Back in 2023, I had a tire on my car which I thought was not properly holding air. To investigate, I went to a Discount Tire to get it inspected. They dunked it in water and found an issue with the inner rim of the wheel--some type of corrosion or wear. Since Discount Tire only sells rims, and they don't repair or offer to do so, I asked around at different shops about rim repairs. Most of them indicated that they worked with a mysterious third party wheel repair specialist in Dallas. It turns out that third party is Wheel Technologies. There happened to be a location in Austin; I first tried going there. It was a satellite office and the expectation was to bring in the wheel itself, but mine was still attached to my car. So I made the trek to Dallas to get the wheel fixed up. Arriving, you'll notice the place is located in a fairly industrial area--plenty of large rigs waiting around in the surrounding area for deliveries. There is some parking round the building, which appears to be renovated. Entering, I made my way to their main office area over wooden floors that creek when you step on them. There were around 6 large desks with folks working, and CCTV monitors showing the work area. I talked with someone who gave me a ticket and some paper work. They went over the quote and stipulated that they can only repair a wheel once, then they got to work. The total was extremely reasonable compared to obtaining a replacement rim. While there, I decided to do work in the conference room area near the entrance. It was quiet and had cushy office chairs. There was a distinct lack of Wi-Fi. Upon completion, I was able to checkout and could see where they made the repair. It's been more than a year and the repair seems to have held up quite well. Conclusion: If you have issues with rims, Wheel Technologies certainly has the expertise and equipment for repair. They clearly stipulate what they can and cannot repair, and they are straight forward in terms of cost. Many auto shops send repair work to them. read more

After taking my son's Subaru here to repair some wheels and refinish them, they cross threaded and stripped the majority of the wheel studs. Even after having the Manager at Discount Tire and a mechanic from Christian Brothers talk with Danny and confirm that his company caused this damage, Danny Blaser is refusing to pay me. We will likely end up in court for a much higher cost to everyone. Avoid this company like the plague. read more

Customer Service is a one! Service is a three These people do not work with the public often. When I walked in I felt like they have never seen a human before. It was very awkward. Before you go do your homework , you need to know their business for some reason they don't explain anything unless you push. They work mainly with dealership and tire distributors. Also, money talks so they are reluctant to have anyone waste their time. Just for reference I spoke to 4 different people and all of them had the same personality, cold as a fish. I got a quote when I called it and it was wrong compared to my invoice. It was in my favor so I let it be, just a warning to everyone. They didn't even call me to tell me my car was ready! My original factory rims were smoked surfaces / black interior. I wanted to keep the original rims; but change to machined surfaces / black interior. After a lot of research and comparisons, I am thankful I chose Wheel Technologies. The machined surfaces were identical and smooth and the black had the right clarity. I hit a nasty pot hole a few months ago in my car, which cracked the backside of the OEM rim. I made a trip out to Wheel Technologies on a Saturday only to find out that they don't run production on the weekends. I was able to speak to someone after a bit of confusion on their operating hours and a locked front door... I spoke with a gentleman by the name of Joe and explained the cracked rim situation. We discussed their process, my options, and even putting the donut on the car and leaving the rim there so they could work on it Monday. I opted to leave the rim on the car because of the trip distance from my location. Joe took my information and put it in their system and gave me a quote for the repair. He also mentioned that I could take the rim to a local Firestone or NTB in an effort to save me the trip back over to their location. I took my car to Firestone on Monday as Joe suggested. That process at Firestone was pretty seamless. I took a photo of the cracked rim for a before and after comparison. Two days went by and no word from Firestone. So, I decided to call Wheel Technologies directly and see if I could get a status. Seeing how I was there in person a few days prior and spoke to Joe, I figured this would be pretty painless. After explaining who I was to the lady on the phone, she transferred me to Joe, who I spoke to for maybe a whole minute. His response to my inquiry about the repair status was "Did you call firestone first?". After a couple questions, I realized that Joe was uninterested in giving me the status of the rim - like when they received it, whether it was indeed repairable or not, and if/when it was scheduled to be on a truck back over to Firestone, so I said thank you and ended the call. I understand that I went through Firestone and they're acting as the "middle man" in this situation, but given the circumstances and the fact that I spoke to Joe in person a few days prior (he even put me in their system himself), I figured that calling for a status would've yielded a better customer service experience here. After the phone call with Joe, I called Firestone and asked for a status, they said they would need to call Wheel Technologies to get a status... which I had just tried to do. A few minutes later, Firestone called me back and told me the rim was on a truck and they expected to see it within the next hour or so. Less than 30 minutes went by and Firestone called me to confirm that the wheel was in their possession, so I headed up to the shop to have it reinstalled on the car. Upon on arrival, I asked to see the wheel before they put it back on the car... at first glance I was impressed. Wheel Technologies ended up refinishing the whole rim, so the front side looked almost brand new in comparison to what it was before (curb checks from previous owner, etc.), but the backside where the repair needed to be done was a whole different story. The weld on the crack was horrible! It looks as if the current was set too high! I understand the repair is on the backside of the rim, out of sight when on the car, but regardless - have some pride in the quality of your weld! After the rim was installed back on the car, I noticed a color difference between the original OEM rims and the repaired rim. Overall, the rim was repaired and the cost was much lower than buying a brand new OEM rim, but I'm disappointed in the quality of the weld and their customer service. read more

My body repair shop used Wheel Technologies to repair two rims and to replace two tires. One of the rims flaked the finish off in a corner. One of the two tires Wheel Technologies sold me came to me with a plug in it. I should not have listened to my repair shop when they said "no problem, they are guaranteed tires as they are new". This comment from an employee at Rock Collision who is no longer there and was not missed when he left according to the body repair shop. I later got a screw in the tire with the plug and the tire repair store (Discount Tires) said they could not safely repair a tire with a plug six inches away from the screw. So what did Wheel Technologies do? Nothing except to guarantee the rim. They sold the tires to Rock Collision in Georgetown, put an incorrect tire serial number on the invoice to my body repair store and disavowed ownership of the tires. Somewhere someone must have switched tires, incorrectly put the wrong serial numbers down (Both Tires???) but bottom line is I, as well as Rock Collision, were screwed over. Rock Collision is paying me for one tire out of their pocket, Wheel Technologies is redoing the faulty refinish job and I have to eat the loss of the second tire because you cannot just change out one tire on radials. These tires had at least 85 to 90% life left in them. Just look at the tread on the pictures of my tires. And to further add aggravation, I have to rent a car while Wheel Technologies has to pull the rim to repair it. That is another $100+ OUT OF MY POCKET. This was not my error, nor my fault. Wheel Technologies through bad invoicing, an inept or possibly corrupt employee on one end or the other has cost me a lot of aggravation added costs and distrust. read more

My goal was to take my stock mustang gt wheels and have then stripped down, repaired, and a custom gun metal "one off" paint job. Jose was awesome. Had a rim that was slightly bent on the inside, outside of view, but it was enough to heavily effect performance . Wheel Technologies initially diagnosed that the tires were out of round so I had those replaced, and then I had them repair the wheel itself. Absolutely worst customer service and experience. I went in for a simple touch up, and was told to leave my car and it would be ready around 3PM. I get a call from Monica and she says that the employees just started working on my car.. She calls me about an hour later and says they are done. I go in to pick up my car and notice there is paint splatter all over my wheels, and my lug nuts are not the same as before.. Come to find out they broke two of the studs on my wheel hub assembly and tried to cover it up by going to the auto shop and getting two new studs and hammering them in and putting two different lug nuts on. Of course I immediately noticed and questioned Monica. She said she doesn't know what happened and that she was going to ask the people that worked on my car. She goes in and starts whispering to one of the workers, and then they finally tell me what happened after trying to cover it up and MAKE ME PAY FOR IT. The workers come out and explain what happened and tell me what they had to do. They were covering it up and going to let me drive home without telling me anything. The reason Monica said that they hadn't started my car was because they broke my wheel hub studs and were hopping around trying to get it fixed while in the meantime doing a terrible paint job on my wheel. I love and hate this place. I hate it because if I'm coming here, it means I hurt my car in some way (whether it was my fault or not). I love it because the service is always honest, caring, and fair. I brought in a slowly leaking wheel off my z4 because Discount Tire told me it wasn't a nail, but rather probably a bent wheel. I left my car at WT overnight since I got there at the end of the day, and came back to a perfect wheel. The kind of good service you deserve I have had an issue with my wheels for quite some time. Initially, I thought it was the alignment that was causing the issue. Completed the alignment and the car was still not "stable". I then proceed and check all the undercarriage components and everything checked out. Out of options, I then narrowed my search down to the wheels as I've gotten a flat not too long ago. I originally looked up Wheel Technologies but due to its lack of good rating on Yelp, I looked away and was searching for alternatives. Fast forward another week, I called my friend up and asked if he has a recommendation for wheel repair, he immediately gave me Wheel Technologies' phone number and ask me to speak with Logan. It was fairly straightforward on finding where the shop is, it is located right by the 35E freeway. Upon entering the office, I was greeted by an older gentleman and the man himself - Logan. After just a quick chatting with Logan, I realize that it would have been a big mistake had I not personally came down to the shop and check it out myself. Logan is the General Manager at Wheel Technologies, his demeanor as well as professionalism has definitely gotten my attention. After speaking to him extensively on what I was experiencing, he suggested that we take the wheels off and check them. To make the long story short, it wasn't the wheel that was causing the issue. Logan and his team helped me to put the tires back and wheels back on my car and gave me some recommendations. I don't think I've ever walked out of a shop feeling so informed about my car than I did after visiting Wheel Technologies. Being a privately own business, all the people that work here are very nice and friendly, a huge plus for the business owner and the culture that is instilled in this place. I am a bit surprised why there arent any reviews about this place. The actual work they did on my car gets 5 stars. It's amazing that they can fix wheels in a single day. The day crew gets major points for hustling. The service itself is a slightly different story and somewhat weird. As you enter the shop, you hit a T-intersection in the office. I took the left side as I heard people there. I walked into a big office room with a bunch of desks. I had many people look at me but no one acknowledged me. I stood around until I was approached. You just have to take it with a grain of salt and remember your car will be taken care of. I would recommend the actual service part but not the consultation part. I asked all the questions because the first person I dealt with would not say a word and I really felt like this was a fancy operation of sorts. When I went to go pick up my car, a guy approached us with my work order. He had brown hair and a scruffy goatee. Not only did he take care of my friend's concern about his wheels, but put me at ease about picking up my car. Can't wait to have this place do my next set of wheels. I purchased some fancy wheels for a previous truck build but ended up trading that truck in on a newer one that is a different color. The original wheel color just didn't work on the new truck so I dropped in to Wheel Technologies to inquire about changing the color. I did a real number on my wheels and needed to replace my front wheel. After making 50-60 phone calls to shops in the area I was quoted a decent price with Wheel Technologies. After making a few more calls I decided to order with them since they gave me a reasonable price. $260 for a 2009 Lexus IS250 wheel sounded a lot better than the $300-600 I've been quoted everywhere else. I knew the model and exact size I needed so I thought I'd make it easier on myself to place the order over the phone instead of making a trip out there. I called on a Tuesday to placed the order and the representative said he would be able to order my wheel but it would take 2-3 business days for it to come in. After giving the OK to order it he said he would call me back to get some more information so I would be in the system. I never heard back from him and when Thursday rolled around I decided to give them a call. He was clueless about what was going on. After calling the place that he ordered my wheel from I was told it wasn't shipped out until Wednesday night and it would probably be Friday at the earliest for the wheel to arrive. He wanted me to make a payment over the phone because my order was considered a "special order". I was upset at this point. I was not prepared to make the payment over the phone because I had cash and left my credit card at home. He gave me an attitude and told me to call him back as soon as I was able to pay with my card. This situation alone felt a little sketchy and I refuse to pay for something that isn't in front of me. A few hours later I got a voice mail from them saying that they received my order but it was the wrong wheel and the earliest I would be able to get it was Monday. At this point I didn't want to deal with them. If I could take away the one star I definitely would. I do not appreciate their attitude. The rude customer service and lack of professionalism. I ended up going to Wheel Repair Solutions in Carrollton and had a much better experience. I was quoted $300 for my wheel and I was more than willing to fork over that $40 for their great customer service. read more

What a fantastic job they did. I was recommended to these guys from Cobb Tuning. They picked up my wheels from Cobb, and had a 1 day turn around time on their work. Very reasonable price...and oh my did they look brand new. Not to mention, that all of my steering wheel vibration was gone due to the "flat spots" in the rims. I would consider using them every few years just to put that "sparkle" and life back into my rims. They were the OEM BBS Rims that came on my 2009 Subaru STI (so by no means "cheap rims" ) ****** (6 star) review on their work quality. The guys at Wheel Tech were very friendly and helpful. My 2014 4Runner was shaking and bumping down the road, and I was told it was the wheels by another place, so I took it to Wheel Tech and they checked my wheels and tires and balanced them. They walked me through the whole process, showed and explained what was going on. We found out that the wheels were great but the tires were cheap and wobbly. Anyway, they did all of that at no charge, and recommended a few good tires and places to get them. Two other places had already rotated and balanced my tires and they were still causing the shaking, but after Wheel Tech did it, the ride was much smoother. I still need new tires, but Wheel Tech's balancing made a massive difference in drive quality in the meantime. They were very professional, competent and went out of their way to help me out. If if ever need wheels or wheel repairs, I'll be going to them! read more

Let's start with the positive: 1. The people seem nice. 2. MIGHT be okay if you ONLY have light, cosmetic damage on a small wheel. Now let's list the negatives: 1. Questionable competence. They state the following on their website: "Your inspected wheel then moves on to our metal department. Here it is checked with special instrumentation for trueness and roundness." Having walked in and looked at their shop and equipment, it's more like traveling back into the sweat shops of the 1700's. I noted no "special instrumentation." On the contrary, it looked more like a dark, trashed, messy high school shop, minus any technical expertise. In our case, they have had three opportunities to repair four 21" wheels. They claim "they're balanced." They may balance on their single, beat up, bottom-of-the-line wheel balancer from 1982 (an embarrassment in itself), but on our new car they vibrated so much the car was almost undrivable at freeway speeds. (The stock wheels are fine--as smooth as can be.) Then they sent the wheels to another shop with a road-force balancer, claiming they were fixed. No change--not even close to "repaired" or balanced. After going back and forth, our local tire shop staff looked at the problem and found that some of the wheels were grossly out of round, with a lateral roundout/wobble that was easily visible to the eye when spun, even at low speeds. So Discount Tire sent them back, again. No improvement.... 2. Terrible customer service. After having the wheels sent back THREE times, I placed two calls asking for an owner or manager to call me to get this resolved. No one ever bothered to call back. Nice, real nice. I guess that's once they've been paid, they just don't give a darn, even with a large corporate account. 3. Poor attention to finish/paint. They painted the wheels after their "repairs" but it was barely adequate: a careful look reveals the paint wasn't applied as well as the factory finish, nor is the gloss or shine quite as good. When washing the car it's obvious the clear coat isn't well applied as the wheel spokes aren't smooth. They just don't look quite right with an imperfect finish, but we're stuck with them now as I'm not going to start all over and do this again with them. Plus, the inside finish on one of the rims was badly scratched and gouged in one location. They indicated that it was from the hook they use to hold the wheels while painting . . . and assumed that's just fine. I asked why the other three wheels didn't have the paint gouge/scratches. They just shrugged. And so it remains gouged and scratched because that's just fine with them. Wow. In closing, these guys seem cheaper, but it's for good reasons, as we've learned with several experiences now. if you care about how your wheels look and how your car drives and feels at highway speeds, there are much, much better choices elsewhere....
