This review is long overdue but I've been taking all of my cars here for years. The guys who work the front desk are always friendly and professional. I've never had any doubts or issues regarding service on my car. A majority of the time, Adam (Lead tech?) has worked on my cars (tire service and general maintenance) and has always been honest and upfront about the costs and work he suggests without being pushy like a lot of other auto shops out there. My car needed some new shoes (tires) They had a great deal going, a hundred dollar rebate! I also was able to get a wheel alignment and an oil change and my car's oil is hard to find... and most places don't have it or if they do stock it it's and arm and a leg! So I was relieved and happy to pay!! They unfortunately out of K-cups for coffee and it was quite cold! the staff was very personable and they had their tv on a channel I love! I didn't mind the wait and it didn't take long at all! I will be back for an alignment and an oil change in 5,000 miles! read more

I don't understand how this place could have so many bad reviews. I have been coming here for over 5 years and only had one encounter that was bad customer service...and that guy doesn't even work at this location anymore. I recently called and MADE AN APPOINTMENT for an oil change. Honestly...when you make an appointment it saves alot of time. For the guys who work here..and for you. I had an 8am appointment. Was serviced promptly and out of there at 8:53am. Not bad at all for an oil change and tire rotation. I couldn't believe that while I waited...four people came in wanting to have "their" car problem fixed right then and there. Really people??? Like you honestly want these guys to stop what they are doing, blow off all the APPOINTMENTS and focus on you. (Shaking my head.....NOT!) And...what's even funnier...the potential customers get mad and are rude with whoever is behind the desk. Like ok..that's gonna make them change their mind now. Give attitude and you'll get what you want. Double NOT! Where is the common sense and decency of people. Gone with the dinosaurs I guess. Now that I'm done venting on the lack of sense people have...let me continue with my review. This was my first time dealing with "Jim". Timely, pleasant, friendly..all around good customer service. All the previous times I have been here, I dealt with Roberto and Joe. Both are phenomenal! They go above and beyond with customer service. They have fixed things on my car that needed immediate attention, found the parts I needed at reasonable prices, (way cheaper than what I would have paid at a dealership) given me a heads up on what I should be replacing or fixing on my next visit, etc. I honestly trust these two and know neither of them were trying to pull a fast "sale" on me. I trust them with my car more than anyone else. With those two around, I've always walked away with a smile on my face knowing they are honest people and are keeping me and my family safe while we are on the road. read more

I needed a local shop to swap out tires for me that is reliable since I needed couple set at a time to by swap at a time. I decided to stop by this place since it was relatively close to my place and I was greeted by this nice Asian gentlemen name Adam. He made sure I didn't wait long and was greeted me immediately and ask what I needed. I told him I needed some tires mounted and he got me set up with the advisor. I think he was surprised when I told him I needed 8 set swap. Honestly, I was surprised how fast he did the tires mounting. I think I waited about an hour? He did 8 sets mount and balanced. I had a great event, all the tires were mounted and balanced perfectly. I came to get our suv tires mounted and aligned by Adam. No complaint, I highly recommend requesting for Adam if your getting your car work on. I can confirm tires and alignment is superb and I'm extremely picky with my specification. I'll be checking out some other work next time since Adam told me they do more than just tires and alignment. It's hard to find a trust worthy guy that is friendly and do the job right. Okay, let's keep it real. We all want instant gratification. But this is a tire shop and they can't just drop everything they have scheduled because you have an immediate need. With that in mind, just inform them of what you need done, how long you can wait or just leave your car there if you can. There's some outlet shopping within walking distance, plenty of eating options as well. They are a good group of people that work here and have always taken care of my company car needs. read more

Adam and the team at Wheel Works did a great job finding a noise that was bugging me every time I drove through uneven roads. Adam went above and beyond to try and fix the issue. As he had mentioned, it wasn't an easy fix because its hard to find a noise while driving and not being able to see it. He looked at everything for possibilties of suspension parts that could be making that specific sound. Luckily, he found it by fixing a few small extra things that weren't right done by previous mechanics. Thanks Adam for being so determined in helping me out. read more

According to the police report - the vehicle, with the new tires, was parked across the street from the establishment with the keys left in it. I am a long time customer of Wheel Works (at least 10 years) and most of time I get great service. There are a few less helpful and unmotivated employees but some go over and beyond. One tech that really stands out is Adam, he really is knowledgeable. He gives great detail about my car issues and explains very thoroughly what will be done. He is open to questions and doesn't make you feel dumb for asking them. Overall though, I trust Wheel Works to get the job done more than I trust a dealership and at a better price! read more

I was the very first customer this morning at 7:00 am. I was greeted by a brite eyed and energetic technician Adam Pham who helped me with a screw in my drivers side back tire. After Adam removed my tire he brought it to me to explain that the position of the screw may make it impossible to repair however he would do his best to save the tire. Shortly after that he brought the repaired tire back to me to show me the repair. Adam kindly agreed to also rotate my tires at my last minute request. These guys rock! Made an appt and four tires were held for me. Couple days later, made my way to San Leandro and the service tech and tires were ready for me. Made my way across the street to Starbucks to get some work done. Within the time estimate, got the call that Ru, my Subaru, was ready for me. In addition to the shiny new tires, the tech scrubbed the rims to a gleaming new finish (10-year-old rims). Customer service like that is hard to find these days. Thanks, John and crew! My first visit here was when my TPMS light came on and I was only a few blocks away, stopped by and Jim asked me just to pull up in front of one of the bays and they took care of it without charge! I have also delt with Roberto the past couple of weeks, had work done on two vehicles and they were finished and ON TIME as promised! I feel that there are customers out there just looking to get on the internet to bust somebody's balls! Unfortunately, that's just the way business is done now. I had a good experience here. I needed 2 (not 4) new tires. I had been doing some research for a couple of weeks to pick out the best tires for my purposes at a reasonable price, etc. So I was researching tires AND places to get them. After checking out prices and selection at several places, I settled on Wheel Works. I was able to schedule an appointment online, which was convenient. When I got there today, right on time, Roberto knew exactly who I was and which tires I was getting. They were busy, so it took about an hour and a half (I was getting an oil change in addition to the new tires), but it was OK. The price was exactly what I was quoted online, and they accepted 2 coupons (1 for the tires and 1 for the oil change), and Roberto checked my check engine light code for me upon my request, offered his input into what might have caused it to come on, and reset it for me (and it hasn't turned back on yet...keep your fingers crossed for me!!), without extra charge. That was a nice touch since apparently Autozone no longer scans those codes for you anymore... I was waiting for my car so I watched everything being done, and didn't see anything weird going on. Unless my brand new tires suddenly fall off my car or something, I am going to say this is a perfectly good place to go with very good customer service and very reasonable prices (and check their website for coupons!!). I worked with Adam and he was straight forward and honest with my. I bought 4 new tires (sadly, thinking about how much money I would be spending), but when Adam took a look at my car, he advised that I only needed 2 new tires - saved me a good chunk of money! My tire pressure light was on, so I brought it to my car dealership since I had purchased a service from them. I was told that I had a nail in my front tire that needed to be replaced and that would cost me about $240.00 to replace on tire. In addition to this shock of bad news, I had to wait all day for them to tell me that the replacement tire did not come that day and that I had to come back the next day. I did not come back to the same dealership. Instead, I decided to come to Wheel Works of San Leandro. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot, I was treated right away by the whole staff. I was impressed at how honest, helpful, and efficient the whole staff was, especially Adam D. Pham. He looked at my car and knew exactly which tire needed attention and showed me the location of the nail and confirmed that it can be repaired. I watched him as he repaired my car and was impressed with his skills. He was able to multi-tasks and methodically utilize his time and calculate which tasks required priority and attention, using every minute of his time productively. He explained the problem to me and brought me the defected tire to the waiting room to show me the location of the nail and he confirmed that the tire can be repaired. To me that is pure honesty in his work and his integrity, which shows excellent customer service. This is the most positive, honest experience I ever had experience dealing with my car. On their website, I saw 4 tires on sale that I decided to buy for my car. When I got to their shop, I was expecting them to try to upsell me some more expensive tires, or let me know some other repair that my car "needed." To my surprise, none of that happened. They took my car in, confirmed they had the tires in stock, and called me back sooner than expected that the car was ready. The shop was very busy that day, and I was very surprised they were done so quickly. Great job guys! read more

Went in on Sunday to ask for a battery performance test. I pulled up and nobody seem to bother I was there, I parked and went inside. They did the battery test and the results indicated that my battery was due to fail soon (which explained the lag when I tried to start my car and my steering wheel taking a while to unlock). They didn't have the battery in stock but said they could order it and I could come in the next day, Monday. I said I couldn't because of work but I could come in on Wednesday and they took down my information. Wednesday comes and I call ahead of time to let them know that I'm not sure if I'd be able to make it by 1pm like we had agreed but that I could come in later that day or Thursday. They say no problem. I show up on Wednesday after 4pm, having to leave work early. They process my info and I'm sitting in the lobby when Kenny comes to tell me that he forgot to tell them to hold the battery and since he wasn't there yesterday, they sold it. When I'm telling them that my car is slow to start, that my steering wheel takes a while to unlock, and we schedule an appointment AND I call ahead of time on the day of my appointment to let them know I'm coming for a battery replacement, I would imagine that they would be able deliver on what they promise or save me the trip by letting me know they don't have it before I show up. It was such a waste of time to drive over there, take time off work, for them not to deliver on what they promised, needless to say the urgency of the situation given that my battery could've failed soon. I called another body shop nearby and got the battery replaced the next day for a lower price. I do not recommend this place at all. read more

I have been to too many tire shops in my lifetime. The Wheel Works in San Leandro on Marina Blvd near 880 has the best staff and service. Please note that they do in fact price match and check out their online coupons. On my previous visit I had them check a leak in my tire. Being that it was on the edge, they could not patch it. When Jon told me what the problem was, my only alternative was to buy another tire or a new set. I offered to pay for the inspection and he said that wouldn't be necessary. Well here I am back buying a complete new set of tires at a price matched no haggle price. read more

Got a nail on my tire. The register guy took my tire in to the shop and the big fat guy said he's not able to fix it bcz they don't have small patch and drop my tire on the floor. They told me to go to San Lorenzo location. I drove there and they told me they can't fix it. I went to both of their locations and I just felt they are a big company but they have all the lazy workers. At the end I went to tire pro at hayward. Fast, easy and good service. After doing research for tires for my Honda, I made an online appointment for Wheel Works to have 4 Yokohama tires installed. The website did not indicate they were not in stock. Showed up on time the next day, and was told they could not call me because I didn't list my area code on the telephone number on the appointment. I'm less than 10 miles from the shop, same area code...they can't try the number without the area code???....it wasn't asked for on the online appointment site. They did ask for my e-mail address...but they didn't attempt to notify me there either. Well...what else can't they do? Had the alignment looked at by another Wheel Works. They said the only reason to go back to that location is to have a "long talk with the manager." The tie-rods mentioned were frozen, but the ones that were not were moved way, way out of spec. Front tow was 1.25". The other location was able to get the alignment fixed, for free, since I had a lifetime alignment. These guys sent my wife home with a car that was simply dangerous to drive. read more

Will not work with disabled. I drive a wheelchair modified van, I am a quadriplegic driver. The manager was very nice about telling me he couldn't accommodate my wheelchair van because there was no seat and I had hand controls. It's not the managers fault it's a company thing. If you are disabled go some where else. read more

After searching online and calling some repair shops, I eventually decided to come to this store to replace my car's tires. As a matter of facts, I got not only the good QUALITY TIRES but also the BEST PRICE in the area. I saved about $50 - $100 compared to others, including the repair shop I used to come to have the same service before. Well, the other good part I like is that the tires are still perfectly shining after two days ! Comparing to the quote I printed online and the actual cost I paid, it is around $7 difference. Can't believe it! So, guys...who want to change your tires with the service from a known corporate in the tire industry, and...of course, BEST PRICE, just do the same as me: Get the quote online, print it and bring it to your appointment.
