Really solid experience at Big O Tires. I called in looking for tires for my Ford F-150 and found out they didn't have the exact ones I needed in stock. Instead of turning me away, they worked it out and were able to get the tires in the same day. Once the tires arrived, they got me in quickly and had everything installed without a long wait. The staff was friendly, helpful, and kept me updated the whole time. You can tell they actually care about taking care of their customers. I've been to big o tires twice, once a couple years ago to fix a hole in my tire and just recently to change out all 4 tires. It's been so easy every time. I set an appointment online which made it easy. Samantha (I think that's her name) helped me at the counter and she was so helpful! They only had 3 tires in their stock at the time but she made a few calls to a few nearby stores and got the 4th one. They have a relatively comfy waiting room if you decide to hang out. I dropped off at around 130pm and I got a call around 430pm that my car was ready. Tires came out great and they over free tire rotations and such. Happy with their service! read more

Went in over a week ago for a tire rotation and oil change... today 5/4/26, my check oil engine light came on... was able to make it to work, checked my oil stick, 3x's, no oil.. NO OIL!! Called them and told them about it, said they have camera's and would check to see what happened and to come in... Mind you, there was no oil leak in my driveway where I park... when I arrived after work, manager was already gone, guy at counter said, yeah, the manager said you were coming in, were just going to do the whole oil change for you, I also requested to make sure there was a new oil filter. Tell me why this guy tells me when my car is done that he says, there was oil already in there, but they did the whole thing anyways.. I actually told him, do you expect me to swallow that story when I personally checked myself, 3x's and there was absolutely NO OIL, it obviously now has oil in it... and I asked him if there was a new oil filter, supposedly there is.. then he said, I'll go out there and we'll check it together that you have oil in your car... what happened next was so uncalled for and SO SEXIST that I'm still astonished by this, he ask to see how I check the oil!! Like REALLY!?!? Like, a woman doesn't know how, even after telling your STUPID ASS 2 times that I've check the stick 3x's!!! Meantime, during this whole interaction, he couldn't even look at me, everywhere else but directly at me. Is this how you treat your customers, like we are idiots who don't know shit! I have been going to this location for oil changes for many years. They currently have very good oil change specials. I went specifically for an oil change. They were not very busy when I arrived. After waiting about 90 minutes I was told my car was ready. Before paying, I was given an extensive list of recommended services, including brakes, struts, shocks, air filters, wheel alignment etc. I was told photos were sent to me showing the areas they looked at. The recommended services totalled over $2,300. I appreciate being notified of areas that may need service. However, until paying, they did not mention anything to me and my car was now parked outside. Some of the service could have been performed as the car was being inspected and photographed. I guess they did not think I would agree to any other work or did not need my business. Another long wait surely would result from more service. After leaving, I realized I was given several pages of work estimates, but nothing showing what I actually paid for the oil change. read more

Came into this location yesterday at around 1:30pm because I was suspecting a leak in one of my tires. I asked John to see if he can inspect the tire for a leak, and if there is one, patch it, and if it can't be patched then I will drive the car back home and think of a way to show up to my 4pm meeting. John spent a few minutes to check out the tire and he directed me into the office and started to look at his computer for a few minutes. As I was in a rush to get to my meeting, I asked John what the plan is. He said because of the tire being 9 years old, BigO can't inspect the tire or to patch it so he's looking at their inventory for tires that would fit my vehicle. I told him again that I don't have time to replace the tires today because I've got somewhere to go. John's response was "yea, we can't touch tires that are older than 4 years old. If you can't afford new tires, you have to look for a place that sells used tires". LOL.. read more

At 2:30, my car is in the bay, but not raised. 3:00 raised, but no work done. 3:30, my car is back in the parking lot - Yay. 20 minutes later, I have to ask if I can have my keys. I needed new tires and needed a place to do everything. One stop shop. I made a previous mistake by purchasing tires at Costco only to learn they did everything BUT alignment. I had to go to another establishment JUST to do a wheel alignment. That can be a pain when you are limited on time because of kids and work. So I was on the fence between two establishments that were familiar to me. The sales associate at the first establishment on the phone told me to call back another day to speak to someone else that could help me with ordering and comparing. Big O Tires customer service was a lot more responsive and helpful. I spoke to Jacqueline who was very patient and helpful with a few choices and brands I was specifically looking for. She told me about sales but I was honestly looking to purchase specific brands of tires. The cost ended up being equivalent to Costco with similar tire warranties but this included a wheel alignment with a one year warranty. We ordered the tires and set the appointment. Alright, here is the bread and butter. They won me over with their customer service in purchasing. Now that they have my money. How was the service? My appointment was at 8 (right when they opened). They were on time and processed me pretty fast. They said 2 hours to get the whole show done (four new tires w/ alignment on an SUV). Well. I got a call at 1030. So they were pretty spot on with the 2hr estimate. I was pretty surprised since most auto spots are always late. Got the car and everything was in order. If you are thinking of getting your vehicle service at this location make sure you inspect my car after and make sure they really do their job. I got my Tesla tire rotated and noticed after inspection that two tires were not rotated correctly. How do I know this? I have my tires marked to know where my tires are originally mounted. This happened once and now twice. I told the technicians and he said "I'm sorry. I got distracted". The service is a 20-30 min job and yet they still do it wrong. Make sure to check your tires if you get the service here. I know forsure I won't be coming back here. If You're paying for the service then you should end up with the full and correct service. When you make a 3:00 Appt and they haven't even pulled your car into a bay by 4:05, then what the heck is an appointment for? Their explanation that "cars were ahead of you" is Bad Business B. S. for "we pay no attention to our appointments" and then "we lie to you when you come in saying it will only take an hour or 90 minutes." It is now 4:13 and still no car in bay. Went here for tire repair like I usually do with my cars. However, this time I waited in line for about 45 minutes and was never acknowledged or served. There were 3 people in line when I arrived. It was around 2:45pm on a Friday. I knew there could be a wait but to wait in line and never be acknowledged was a bit of a surprise. One clerk left and never returned, leaving the line to one guy. In between customers he decided to clean his computer and surrounding area. Again, with no acknowledgment that there was a growing line. I left, and had my tire repaired down the street in less time than I waited in line. It seems this location is recently under new management. Long review-I came here to see if I can change out my rims and one tire due to it having a bubble on it I was going through my tire insurance, my initial process was with Julia. She did everything from the paperwork, to being the one to contact me , Everything seems to be fine. They told me that my insurance didn't cover the cosmetic damages so I will only be able to get one rim and one tire I was ok with that , I waited like a week and a half almost to get a respond back from them I guess from the insurance or for the tire and rim could be purchased . Finally got a call to come in to fix the tire she told me the amount I would pay out of pocket which would be 45$ I go in on a Friday around 3:30 Julia is there, I check in they tell me to take a seat etc next thing I know Julia leaves I was unaware at the time . It took almost 2 hours to place one tire and rim on the car when it comes time to pay I over hear a guy on the phone with Julia asking about the price so I inserted myself in the conversation and says she told me it was 45$ I wrote it down in my notes . She's on speaker she says " yea the price changed it has something to do with the tire " I says well y'all need to call the insurance back because that's not what you said to me and why wasn't this told to me prior coming in and prior to you leaving . The guy diddnt want to do his job and look in the computer and Julia says I'll just deal with it on Saturday saying that I can leave without paying I kept asking the guy for a price break down paper and he said he ddnt have it (it was literally in his hand ) . Saturday rolls around I hear nothing Wednesday comes and they are blowing up my phone wanting to collect payment the price went from 45$ to me over hearing the phone convo to 80$ to 41$ back to 45$ I told them ok I'll be in on Saturday because I was scheduled to work doubles . they then tried to threatening my boyfriend and say I had to come in that day and pay the 45$ or else I would be liable to pay the full 800$ and they only had 24hrs to collect the money from the insurance I called my insurance and she said they were lying they payment had already been processed. I was able to leave early on Wednesday so I went in and paid them. Julia knew she was wrong so she diddnt look my way the power JR was apologetic about the situation but I needed him to know what transpired was very unprofessional and Julia needs to be retrained because it's no way they should have let me leave without paying good thing I'm an honest person because anybody else wouldn't have. Didn't come in for service but called in for a quote and was hoping to have the services done by them. I saw a quote online that had a promotion of 4 tires for the price of 3. However when I called to confirm the quote they basically tried to upsell the warranty per tire that was optional online so the $400 tires and installation became over $730 worth when quoted by the shop and they said that with the tire promo we NEED to get the warranty per tire for $87 ea. read more

Considering they specialize in tires, this is a little concerning. There are two Big O Tires in San Leandro, both on Washington Street. This one is at Lewelling. The other is at Marina is the one run by Mario. I had just picked up some lunch to take to my dads when I noticed that I had a low tire pressure warning light. Knowing that the Big O was just up the street, I pulled in there. The parking lot was full and there were no available parking spaces. I pulled into the lot, left the engine running, my wife in the car, and started heading toward the office. One of the mechanics came out of a service bay and yelled something at me. I couldn't hear him so I got closer. He told me that I had to park in a parking space (there were none). When I didn't respond immediately, he told me again, more loudly this time, that I couldn't park there and move my vehicle. When he finished, I asked if I could ask a question. He said sure. I told him that I had a low pressure warning and wanted to see what they could do for me. He told me once again, to move my car and then go into the office. If there had been a parking space available, I would have agreed with him that I should not stop my vehicle where I had. However, it was not blocking anyone and my intent was to head to the the office anyway. Since his priority was to keep his parking lot organized, I did as he asked and moved my vehicle right out of his parking lot and to the other Big O at Marina. This is my second and last negative experience at the Lewelling Big O. While the first time was over ten years ago, I will never return here again. I purchased a full set of tires several weeks ago. At that time they did not have the rims that I needed so I had to take the tires elsewhere and have them put on. Typically, company policy dictates that if you carried them out (since they didn't install them, which is understandable), they really weren't obligated to repair the 2 screws that made their way into my back tire. but Joel agreed to it. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I found a business that wants my business and not just my money.
