I took my vehicle to Becker Tire now Stress Free Auto Care expecting routine, professional service…read more Instead, I experienced carelessness that led to serious damage and a complete refusal to take responsibility. I dropped my truck off on Saturday, March 14th at 9:00 AM. Around 2:30 PM, I received a call that the four tires I requested to have replaced was ready for pick up. After paying $1,061.57 for the tires and labor, I drove off the lot only for my truck to begin violently shaking, forcing me to pull over immediately. I contacted my husband, who came to assist, but the truck was undrivable. I returned to Stress Free Auto Care and explained the situation. At that point, my husband was already waiting for a tow truck. Instead of addressing the issue, we were told they were closing and would not inspect the vehicle until Monday. I could hear the mechanic complaining that he was tired and didn't want to wait around when the manager went to speak to him. I specifically asked if anyone actually drove my truck to test it and was told no they did not road test it. Obviously. Due to the poor customer service and urgency of the situation, we had the truck towed to Toyota of Orange. After inspection, we were informed that the lug nuts had been grossly over-tightened, three were broken and one was missing entirely. This was not a minor mistake; it caused significant damage to the wheel components and created a serious safety hazard. Proper torque is a basic standard that any competent shop should follow, yet it was clearly ignored. No one from Stress Free Auto Care contacted us at any point the following week. After Toyota kept the truck for a week and a half, we were left with a repair bill of $3,332.03. My husband sent a certified letter to Stress Free Auto Care, including documentation of the damages and requesting reimbursement. The manager eventually responded, offering to reimburse only the cost of the tires without acknowledging the additional damages or expenses incurred. As a result, we have filed a lawsuit to recover our losses. I strongly caution anyone to use Stress Free and to choose a business that values safety, accountability, and professional standards.

Blessed to not have been severely injured or to have lost my life. The work included new spokes, truing the wheel, based on the recommendation of the manager, Jared replacing the wheel bearings and spacers, which he also worked on. Less than 10 miles after getting the bike home, an oil seal popped loose. When I contacted the shop, the manager's response was essentially: "Just pop it back in." That was my first red flag after paying a premium to have the bike professionally prepped. A few months later, I left for my trip. While riding through Utah, the rear spacer failed, leaving me stranded and forcing me to pay another shop to repair work that had supposedly already been done. Unfortunately, it got worse. After returning from a roughly 3,000-mile trip, the front wheel bearing catastrophically failed, seized, and essentially welded itself to the axle. This could have easily cost me my life. The damage from laying the bike down meant replacing my fuel tank, axle, bars, and brakes all because of failures tied to work I had already paid to have done. What disappointed me most was the response. After everything that happened, including the safety risk and repair costs, the manager offered me $100 as compensation. I have receipts and documentation to back up everything I'm saying. To be fair, I've heard positive things from other riders about some of the mechanics here, which makes this even more frustrating. But based on my experience, I cannot recommend having critical safety work handled under this manager's supervision or work itself. The workmanship and customer service I received were deeply disappointing. Bike is still not the same.

That realization was disappointing, but my most recent visit made it clear I won't be returning. I brought my car in to have my old wheels removed and new wheels installed. This is typically a 30-minute job at most, yet I was charged $160, and the car still wasn't ready over two hours later. What made this worse is that no price was given upfront before the work started, which is completely unacceptable. When I raised my concerns, instead of accountability or an apology, I was met with pushback. Jeff, as the owner, I would expect better transparency and professionalism--especially toward a repeat customer. Charging premium prices without disclosure and failing to deliver timely service is not okay. This was an extremely bad experience. I won't be coming back, and I'll be advising friends to take their business elsewhere. Jeff, I welcome a public response explaining why no estimate was provided and why a simple wheel swap took over two hours... an apology is absolutely owed here.
