I can't believe that I haven't written a review about Wheel Xperts before now. I have had 2 cars wrapped by them, so consider this a belated review or a '4 years later' review at least for one of the cars! I first came across Wheel Xperts back in 2018 as part of a group buy wrap deal that Alex set up when the Tesla model 3 was really first getting out there. I finally took delivery of my blue performance model three and 4 days later I had it in Alex's shop getting a stealth PPF installed. Well it's now 4 years later and I'm just as happy as the day I took it home! It's kept the car protected and looking great without a scratch on it all this time. I still look at my car and love the way it looks with the stealth PPF. The photo I attached was taken this past spring, three and a half years after being installed. So naturally when I get a new truck to replace my old off-road overlanding truck, the first thing I do (with 45 miles on the clock) is take it to Wheel Xperts for a paint protection film! This truck sees a lot of trails, and as such it pushes through a lot of brush. Alex recommends this new, thicker PPF that's designed to take some abuse. I can completely confirm that it takes that abuse well! It's taken dirt, mud, rocks, pushes through tree branches, and generally gets abuse that left my last truck pinstriped up and back again. Now, a year and a half and 12,000 miles of trails (it's not a daily driver and doesn't see many parking lots) later, it still looks like the day I drove it off the lot. I may lose my off-road cred with anyone who sees my truck on the street and think it doesn't leave the pavement, but it's saved me from countless scratches and the rust that goes along with it. Alex's prices are great, and his service is excellent. Take it from a repeat customer; I wholeheartedly recommend Wheel Xperts if you're looking for a wrap or paint protection film. There was an even an issue with a part of the truck's wrap where some bubbles weren't going away as they should, and he took it in and had that panel replaced without hesitation to make sure that I was happy with the results. When I arrive with the first car, Alex went through what he was going to do to prep the car (although it is new) and what will be covered with the package I chose (full front wrap). He also recommended Ceramic Pro paint protection for the rest of the car. For the full protection, he quoted me a price that was less than what the dealer wanted for just !/2 front protection! However, this would take two full days and it would required a return visit after 2 weeks to wash the car and check on the Ceramic Pro curing process. The car was ready as promised. It has now been four months since the protection (I wanted to wait to write this review) was applied and I can tell you, the car looks better than the day we picked her up from the dealership. My top criteria for searching for a tint/paint protection film (ppf)/ceramic shop was the following: - Experience with Tesla's and Model 3's - Quality work and products - The convenience of being able to install all products at once (tint/ppf/ceramic) - Price - Service I'm happy to report that Wheel Xperts can fulfill all of the above. I came across them while doing research for my new Model 3 Performance in the Tesla Owners Forum. One forum poster stated this shop was reasonably priced and I found out it's not too far from me. I called them up and Alex proceeded to explain the options very patiently, even while they're usually busy. After I finalized my options for a quote, I'd have to agree with the forum poster, it was a solid offer and Alex's willing to work with you. I really like that they have exhaustive experience with Tesla's and Model 3's in general -- these cars are a bit different than other cars and experience really sets a shop apart. For example, not all shops are able to tint the large rear model 3 window in one-piece, but these guys do it all the time. They also carry quality products: they used Xpel ceramic on the tint, Xpel on the PPF, and Ceramic Pro for the coating. I even learned they offered the ability to clean install my wiring for my radar detector to look factory; they can do the same for dash cams and even use the proper 12V switch (which is needed to turn off accessories in a Tesla). The service has been phenomenal and they are willing to work with you until you're happy. Tesla's a newer company and it's been known to not always have the manufacturing quality of an established manufacturer. After taking my car back for inspection, we saw a bubble/crease in my rear window tint that couldn't be removed. After removing the tint itself, we discovered there was a small defect in the glass itself from Tesla, which caused the issue. They offered to re-tint and re-apply my ceramic coating once I get my window replaced. All around, a highly recommended shop that can do it all! read more

My friend referred me to Wheel Xperts. I visited their website and connected with Alejandro. I didn't know much about window tinting and even less about clear bras before this so I was very grateful for Alejandro's patience in answering my questions. He offered me a very reasonable quote to tint and wrap my new Model 3 so I decided to give him a try. He even threw in front window tinting which was not part of his original quote at no extra charge! When the day came to drop off my car, there was a freak power outage to the entire building where he is located affecting not only his shop but all the businesses in the building as well. I wasn't going to be able to arrange a ride to my work for another few weeks but to my surprise, Alejandro offered to Uber me on his own dime so that I can drop off the car sooner. How awesome is that! So the final work done on my car was 35% front windows, 20% rear windows and 35% complete rear windshield (one piece) with Xpel Prime Plus ceramic window tint. I also had Xpel Ultimate Plus wrapped over my front bumper and headlights. I originally wanted my rear windows and rear windshield both tinted dark at 20% but Alejandro advised to go lighter on the rear windshield because some Model 3 owner's windshield cracked from what he and a few other installers believe is due to the excess heat absorbed by the darker tint. I couldn't find any concrete evidence of this online but I figured why take the unnecessary risk. I was seriously nervous about how the car would look with the tint going from light to dark to light but Alejandro assured me that I would barely notice that the rear windshield was tinted lighter. When I finally picked up my car, I was blown away by how awesome it looked. Alejandro was absolutely right! The rear windshield blended in well enough with the darker rear windows that you could barely tell it was actually lighter. The clear bra over my front bumper and headlights looked amazing too. Alejandro even took the time to wrap the film completely around the bumper so that you could not see any edges. Researched a bunch of various ceramic tint brands and Xpel is simply the best out there on the market right now. My main requirement was high IR heat rejection since I drive about 100 miles each day for work and the summers seem to get hotter every year. Got Xpel Prime XR Plus on my Chevy Volt so yes even though Alex's team specializes in Tesla models, my humble Chevy was also fitted with these nice tints. Really made a difference in my commute as it kept the interior cooler than usual and while driving, I am not being blasted by the sun's heat from the left side. Ended up doing 20% on the rear and rear sides; 55% on the driver sides. Yes, I know legal California VLT is 70% but if you are already tinting your windows with Xpel, you might as well take advantage of the large performance jump from 70% to 55%. Xpel tint also is a bit lighter than most other brand tints which makes it easier to see out of. I can see perfectly out of the 20% tint, even in dimly lit environments. There were a few tiny bubbles on the windows when I picked up the car, but Alex instructed not to roll the windows down for 2-3 days and the bubbles eventually did disappear. Everything looks smooth and well cured - just follow instructions. Alex was very professional and responsive with great care to servicing the customer. A year and a half ago I got my Lexus RCF front wrapped with xpel and ceramic pro gold the rest. Also had full window tint as well. The xpel was precut and not custom cut for the bumper. It has been about a year and a half now and things are still looking great. The yearly inspection/sport wash makes the car extra shiny again. (Yearly inspection/sport wash) required to maintain ceramic pro warranty). They take care of any issues I bring up as needed. I came back recently and also had a BMW 530e tinted with ceramic which turned out great as well. The Los Gatos location is a bit nicer as there is no food truck near by. San Jose location lacks parking at peak times and has a food truck that brings lots of customers. However the food truck does have good food if you're waiting. One recommendation is to call if you don't get a response in Yelp as I think they can get super busy. I have always gotten a response via phone. I would definitely use them again for my future car needs. You can't beat the prices for the quality of work. read more

Prior to making decision as to where to get my windows tinted on my new Tesla Model S I contacted Alex. He was very responsive and prices were very reasonable. After a few questions I knew this is where I wanted to go. I showed up for my appointment and he walked me through a few options on my tinting. I went with 3M Crystalline. 20% rears, and 40% fronts. Just like my old car. (Perfect for me, others typically do 40% all around, or 40% rear and 60% front.) The cut of the tint at the top of each window was perfect. Had a full front Xpel clear bra installed. Looks great and came in handy a week after install when a rock hit my car. I was recommended to this shop by two of my friends who did Clear Bra and 3M crystalline tinting on their new Tesla model 3's and myself that I should go with Alejandro and Co for my car's tinting. The shop's hours are 9am to 6pm but they're sometimes in a little before and a little after probably because they're so booked with jobs that they need all the time they can get. As for my tint, I had the side windows and back windshield of my car done. They completed the side windows but called me to tell me they were having an issue doing the back windshield do the long length but they assured me more film is on the way so when it arrives they I can bring the car in so they can finish the work. As for the quality of the work, it looks spot-on and perfect. The cuts are fine with no rough edges. There was a little bit of water between the tint film and the car windows from the application but it went away after a drive home. Overall, I am very happy with the work these guys did for me. I took my GLE AMG 63 for a complete front end Clear Bra, and I ended up having to go back there (From Redwood City to South San Jose) at least 4 times. After I picked up the car and I noticed the edges of the plastic wrap under the hood in front and in the back they were coming off and in some areas the way they tucked the edges back in, it was all wrinkled as well which still is to this day. what that does is that eventually it will come off and you have to take it back in future and have them to repair it. I have done 2 other Vehicles in past by other vendors and when I compared these 2 works together it was obvious these guys don't know what they are doing. Also after I got the car back when I got home, I noticed they did not do my rear bumper and my side mirrors this is after going there 4 times and eventually I gave up and still to this date I have half ass job done on my car. read more

Wheel Xperts is the place to go for protecting your car's exterior. I called and asked for a quote via all the feedback from Yelp. Alejandro was super fast at responding, and was among the best deals in the Bay Area. Alejandro wrapped our 2017 CR-V and Pilot, since we drive quite a distance. He did such an amazing job. Drop off was in the morning, and picked it up the same day before 5pm. The Xpel clear bra is such a great product, and Alejandro and his team are professionals when handling any car. OK, so I'm not the type that usually does Yelp reviews, but Alex deserves this. Hands down great customer service. I had just bought my brand new 2018 M4 and did my 3M Crystalline tint and clear-bra for my entire front including the hood. The quote was already set for everything before I came in. But I mentioned that I was going to add extra front carbon fiber splitters and lip to the front bumper. After the full wrap of the front bumper pre-modified, he offered me to come back in and gave me the option of removing the clear-bra so I can install the aftermarket add-ons and then re-wrap everything again at no extra charge. Although this wasn't necessary since I decided to just put the splitters and lip on top of the plastic wrap so it wouldn't damage the paint. But the whole point is that he offered me that option if I wanted. Even the touch ups I requested a week later he attended to no problem. Will definitely go back again when it's time for me to decide to protect the rest of the car :) read more

My experience with Wheel Xpertz (Alejandro, Story Rd Location) was better than my original expectations. I have a 2018 E-Class Sedan in which I installed the XPEL Clear full bra option in which was done so well I couldn't see the edges even when I looked real hard. I have a friend in Southern California who I picked up at another detailer where he was getting his car done and they said the job on my car was "Top Notch" after I talked and showed them about the work I had done at Wheel Xpertz. I was really lucky to choose Wheel Xpertz as I heard many horror stories about other companies. Alejandro and his team are the real deal. I took my Model 3 in last June, to get PPF on the front, full Xpel tint, and to get my calipers painted. Alejandro hooked it up with a great deal, and was very accommodating with scheduling and communication. After over 6 months, I noticed some very minor areas of dirt getting under the PPF. I called up Alejandro and he got me sorted at no charge. I just recently got my chrome delete done by him as well and can't be happier with the results! This review is long overdue. Dropped off my brand new Porsche (right off the transporter) to have the full front end wrap. Price is very competitive and with all the positive reviews I thought it'll be a no brainer. Car took a few days to finish, and when I picked up the car, it was inside the garage (lack of light). I did some minor inspection and everything looked good and drove off. Next day in better lighting, I noticed quite a few bubbles on the bumper and the pre-cut for the bumper was mis-align (by 1/4"). Scheduled a new appointment with Alex to have it fix. Few days past and I picked up the car. Alex ensured me the wrap is now fixed and done properly. He even mentioned he double checked and did not see any bubbles. Inspecting the bumper myself (in direct sunlight), I noticed quite a few bubbles, Alex promptly fixed that. Upon going home, I inspected the car under not as harsh lighting, I noticed something very disturbing. Exacto knife cut marks on the bumper!!! I was very upset that my brand new bumper was cut into. Alex agreed to pay for the damages, but it took months instead of days and even sent me a bounced check. After 6 months since the car been wrapped, I now noticed how poorly the job was done. On my first pick up, certain areas of the hood looked off and Alex ensure me some wrinkles/waves on the the hood will dissipate in a few days in direct sunlight. Result? Wrinkles still exist and the wrap is either shrinking (I asked other shops and they believe the wrap was stretched out to cover the massive hood) and not wrapped correctly around the edges. Upon close inspection on any edge of the wrap, you can see dirt being trapped. I believe (I could be wrong) 50% of the wraps isn't done by Alex himself, but inexperienced employees of his. You get what you pay for and always read bad reviews to determine if any place is right for you. read more
