I drove up from Austin to Plano specifically for Unit F14 after scheduling an appointment with Drew, and I couldn't be happier with the decision. From start to finish, this was exactly the kind of professional, high-quality service you hope for but rarely find. Drew was incredibly helpful in the color selection process. I wanted to refresh the look of my Apex VS-5RS wheels on my 2020 BMW M2 Competition (Hockenheim Silver), which were originally in brushed aluminum. After discussing options, we settled on Prismatic Champagne Gold - a gorgeous silver with just a hint of gold that complements the car perfectly. Drew's expertise really showed here; the color choice was spot-on. **What impressed me most:** - **Punctuality:** Drew met me right at 9am as scheduled - no waiting around - **Pricing:** Very fair and competitive rates - **Quality:** The powder coating work is absolutely flawless - **Personality:** Drew is genuinely friendly and clearly knows his craft inside and out - **Turn-key Service:** They offered a complete package deal with discounted wheel dismounting/mounting and professional balancing when the work was finished The finished product speaks for itself - the Prismatic Champagne Gold finish looks incredible against the Hockenheim Silver paint. The quality of the coating is top-notch with perfect coverage and a beautiful, consistent finish. If you're looking for powder coating services and willing to make the drive up to Plano, Unit F14 is absolutely worth it. Drew and his team deliver professional results with excellent customer service. I'll definitely be back for future projects, like a set of F90 BMW Calipers for my 640i GT that I've got my eye on.... *Highly recommended for anyone looking to refresh their wheels or other powder coating needs.* read more

I had a car I'm working on that needed the headers coated and I reached out to Unit F14. They suggested Cerakote. We went ahead with gold Cerakote and they look great. It's been a while and I'm still working on the same vehicle and haven't yet fired it up. I will say that the coating will scratch easily and I had to be very careful installing them. I was told that it won't fully cure until the exhaust gets up to temperature. I assume it will be more robust afterwards, but I don't plan on removing and reinstalling them after that either. Service is great and Drew is personable and helpful. Let him help you. read more

I recently moved from SoCal to TX and was nervous about trying a new shop chosen solely based on online reviews. I've always been able to take my car to shops owned by or recommended by friends in SoCal, so this was definitely out of my comfort zone. I spent 2 months researching before I finally decided to reach out to Unit F14; the stellar online reviews and images convinced me to give it a try. Spoiler Alert: I couldn't be happier with my decision! Before I go any further, understand that I am about as OCD as they come when it comes to my car. I keep the black paint on my RCF pristine, to the point that it looks like a black mirror at all times. I will notice any mark, scratch, ding, chip, etc. and believe me, I was very nervous (no joke, nightmares leading up to the day of drop-off) about leaving my car with strangers, even if it was just for one night. That being said, the wheels came out PERFECT and my car was not harmed in any way. Drew is very responsive and friendly, and the work Unit F14 does is AMAZING. My wheels are the exact color I wanted (Playboy Blue) and that clear powder coat on them brings out an incredible shine. Turn-around time was actually quicker than expected and all of my expectations were exceeded. I will definitely be bringing another set of wheels to have powder coated, once I determine what color I want! In fact, I wish I had more items to powder coat! read more

My wheels came out looking amazing. Attention to detail was excellent and wheels look great! Better than OEM.

Update on these guys...I got a new car and immediately reached out. Before I did, I did my research. I paid $440 last run with "White glove service." The car was left at my home and the turn around was 24 hours. The work and the way they ran their business was amazing. Today, not so much. My quote was $600 for a vehicle easier to do. $440 to $600 in two years. I reminded them that I paid $440 and went as far as to screen shot the IG picture and then quoting the price to another customer. Their response was "Well, we were just getting started then." They did come down $50 but added tax so we all know it's going to be their $600. I totally understand their need to charge more but that is an increase I know not many people would swallow ESPECIALLY repeater customers from the beginning. Horrible business ethics. Don't work with these guys. They are definitely not who they used to be. For $600 go to a legit fully insured shop where you don't have to do any of the work such as taking off the tires, disassembling the calipers. Sad to see businesses change like this. read more

Excellent response timing, they answered all my questions, and kept me. Updated during the process, they brought to life my akebono calipers, highly recommended. Many other in this business forged an essential key to the game. Customer service!! read more

I was looking to have 20' wheels coated. After speaking with several shops, these guys were one of my top two choices. When I followed up with both shops, the customer service is what gave the edge to Unit F14. From the initial phone call to the time I drove out of the parking lot, their customer service and communication was great. I had to book a week in advance and was able to leave my vehicle there during the service. They did an excellent job on the wheels and turnaround time was less than 48 hours from vehicle drop off. Good business. read more

I recently got my Porsche Cayenne wheels powder coated by these guys. Chose the matte black. I have to say I was a little concerned with them being in business for a short time, but they delivered with flying colors. Drew even helped me find some matching center cap stickers to match the matte black wheels!!!! 1. Drew and John are very professional. 2. They respond quickly and answered all my questions and concerns. 3. They came to my house to pick up and deliver "On Time" as promised. Being late for an appointment is a pet peeve for me. I highly recommend these guys if you want to get your wheels powder coated and want a couple of young business owners that take pride in customer service! Great job fellas! read more

I needed to powdercoat the wheels on my BMW. Drew and John were great. They scheduled me over a weekend and came to pick up my wheels from my house. Not many companies in this industry will do those two things. They were extremely careful when putting my beloved car on jackstands. Turn around time was as promised. Tires were remounted and wheels were rebalanced. They even put on black wheel weights so they wouldn't be noticeable inside the black wheels. Results were perfect. Truly a great service. read more
