We rented a four-person bike to roll up and down the waterfront and enjoyed the experience. Bikes were easy to operate, even for the kids. The paths are fairly flat, and with everyone pedaling, it's an easy ride. The bikes have seats in the front to toss in an infant/toddler or two and cup/bottle holders for each seat. Staff was friendly and while parking is not free, they do validate it for you here. My only complaint isn't about the business per se, just the fact that the big bikes can only be used on a relatively short path. We went end-to-end multiple times which got a bit boring. It's the only reason I'm doing four stars; business great, experience a bit monotonous. read more

We're all game for family fun activities! Thank you to my CIL for recommending this place. We rented a double surrey which cost $39 for one hour. Double surrey can fit up to 5-6 people. There were five people in our group. You're more than welcome to extend the time. The employee will provide verbal instructions to the group on operations and which areas you're allowed to travel. Driver on the front left has full control of the steering wheel. Brakes are on the lever. Two middle seats do not have access to pedals. All riders with pedals access helps to cycle in unison. We had tons of fun! Great cardio and full body exercise. I was quite surprised that I didn't sweat in colder environment. I felt much leaner and stronger. Lol! We got a chance to admire the stunning view of Mt Rainier, condominiums at Point Ruston, saw a seal in the lake, spotted a sea plane flying in the sky, felt the breeze blow in our faces, and laughed at a few blooper moments. Next time I'm game for quad sport. Highly recommend this spot for individual or group activities. read more

First- good weather fun activity however, when inquiring about the route and if we could go a certain area that we should have been allowed to according to the map, a presumably newer employee said the map must be outdated and just go back and forth. Disappointed, we finished the limited route and asked a second employee when returning the bike and she said yes we could go on that route when it stated no bikes beyond that point she stated it meant you cant go to the left-when asked if there was anything she could do about our experience she said there was nothing she could do even though we paid for a full experience and got half . read more

05-29-2025 The worst experience. My husband and my 5-year-old were on one of their bikes and my daughter fell since her bikes don't have belts. They weren't fast (since we have the video of the event) Upon returning to the rental/station, my husband asked for help and not a single employee hesitated to help, my husband asked for something to clean it, they only gave him 2 alcohol mini pads. They didn't have icepack or bandage, nothing. Everyone sat watching as my girl cried and was bleeding all over her face, ribs and back. After they have little security in their rental, they are not trained to provide first aid or anything . Terrible service they only think about making money and not about the safety and well-being of customers. 05-29-2025 La peor experiencia. This was a really enjoyable activity to do while at Point Ruston. To start off: I planned to rent either their e-bikes or city bikes, but when I got there I was informed that all of their city and e-bikes are broken currently. They are able to update their website what time the last rental will go out for the day, but not that certain bikes are currently unavailable/broken..? Anyways, I opted for their cruiser bikes and still had a nice 5 mile ride around the area. I noticed the surrey rental is not allowed to go past a certain point so if you plan to go with that option just keep that in mind. The price was pretty good for a 1 hour rental and being able to ride anywhere I wanted. I do plan on returning, but will try to call the day off and see what's available. I would've rated this 5 stars if that little mishap didn't happen. All the staff I interacted with were really nice though! read more

It was packed on Labor Day, but the weather was wonderful and the lines moved along despite clearly being short-staffed. We rented one of the 4 seat contraptions, for 3 adults (mom, dad, grandma) and two kids - 6 and 8 years old. It worked out well. Much of the designated areas are flat or very low grade, so no real stress even with one person doing most of the work. =) The bikes are geared very low too, so it's easy to get started and very difficult to go fast, which isn't a good idea anyway given the crowds and the kind of damage you could do at speed. read more

Rented a larger "6"seater for three adults and one child. Seats are narrow so if you have a wide caboose don't try and squeeze three adults to a row! Hence why we got the larger rider. This was a workout! Not the casual cruise we imagined. But we had a great laugh struggling all together. They were having a 2f1 hour deal so we got the rider for 2 hrs but only ended up riding for 30-40mins went up and down the waterway but got too tired to go any further. read more

My cousin and I rented the single surrey for an hour and had a fun scenic ride around point Ruston with her toddler daughter in the basket looking all E.T. like ! Definitely worth giving this a go with a friend or family.. might not be the best date activity (especially if you're not in the best physical shape) I say that cause it was a hell of a workout peddling this trolley and we were covered in sweat afterwards so just keep that in mind. This was my first time riding Wheel Fun Rentals. I took my 4 year old & her cousins for a fun day at Ruston & they were all stoked to do a bike ride. I loved that they provide helmets & showed us how to use the bike (i pretty hesitant letting my nieces and nephew be in charge of pedaling & steering because we'll they're teenagers & they're crazy!! Lol) but it was easy. We made it more fun by making this bike ride a karaoke bike ride! Singing along to Disney songs at the top of our lungs!! Definitely suggest bring a small portable speaker!! We rented a 4-person surrey for $38 an hour, which is on the high-side, but we are in Tacoma for just a few days and decided to splurge. The surrey was super clean and in great condition. Looked brand new. Staff spray down the bikes between use, and were very sweet, upbeat and enthusiastic about their job-even in today's 90+ degree heat. There are cup holders on the surreys, and I'd recommend bringing along a bottle of water on a hot day. The path was crowded today, but we were able to navigate around for 35 minutes before we just ran out of steam. Those hills aren't easy, even with 4 people pedaling. No discount for an early return. Fun though. Beautiful area. The waterfront is gorgeous. read more

The first time we came, it was an awesome experience. But the second time we came, not so great. Why? Well the pedal of our surrey fell off within ten min of renting it so only one person could pedal. Instead of going back, they be person just pedaled bc we were already far out. When we got to the payment area, the person wouldn't consider discounting our rental even though they could see it was clearly broken. We didn't do anything to it. We just pedaled and it broke off. The screws needed to be tightened w tools and we couldn't do it manually. Anyways, we still had to pay full price despite our disappointing experience. It's a shame bc it's a nice idea to bike around such a beautiful area. read more

My family and I went to the Ruston Point area for the first time a few weeks back. We had questions regarding the parking validation, restrooms, etc , typical tourist questions and the staff was super helpful. We rented a bike where my husband and I could sit side by side and our 2 year old could go in the basket up front. She was crying at first not wanting to do it, the guy who helped bring the bike out was super nice. He told us that if we tried and came back within ten minutes and she wasn't feeling it that he'd give us a full refund. He was a younger guy and yet he seemed to sympathize and understand how kids can be and it really was so nice of him. We had fun in the end! Hahahahaha! What a silly thing to do. But what a fun thing to do also! Two moms and two kids packed into a surrey. Can't see over the heads of the children in front of you but who cares, you have a bell?!!!? This is really a fun way to pass some time along this beautifully developed stretch of land along the water. We talked. We laughed. We may even have cursed at some people who took up the entire walkway. But it was all fun in the end. The price is kinda-sorta high (IMO). The staff running the joint inside the little shack are young and a little spacey. Yes, I gave you my ID... Yes, I paid, here's my receipt. That was a bit annoying. Although the two staff were very nice, none of their web advertised bikes (EBikes, cruisers, citybikes) were maintained and rentable except the surrey style fun bikes so we weren't able to ride around Pt Defiance Park as planned, just a fun but ridiculous ride along the Ruston Waterfront for $30. They're only open weekends so didn't answer the phone to inquire yesterday. Make sure to call before you go to see what's available. read more

My husband and I rented the single surrey. It is easy to pedal and was a blast. Beautiful scenic views. Definitely stop along the way and take in the beautiful scenery. We could see the mountain, boats, the ferry, and even saw a seal swimming along. This was a ton of fun. I found this on Groupon and decided to take the family out for a bike ride by the water front. This was our first time doing this and we all enjoyed ourselves. Definitely a great thing to do on a nice warm day in tacoma. We ended up getting the double surrey and it was big enough for my family of 6. Unfortunately, my 2 year old had a crazy fit in the front, so I had to keep her next to me or on my lap. Other than that, it was a complete blast. The rental was for 2 hours I believe, and the time went by real fast. The kids enjoyed ringing the bell and just getting their "workout" in by the water. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for something fun to do. Afterwards, your kids can enjoy some time at the playground besides it or the water pad up the stairs. They also offer 20% military discount. But if the Groupon is available, that's the better way to go. read more

We had a great time today. We rented the Surrey and I live that it's covered because even though it was 90° out we stayed relatively cool.
