exceptions this feeling is dying in most businesses. The ownership has empowered employees with zero skin in the game to be the speaking agents for their business. I don't think that the message we get as consumers matches what the ownership would want. When I walked into the Big Wave Cafe tonight I got nothing but attitude from a young lady who acted very overwhelmed with the amount of customers in the Resturant. The place was very busy. Lots of staff standing back in the food prep area. Just standing and talking. I could tell she was stressed. Long story short I was made to feel as if I was a burden and unwelcome. I was prepared to spend 50.00 on a steak and another togo meal for my wife. Nothing but attitude from this young lady. I simply got up and walked out.
