Tire Express - Flat fix on rental

    Tire Express

I searched online for the nearest tire shop and saw that Tire Express had great reviews, so I stopped by. They helped me right away and had everything taken care of in under 20 minutes. They found two nails in the tire and fixed it up quickly and clean. Super efficient and no wasted time. Overall, really solid service and exactly what I needed in a stressful situation. Fast, straightforward, and reliable. Would definitely recommend.

They could patch a tire for about $20 cash, and the service was quick and convenient. At that time, I felt it was a great option. This time, however, my experience was different. I am not sure whether it is because prices have gone up, but the tire looked repairable to me. Still, they told me it could not be patched and that I needed to buy a used tire instead. Since I was already there and the work needed to be done, I ended up paying $60 for a used tire. What disappointed me most was that I originally thought I would be able to keep my old tire and take it home, because I believed I could patch it myself and keep it as a spare. In the end, that was not how it worked. Their used tire replacement process meant they kept my original tire and gave me another used tire in exchange. So it did not really feel like I was simply buying a used tire for $60. It felt more like I was trading in my old tire, which did not even have a hole that obvious to me, and still paying $60 on top of that. The service was done quickly, but the overall experience left me feeling less satisfied than before. Next time, I would definitely compare prices and ask more questions at a few other shops before making a decision.on the car

Costco told me to buy new tires ($800=) Toyota Tustin told me to buy new tires ($600...) A Plus Tire Club's Owner Larry went out and checked out my tires and said I just need the right front tire for now. They don't sell used tires but he asked his employee went and checked for one and found one for my 2020 Toyota Sienna. He found a pretty good one with 50% tread left. I said how much? $40 with installation and no tax. 10 minutes later is was on my car, and all tires were cleaned with tire lotion. I gave them $40 plus $10 tip for their honesty, great help in finding me a spare in their used tire that day, and for their extreme efficiency in putting the tire on my car...( they call it NASCAR tire changing like they do in races. I can not believe how cool, amazing, honest, fun, funny, and great service they provided me ( and saved me$$$$$) by letting me know the other 3 tires were still good. I give this place and Larry (the owner) and his employees a million stars! We laughed and sang ( he has this cool singing toy on the front desk... and Larry is so organized it is no joke... he is so neat it is so admirable!). Everybody loves this place! I came on a whim and it was the best tire place in the whole universe! You gotta go there and see for yourself! Best prices. Best service. Best experience! Quynh

I provided the proper tools and clearly explained that the wheels require careful handling. During service, I was told that a simple screw securing the wheel cover (center cap)--needed to access the lug nuts--had been stripped and could not be removed. This is a basic, non-structural screw and should not be damaged when handled properly with the correct tool. Instead of resolving the issue, I was sent to a third-party shop, Costa Mesa Brakes & Tires Inc. (literally next door, about a 3-minute walk), where I had to pay $150 out-of-pocket just to remove that single screw. I was also told the two businesses have an existing relationship. No alternative solution was offered, and after waiting nearly three hours, I felt forced to proceed. To make matters worse, one of my wheel covers was damaged while the car was in their care. I was told it was "pre-existing," but I have timestamped photos taken immediately before service showing it was not. I was then quoted $100 per wheel cover to replace it. For context, my car was inspected at another shop the day prior with no issues, and I've used multiple tire shops across Southern California without ever encountering something like this. Overall, this experience showed a lack of accountability and professionalism. Customers should not be paying out-of-pocket for issues that occur during service, especially when being directed to a neighboring business.

America's Tire is only about 8 minutes away, and I'm glad I made the drive. First, the one thing they could improve: When I walked in, it took about 12 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. A couple employees saw me standing there and I was the only person in line, but no "hey, we'll be right with you" or anything. A simple greeting within a couple minutes would make the experience way smoother. Now, everything else was great -- especially Hugo. I had called ahead and talked to Hugo, and he was super helpful over the phone. When I arrived, I asked to work with him directly after the rest of the staff kind of ignored me. He was juggling multiple customers, greeting people as they walked in, directing other employees, and still managed to help me personally. The guy was everywhere at once and kept everything moving. He got me checked in fast, found the nail in my tire, patched it, found another nail in a different tire, patched that too, and rotated all four -- for free (since I bought my tires from their San Diego location). Hugo is seriously clutch. Professional, efficient, and actually cares about helping people instead of upselling them. Give this man a raise. Besides the greeting issue, the service here is miles better than the Discount Tire down the street. I'll be coming back to this location from now on and hopefully they got Hugo a new coat with a goat patch or something.
