I really wanted to like these guys. They work hard and are likely understaffed, but I've had multiple bad experiences here. Even if you have an appointment, expect to wait for a considerable amount of time. They replaced the wrong tire and not the tire with a screw in it. They said they rotated the tires even when it was clear they didn't. They said the tire was un-repairable even though it is. It was like a bait and switch as they said I had a tire under warranty and wanted to charge about 200 for another tire. Another time I had an alignment appointment at 11AM, but I came early at 10AM. I ended up waiting until 4PM to get my car back. Seriously, I would avoid this Wheel Works. Save yourself more headaches. read more

Avoid this location! Quality of work is poor. Wait time is poor, even with an appointment, you will be there at least an hour. The communication is lacking and dishonest, and the waiting area small and uncomfortable! Ended up taking my car some where else after several failed attempts at Wheel Works! Initially, I took my car to WW cause I noticed a big screw in one of my tires. Since my tires were all over 8 yrs old I decided to replace all 4 tires. Bought 4 new name brand tires. They charged me for balancing and alignment of the tires, but I had to come back 2 more times for this service cause my car kept shaking whenever I went over 60 mph and the problem was still there! Then they had the nerve to send me an email and photo saying my car frame was cracked. It wasn't when I brought it there! I finally gave up on WW and took my car somewhere to have the balancing and alignment done right! Also, the other place could not find a crack in my car frame! read more

They told me to leave the car and come back in 45 minutes. 40 minutes later they called saying the tire "can't be repaired" and I must buy a new one for $140 + tax. I drive a Hyundai Accent -- the same tire is $57 at Walmart. Clear scam. I left and went to Tri Valley Tire Shop just 3 minutes away. They repaired the screw perfectly in 25 minutes for only $36. Honest, fast, and reliable. ( see pictures) Avoid this place at all costs -- they will try to rip you off when you're in a tough spot. I got a flat tire last night and had to put on my spare. When I looked up hours for local tire shops I was happy to find that this place opens at 7am. I typically start work at 7:30 so even though I sent an email warning my coworkers that I would be late, I was hoping that I wouldn't be hours late. I got there at 7am and there was one guy ahead of me, but it turned out he was just making an appointment. There were other cars in the lot but Deili was great and got my paperwork done quickly and the mechanic started working on my car. One of the worst mechanic experiences I think I've ever had in my life. I set an appointment on Friday for 10am to have my break pads checked and my tire pressure looked at, and arrived around 10:05, probably a couple minutes sooner due to traffic. We get there, drop the car off, and after a chat with the man at the front, we were told that there were two cars in line ahead of us and we would get a call soon. (I'd like to make note that there were at minimum ten cars in the parking lot at this point.) 3pm rolls around and we realize that we hadn't heard from them yet. So we called, and were answered with "Oh well the mechanic is just now getting to look at it, we'll call you back in five minutes." Okay, great, I understand they have other clients and the communication is appreciated! They call back and say that they have to replace the back two break pads and rotors, and I realized that we hadn't heard any grinding from it despite being told it was metal to metal, so I asked for pictures. The pictures wouldn't send, so I decided to just save the hassle and go there myself and check it out, and they were right! There were, however, at least four less cars in the lot by now. I'm already stressed at this point, it's been five hours since the APPOINTMENT I scheduled so that I could have my car back. We sat in their waiting room from 4pm-5:30pm before we finally got an answer, that they were trying to get the parts and there was a complication because Auto Zones delivery driver was out of office by 4pm. I had an appointment for 10am. 10 in the morning. I did not get my car back until 6:45pm. That is nearly NINE. HOURS. Four of which I was sitting in front of a propped open door while 40-50 degree cool air was blowing in, so by hour two I was freezing and had to start pacing to keep myself warm. It should not take nine hours to do a break pad replacement that I brought in at 10am, that means I expect my car back BEFORE I HAVE TO EAT DINNER? I will NEVER be coming back to this company again for the employees lack of communication unless I specifically reached out, and for the fact I had to wait Nine. Hours. For a break pad replacement. A task most people have done in an hour. I was charged $384 to wait nearly half of a day for a car that should NOT have been in for that long for something so small. Edit: I forgot to add that for some reason they put my account under a random mans account with the same last name as me and instead of taking me off they totally changed his account to my name, which means this random man has my email address, phone number, and full name. And I have this random mans address!!! Security is obviously NOT an issue to them, or it's blatant discrimination with wanting a man to be involved because my roommates mother had the same thing happen to her! read more

Diego and his crew are authentically friendly, knowledgeable and, most importantly, trustworthy. Believe me, when I first started working with them I always double checked my quotes against their competitors. I know when I drop by here to get my car serviced whether it's for a quick patch, oil changes, or tire replacements that the price they offer me will be fair and that when they tell me that my treads are looking low that they mean it and not trying to schmooze me into buying new tires unnecessarily. My daughter, who works in San Leandro, called me this afternoon, I'm in San Jose, saying her tire had blown and had some side damage. This is a VW eGolf so there's no spare tire. I had her use her portable inflator to get enough air in while I called Wheel Works to check on getting a replacement. I spoke with Diego who found they had the tire in stock but wouldn't be able to work on it that day and she'd have to leave the car overnight. My daughter drove slowly the 1.5 miles from her work and once Diego saw the tire he and his team were able to get the tire replaced while she waited. Diego was very courteous, helpful, and professional. And the fact he was able to get the tire replaced without an overnight stay was extremely helpful. read more

After having a terrible experience at the wheel works location on Hesperian by Walmart. I called this location to see if they could help me out last minute. Vanessa took the time to ask the techs if they could knock out an alignment, it was Christmas Eve. When I showed up there was a car before me but as soon as he finished. My truck was next. The lead tech (I forgot his name but it starts with an S) test drove the truck, aligned it, test drove it, wasn't satisfied, and aligned it again. My job requires me to respond to emergencies and I had to cancel my appointment a couple times. Isaac and his crew were always accommodating and courteous. I need my car for business so I knew that wouldn't work. The CHP called a tow truck to haul my car to the nearest tire store at 4 pm. Even though there were 3 other customers ahead of me, Wheel Works had my tire in stock, mounted it and had me back on the road by 6 pm.This was a huge relief as I had to travel next day. I had a rear right tire that had a slow leak, so slow that if If put air in it on a Monday, 4 days later is when I would need to stop for air again. All my tires were a set and were fairly new. I did purchase the tire protection plan. So after they did the repair I was out the door another satisfied customer! I made an appointment..... for 8:30 am. I was heading home at 9:30 am. A great experience from start to finish. While waiting I did observe the crew and let me tell you they worked like a well oiled clock. Everybody in the building should get a raise! Fantastic Customer service! My tire pressure sensor came on right before I was leaving for a weekend on the central coast, I called 10 min to closing and the front desk person told me to swing by anyway and they would take a look. Once there the shop guy did a visual inspection on my tires, filled them to the correct pressure and made sure my sensor reset with the new PSI. I was in and out in less than 5 min. I just wanted to piggy back my previous review in year 2019. Again Tommy helped me with my tires this time. Customer service was A++ he pointed out why and where my tires were all cracked and expired. I decided to replace all 4 because I trust his expertise. The guy that was changing my tires was Sophana, he found out my front right tires two bolts was stripped due to a previous person changing my brakes. I was riding with 2 bolt lugs almost about to come off. Good thing Sophana pointed it out or else my beautiful BMW with HRE wheels would've been damaged and cost me thousands. I went here to get a simple service of an oil change and a tire rotation. A service which normally takes about 45 minutes took almost 2 1/2 hours. I sat in the waiting room and watched my car sit in the air for 50 minutes with no wheels on before they finally got things moving, at which point another man in the waiting room was getting frustrated about his car taking a while to be completed as well. Went in for a quick tire mounting & balancing service was decent up until I got my car back noticed that the tech unplugged a couple of my fuses causing my entire steering wheel control column to not work. I called before arriving and Tommy was really helpful. He asked for the tire size to make sure it was in stock, after confirming it was in stock he provided an out the store price. He advised that it would take about 2+ hours for the repair as I did not make an appointment. I arrived at 11:44 am and waited at the Marina Center. He called at 1:15pm to let me know that my car would be next for the walk in customers, they were taking the customer with appointments first. I got another call at 2:58pm from Tommy and he let me know my car was ready. They only had 2 people working today which I understand, it's a Sunday. Even know it took an hour longer than I expected, that was my fault for not making an appointment. I needed an emergency replacement and just needed it to be taken care of. I appreciated the update call and it was great customer service. Tommy also asked if I wanted the roadside insurance for my wheel, I wasn't sure I wanted to get it but he reminded I had it on my other car and I knew it was for the best. read more

I requested the appointment online and selected wait in store because I don't have any other means of transportation. When I got there there was no other customer in the waiting room. Talked to the man and he was polite but asked me to drop off, I was a little bothered because I didn't want to walk all the way back to my house or Uber. So that's the first thing. I dropped my car off at about 10:20 it's now 12:18 and I called to check the status of my car and he said it wouldn't be done till 2pm... I took my car in for new tires and alignment. $400 for tires. Ok. Then I got a call from Tommy, saying my brakes were worn, the control arm bushings were cracked, I over filled my oil (fine I drained it), and they refused to align my tires because of the cracked bushings saying my warranty is no good if I have the tires aligned on cracked bushings and the alignment would be at my own risk. That would've been a $2k bill. My second opinion told me bushings were fine, but rear brakes needed changing. I had the brakes done by my second opinion (Subaru dealership) because I wanted to reward their honesty. Long story short, if you're going to wheel works on Marina, get a second opinion if you're going to walk out with anything else besides a tire change. read more

I schedule and appointment a week ago to do and alignment for my vehicle but it seems like the manager Tommy Seto it has some issues with people getting late on appointments plus he has no manners talking to a customer because when I arrived he was screaming at me because he assures that I was speeding into the parking lot I apologize about it if I did but he didn't seem to care he was very rude about it anyways I'm pretty sure that all the anger that he had with me my car paid for it because he pretty much clean his dirty hands with it , I been a customer for this location for more then 7 years buying tires and alignments etc for both of my vehicles I'm going to upload a picture of my vehicle all dirty plus all the crap that he wrote on my paperwork all I need to say is Tommy you are horrible giving customer service and just to let you know you won't see me again because I rather spend my money where employees value and cares for customer service.... read more

Go figure that . I put my money where my mouth is you get me best price and your my Huckleberry. So I jumped into my Whip White Rabbit and rolled to Wheel Works Robert took my vital statistics off of White Rabbit and then rolled her into the shop. About a Hour and a Half . I picked up a puncture on my car and was told that it couldn't be repaired. I was later told that another Wheel Works I went to six months ago made a mistake by putting the same brand but slightly different tire on my car and that it was very bad for it. I was also told that I needed to buy two new tires to match the other two and they gave me an ultimatum that that was all they would agree to do. I talked to a man and every time we spoke he was belittling. He told me to research my car and then call him back. When I picked up my car, he asked if I had researched my car and when I said I had not and just made a decision he scoffed at me and suggested I get "educated" about my car.
