I took my BMW 335i to Wheel Techniques. The front wheel had a crack and was leaking air. Rowell (and Mike) did a thorough job in inspecting the damage. Rowell also showed me that the wheel was bent as well. Took 3 days to fix the wheel, but the car's now working much better. I think these guys did a fantastic job... you go here and you see people working on things all the time. They work well together and know what they're doing. I'd highly recommend them! read more

This place is total garbage. They tell you it will take 1-2 weeks and it ends up taking over a month. Each time they promise to call, they don't. Each time they say "oh it'll be done in 2 days, John is working on it", it's a boldfaced lie. If they say they can repair it to match your existing wheels, it's another lie. If they tell you on the phone it will be $225, it's a lie -- it will be $300. It would have been faster and cheaper for me to have just sent the wheel to another shop by UPS than deal with these scumbags. What a terrible experience. read more

Do not waste your time or money here! Been a big fan of Wheel Techniques for some years now but the buisness has changed greatly. Jeff has become big headed and cocky and thinks just because he has some accounts with some of the Porsche dealers that he does not need buisness from everybody else. Funny thing is, the only reason that he has any buisness is because he is 1 of 2 shops in the bay area that do wheel repair They charge the highest prices, provide average work and worst off all dont stand behind their work. If they tell you a week, it means three weeks. They will never call you with updates but lie to you making you believe that they are finish. You end up with 3-4 visits to pick your wheels but find out that they are far from done. What a waste of time. My last set of wheels were refinished with a less than adequate job. After waiting 2 extra weeks for the wheels to be done and 4 extra visits cause the workers told me they will done I finally picked up my wheels. The paint job was horrible, excess paint everywhere and Jeff stated to me that the wheels aluminum finish came in like that. Obviously I knew what the wheels looked like and they were not like that. Just a crappy paint job for a outrageous price. I don't mine paying $$$$ but I expect the work to match the price. Jeff admitted to the bad work and stated that he would redo the wheels for freeanytime you come back. SO i came by a month later and droped off the wheels. He said they would be done in a week but I knew that meant atleast 2 weeks. I didn;t even bother to call or check on the wheels cause I knew they didn't even start them. So on week three, I call them and they said they would be done at the end on MOnday. To my surprise on Wednesday of week three- they didn't even touch them. To make the story short, Jeff didn't redo the wheels. He said they wanted to start to refinish one wheel cause he did not know what the outcome would be and he did not want to do all 4 wheels again. I got into a agruement with him and I mentioned all the bad rep he was getting on Yelp. He admitted seeing the review but stated he didn't care and he did not need my buisness, He bragged how busy he was. Little did he know that I have I reffered over 20 clients to him already and I have reffered another 20 clients not to go there since. SOmebody asked me today about Wheel techniques today and told them don;t go there ever and tell your friends not either. Jeff I hope you read this, you probably know who I am. I hope you understand the power of service, quality of work and word of mouth. The internet is a great way of telling true experiences. You might be busy now but I can gurantee if you keep up your poor quality work and bad service NOBODY WILL EVER COME again The other wheel shop is WHEELS AMERICA in UNion City- havent tried them but they gurantee turn around times. ok so i've made a Yelp account to specifically give a review for this place. do yourself a favor and do not go to this place. they misinform you, make excuses, lose parts to your wheel, and make you wait 2+ months on something that should take no longer then 2 weeks. i'd say i was patient with the time, but seriously 2+ month to return my wheel back looking like a 10yr old took a spray can and sprayed it? if i knew that i would have just went to my niece and had her spray away. i have nothing good to say about this place. - 2+ months of waiting to have wheels repaired. - my pvd coating of just the lip of my wheel came back with an orange peal affect, the wheel did not look like it was clean as dirt was trapped, a lot of impurities. - their solution to fix it was wet sand the wheel lip, which does nothing another, 2 weeks of waiting. - don't compare your chrome plated rims you have on display to your PVD process. they are not the same they will not come out the same! - answer to my orange peal effect on my wheel " that is just how it comes out because your wheel lip is 4 inches wide" seriously!? - wouldn't redo my wheel since to them having chrome that looks like orange peal is what it should look like. - READ THE FINE PRINT! THEY MAKE YOU SIGN AN INVOICE THAT STATES YOU WILL NOT BE LEGALLY ABLE TO RECEIVE ANY CHARGEBACK FUNDS. pretty much the consumer is screwed if they did a crappy job like they did on my wheel and will not fix it to look like it should - seriously $260 to spray my wheels? do yourself a favor and head to Wheels America. $200 to re-chrome my wheel lip. Wheels America actually does chrome plating not PVD which is a coating, or in my case looks like it came out of a spray can. they actually explain what they will be doing, something this place might want to try doing. there is a 1 year warranty on the work they do. my wheel came back looking like how chrome should look like. like many others with review on this place, take your business elsewhere read more

Three bad experiences, will not repeat. Every time they painted and repaired wheels for me the clear coat paint flakes off after approx two months. They refused to make it right on two occasions siting a 30 day warranty. Dirt, dust, hair in the finish as well and never have them balance your tires. They do not have a load force Hunter 9000 though they claimed they did. Their invoice says if you give them negative reviews on yelp you will " face legal action". i recently had my valve cover powder coated. the paint and finish turned out pretty good. they even accommodated one request i had. the turn around was fast which was 2 days which was very convenient specially i had a car show to go to . ok the bad things, theres a few parts which the coating was peeling and minor bubbling, no big deal, they even offered to reshoot it if im not satisfied. the reason why i only gave 3 stars is because of all the sand residue left in the baffles of the valve cover, sand doesnt mix well in the engine. i understand that it would be hard to have no sand go in but atleast rinse it with water afterwards. so i jus cleaned it because i dont want my engine to sieze. in conclusion, i would use their services again because they do good work and very accommodating, but do recheck if you're getting a valve cover done. read more

1st, i am not a big fan of writing. English is my 4th language, so am sorry for my poor english writing skill. I was skeptical the first time visited wheel technique. First, I called the place to get a price quote. They said average $125 per wheel. So, I stop by to get it look it. Since there was a chip and crack on one the wheel. they are asking for $175 for repair and recondition, or whatever they need to do to fix. I also ask if they can polish the three other which in good condition. He wanted to charge the same price. I was unsure why, therefore I just went on my merry way... drove off Since i got no knowledge about wheel repairs, I ask friend and also finally did my research online about it. My friend had a good experience in the past, he stated that wheel techniques does a fine job for that that price. Online review was, Hmmmm.... Mildly good. I finally gave W.T. a chance. When I came back on Monday to again to get my wheel fix, I can't believe they try to quote me for a higher price plus Mounting the wheel off. Since am here already might as wheel have W.T. fix it, I was able to remind the guy that he quoted me at $175 therefore he had to honor that price. Okay, paid, got the paper work. I ask when will it be complete. Thursday! the man said. La La La, a week past, thursday got work.... Monday comes around, it has been 6 working business, I called early monday morning. Some guy picked up said, i must call Dave back at Noon to know what going on. La La La, waited till noon, I call again. I got Dave on the line, got place on hold for a few minutes while he go check. He said the lip is done but it is not center.. Am like What? Is Monday, did not you estimated thursday, I gave 2 extra business day and still not done? Unbelievable! Overall, my experience at W.T. was not pleasant. I got run around from employee, mis-quoted, and the work was delay. If seriously you got no other way to repair the wheel, then is okay to have it fix at W.T., Other than that, I would not gave my business next time around. read more

I had a damaged rim repaired here. The employee forgot to return the spare tire in the trunk. When I got home I phoned in right away to come back and get the wheel. By the time I got back my spare tire went missing. When I informed the manager or owner John about it he suggested I stole the wheel. I asked him to play back the security footage to clear this nonsense dispute but he refused and gave me a bs excuse that he needs a technician to playback the footage and it will take 2 weeks. Sounds fishy right? It gets better after John calls me and chews me out over the phone he returns my phone calls with an apology and stating they have my wheel. When I came back for the 3rd time to receive this wheel I noticed immediately that the tire wasn't mine. John pretty much was trying to give away a random spare tire. John apologies again and says he will order the wheel from Mercedes and this should be the end of it. Few business days later I receive a phone call the my spare tire is in. When I return for the 4th time to get my wheel back I open the box at Wheel Techniques and again to my surprise the box has a rim for a different car and no tire. After that I had enough. This was a horrible experience and absolutely suggest to other people take your business elsewhere. read more

I had a 2015 Porsche Cayenne wheel with curb rash and I then hit a rock in May cutting the tire bead and bending the wheel. These guys straightened the wheel and refinished it. It was a perfect match to the other wheels and they did this in a week!. It looks like a brand new wheel for 20% of the cost of a new one. I picked up the wheel and they wanted me to know that if there was any color match issue they would make it good. These guys are amazing and today this level of commitment is rare. read more

Ok first off, I've had 3 experiences with this place. The first time I brought a pair of wheels to their SACRAMENTO shop. They fixed a couple of bends and curb rashes. I was quoted one price but then got a call and said it was gonna be about a $150 more because there were more bends then expected..... I paid about $400 but the wheels looked good so I didn't complain. Second time, I had a crack in one of my rims. Since I moved back to the Bay Area I thought I'd drop it off at the shop in Santa Clara. They said it could be fixed no problem and you wouldn't know it was ever fixed. They also told me it should be done in 3 day. I dropped it on a Saturday, so it should have been done mid week. Its hard for me to get down there during the week so I called them on Friday to make sure it was done so that I can pick it up the next day on Saturday. They said they were just finishing it up and it should be another day or two. Fine, waited another week and picked it up. I wasn't to trilled I had to wait an extra week. Third Experience: I had another pair of wheels refinished, lips and centers. I picked them up but found many imperfections in the clear. There were bubbles, and the clear looked hazy and not clear at all. I told them I wasn't happy and they said they would re do them and would take a couple of days. Gave them a call on Friday afternoon a week later and they said it was ready for pick up. So I drove down the next day to find out they weren't done yet. All they guy said was that he was sorry and that he thought they were finished. Then the owner of the shop came out and kept telling me he was the owner and that he want to make sure I was happy and satisfied. I told him that I don't appreciate wasting gas and my time to drive down to find out that they're not finished. I mentioned that I should get some sort of compensation or discount. He said he'll finish the wheels himself with in the hour. I came back an hour later wheels were finished, but still not perfect. I decided I've had enough and took the wheels. I could have sent the wheels back to the manufacturer and had them refinished them for the same cost AND same time with shipping included... I WOULD NEVER USE THESE GUYS AGAIN AND WOULD RECOMMEND THE SAME TO YOU!!!! read more

alot of people like and dis-like them all i can say is i loved this place and im go here when ever anything happens to any of my rims. all i can say is they made my rim look new i thought they just bought a new rim for me lol. i would of gave this spot a 5 but the front desk guy was kinda forgetful on thier contracts and they have a lil kid running loose in that spot must be the oweners daughter. usally takes 2 weeks to get your order down which it took me 2 so they do thier work. read more

Very bad turn around time with wheel repair. don't expect to get them when they say you will get them. ADD AT LEAST 2 WEEKS TO THEIR ESTIMATED TURN AROUND TIME. I brought my one rim in on 1/29/09 and didn't get it back til 2/11/09. i wouldn't be mad if they told me it would take that long, instead they told me it would be done in one week. I'm a little disappointed to see all the bad reviews and NOT the hundreds of happy customers supporting these guys. I personally have had 20 wheels done by these guys from my dirtbikes to my F430 Modena. I will admit there are some communication problems but the quality work is the ONLY thing that matters to me at the end of the day. I had a bend in my rim on my F430 and they rims were no longer produced and they fixed in a little over a week for me and they ONLY charged me $250 for something that originally costs me well over a thousand dollars. If there is any problems Jeff has always made sure he has made it RIGHT, as for that is his main priority. Turn around time on any CUSTOM job has always been 10 days and thats pretty good for some of the CRAZY paint I've had them do for me. If you think you are gonna get your wheels done in 2 days YOUR the crazy one for thinging it's even humanly possible. Give these guys a shot they are by far the best at what they do. read more

So I came here Thursday to get my rim fixed and when I first came in the guy in the front was really nice to me. They knew what they were doing . They told me my rim was fixable and had told me that it was going to be done by Monday or Tuesday. That they would give me a call. So mon comes no call, tues comes no call. Not till a week later on a Tuesday I finally called them & told the guy on the phone I haven't received a call and it's been a week. I wasn't mad at all. I was just letting him know. I'm not one to complain because I'm definitely not that kind of costumer because I know how it feels to be on the other side of the counter BUT He came off so rude and told me "we are so busy all the time, we don't do out calls" pretty much making it seem like I'm blaming him and I'm like thinking okay so how am I suppose to know when my rims ready? I mean does that make any sense ? So I brushed it off and was like oh no it's fine I understand. He told me it was going to be ready later in the afternoon I said okay thank you but before I could even finish he hanged up on me. That pissed me off . Later my bf picked the rims up and he had told me that they just left the rims outside and didn't even bother letting my bf know that it's ready to go or even helped him in that matter (not like my bf needs help) but still you're an employee don't just leave my rims laying out like that. So I gave them a call cause I thought for a second the $30 extra I paid was for installing my tire back to my car and when I asked if that's what dismount and mount meant to the guy (who I think it was the same guy that answered the first time) once again RUDE made it seem like I was stupid or something when I just clearly asked a damn question obvi it ain't say what the damn dismount and mount meant in the damn receipt. Ya'll need to get it together. I mean thanks for the rims you guys did a wonderful job but damn fire the rude employee who kept answering the phone. With his smart a*ss remarks. In contrast to the other reviews here, I had a terrific experience w/ Wheel Techniques. This is the second time I have used them-if there is someone else out there that does a better job-I sure don't know of them. I had my Fuchs wheels brought back to original finish and paint-I was given a reasonable estimate, and a date when they would be completed. I later brought 2 new tires in to be mounted. My wheels were finished to perfection!!-they are beautiful!-mounted on my tires-not lost (!)and completed on time!. I think that there are some unrealistic expectations of the part of some consumers-if you do your homework and have an idea of what you want in regards to your wheel work-do yourself a favor and use these guys-there is nobody better. They have a ton of work going on all the time-all with various degrees of detail so I'm sure mistakes happen, but my experience with them was great-I think they are a value and I will use them again and urge others to do the same-they know their stuff! read more

I gave this company one star primarily because zero stars was not an option. They refinished a set of wheels for me which took almost two weeks longer than the original estimate. While the quality looked good, the paint on the wheels began to flake 1.5 years later. I called them to have the wheels redone given the fact that they said that their workmanship carried a lifetime guarantee. I was told that I had "waited too long". Silly me, I thought "lifetime" was in reference to how long I owned the wheels and not the average life span of bee. Suffice it to say that I won't be dealing with these clowns again. read more

excellent service - I have been using Wheel techniques for over 10 years and they keep my 1991 911 looking beautiful. I live in the SC mountains and the bad roads are very hard on my rims. They always come back as true as new and with a beautiful finish. I also use them when I purchase new tires, I just don't trust any of the local establishments to jack up my Porsche. Lastly, a few years ago I did have a problem with one rim i had repaired and they bent over backwards to minimize the inconvenience and make it right $wise. I love these guys. read more

DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE!!!! I dropped off parts for a very rare car to be POWDER COATED after they gave me numerous assurances that they were the best in the business. First they said it would be done in four days. When I called thay said call back in two day, then three more days, then another day, finally they said it was done. When I came to pick up the piece it was clear they rush through the job that morning and the work was CRAP!!! Not only did the finish look like a third grader did it, but they did not remove all the parts and baked the plastic parts connected to a sping that ruined a $5000 item. I took my daughters 2007 mustang to these guys because she hits every curb in the city, I had them repair her wheel I got lucky she only damaged one and powder coated them they have a great custom look now , they were friendly and completed the job quickly. I read some of the other reviews that were not very favorable but I took her wheels there anyways (they were close). I'm glad I used them and would use them again (got another daughter getting her license next year. read more

I was in the store on friday picking some harley parts i was having powdered. i have been using wheel tech for a long time. i have always been happy with the work they do. If I ever had a problem with any of the parts, Jeff or John would always make it right; no matter what. in fact, I was witness to what had happend on friday. There was a few people in the waiting and 1 client was not happy with what Jeff had done: Jeff did everything in his power to please this customer who i thought was very unprofessional. I am a doctor in the bay area and know how hard it is to please everybody. From what I saw Jeff did a superb job trying to please this customer from every angle. There are just some people out there who want everything for nothing. You just cant please them. Whiny little scammers with no morals or honesty. I felt I had to right this down to show there are still honest hard working people left in this economy. I wouldnt take my parts anywhere else just on there professionalism alone. I'll tell you what; if I were Jeff or John I would have tossed this prissy little whiner on on his rear. Professional or not; lines have to be drawn. Good job guys.
